We’ll agree to disagree. I think he’s a better player than you do, and apparently by a significant margin.

This is LilJordan Humphrey. Can block. I think still a free agent. Wouldn't cost picks.

We spent picks for familiarity in the offense for a trash player. A worse version of Pascal.

I don’t hold a lack of production against Dotson here. That’s the nature of being the third receiver here. I do hold his lazy, bad route running against him. And we all should accept there’s a reason Washington soured on him so quickly despite having a massive need at WR.

You are thinking Mannion sees unrealized potential.

My belief is, this is a Pascal type signing when Siri first got here. Its a veteran WR who is familiar with the new offense that will help the other WRs acclimate and helps justify his roster spot by blocking. But Pascal had good hands...

Its not due to some belief in upside. Its simply a player coach who will do the dirty work. Thats fine as a WR4. But still wasnt worth the 2 draft picks and extra money on the extension.

Wicks can't catch. And he plays to his 3 year old combine turtle speed. Hes not good. Hes not getting any faster. And he's not going to become good. And Mannion is probably smart enough to know that.

Rather like that special teams guy Zack

Baun or that too small OL guy Evan

Mathis. Both came in with new coaches who saw things differently. You are what you are, or maybe not. Meaning no disrespect to you, perhaps Mannion sees more than you do with this guy. He certainly has to know him better.

I remember watching GB all last year, and being thoroughly underwhelmed by their WR corps: Doubs, Watson, Reed, Golden, Wicks. But injuries played a big role in that.

Reed and Watson are #1 and #2 on that team. But Watson missed a lot of games, maybe half the season. Reed missed some games, too. Doubs was their #3 (assuming Reed and Watson were healthy), but he might have been their most consistent WR. Then you had Golden and Wicks. Golden didn't do well, considering he was their first-round pick. Wicks saw a lot of action when Watson and Reed were out, and had 5 TDs and 415 yards.

It seemed like they had 5 WRs who would all have been a #3 on the Eagles. Which is sort of ironic when you consider our offense last year.

Anyway, when Kraft got hurt, I knew GB wasn't contending for the Super Bowl. Their season was over.

Malik Benson was supposed to be 153 but my finger slipped. You may clap now 👀

Tanner McKee and a 4th got you pick 14 overall. Nice

I’m not proclaiming Wicks is a world beater and fixes our WR corps in the event AJB is traded, but I think we’re getting a productive player who can help our WR learn the offense and can do some of the dirty work our other WRs are incapable of. I have no issue with him being our No. 3 receiver. If he’s our 2, that’s disappointing unless he becomes much better at the catch point. Even then, the hope is that he’d just be a placeholder while a draft pick develops.

Based on the money they gave him, I think the Eagles see him more than just a dirty work player/Zach Pascal type WR. I’m honestly a bit surprised they even extended him. Trading a 5th and next years 6th would have been fine for a prove it year at $3M.

If these players were hypothetically all on the board for Howie, rank them in order do you think he'd most want to draft to least

Except Reed they all have drop issues in the rare occasion Love actually throws them a good pass.

Reed is always too injured.

Watson is developing but mostly a deep threat with questionable hands. He does change that offense when he is on the field. (Bryce Lance looks like a more consistent, healthier version. Want!).

Golden might be ok but he got overdrafted on his 40 time and needs to develop as well.

The rest downright stink and we got the worst of the bunch. Doubs stinks but has established himself as more of a player than stinky Wicks.

You may be right. But my reasons for hating the trade are also valid.

It's easy, and perhaps lazy to say Howie wants the OL.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt about knowing ball and say he will take the best players first.

Jordyn Tyson

Lemon (position value is what puts him over Sadiq)

Sadiq

Then going scheme fit on the OL its

Iheanachor (upside over Miller)

Blake Miller

Lomu

Proctor is not on Howies board due to scheme fit.

That sounds the same as last season…

Not at all my friend. No screens, pass to the back, 3rd or 4th WR, dump off to the flat, etc. Bizarre. But new OC understands the short to intermediate game can move the chains. And will also put Hurts on the edge to make the throw easier plus add the threat of his running. Kinda like a ball control offense. Should look pretty different and much better.

I don’t necessarily mean dirty work as in some scrub fourth receiver who can block. Jason Avant was a dirty work receiver. Robert Woods at his peak was a dirty work receiver who was incredibly productive catching the ball. I don’t see Wicks as a Pascal-type beyond being a good blocker. Wicks can do real WR things at multiple alignments.

We’ll have to see the details of that extension, but I seriously doubt it’s a true $12.5M in 2027. The Eagles giving him that extension certainly suggests that they see him as a major contributor (hopefully WR3).

Pascal preformed well any time the ball came his way. He was of course held back by the lack of targets from our QB who doesnt spread it around. I liked Pascal a lot and always wanted him back each time he reached free agency again. The eagles never did. It tells you something about this level of player. Theyre useful for installing the offense and then, you move on to someone better.

Again, I GET bringing in this type of player to help out with installs in year 1.

I absolutely friggin hate giving up the draft picks, and the extension keeping him around when we know he doesnt catch the ball well and hes not that good.

I just don’t think you’re accurately seeing who Wicks is as a player if you think he’s the same as Pascal or Lil’Jordan Humphrey. There’s not much more for us to discuss because the divide is too far to find any common ground.

It can be discussed. I may choose not to accept other opinions, but Im certainly open to hearing them so I can decide.

But whatever...

Disregard the Puka comment, but look at the route combinations and the use of motion with the intention of creating leverage for an easy throw with YAC for the WR. Loved the use of motion into a wheel that actually ended up a deep dig. Smart stuff.

you do realize that we won't get a 2026 draft pick for AJ if he's traded post June 1st right? They ARE NOT trading him prior to that.....

Not sure if accurate, but maybe he really was hampered by an injury at the combine.

Haven’t been able to find his Reception Perception from 2024 and 2025.
