He came in the next year in the SEC Championship Game and came from behind to win after Tua went out. He didn't lose that gene at all this season. He had the worst OC in the league and had AJ half assing it out there when Jalen delivered catchable balls in clutch moments of the games and AJ either quit on the routes or dropped the ball.

I have no doubt about Allar not being a good NFL QB. Same thing about Pickett who you were all over coming out of college. Although his issue wasn't due to a lacking clutch gene, just a guy who was red flag for being terrible every season of his College career until this 5th year.

I am by no means high on Allar. I just saw the Daniel Jones turn around and thought maybe the same can happen for Allar. If Jones can do it, maybe there aren't a whole lot who can't.

Even Purdy. Nothing about him as a prospect said starting QB. And he still has terrible games sometimes with INTs. But most of the time he's looking very good in his offense.

Goff got his career saved as well.

Any QB we can take in this draft is a likely career backup at best. Of any late round guy, Allar probably has the most potential even if he is the furthest from reaching it. This be offense may be where he can maximize his opportunity.

Allar wasn't even in my board. But in the last few days this idea came and now I'm intrigued.

Well back in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, making the PB meant more than it does now. I would think (hope) the HoF voters no longer give it as much weight as they did.

I don’t know when the fan vote started being part of the PB, but that ended it meaning anything to me. Plus so many players aren’t going to the PB so they have to get down to the 5th or 6th alternate in some positions. I mean, Shedeur Sanders was in the PB last year.

Yes.. I agree his career as a whole puts him in the hall of very good. I wasn’t really referring to him as much as using the pro bowl in general to determine Hall of Fame worthiness

Right, so if the Eagles have 30 million (really 20'ish after signing rookies and in season moves).....moving that 20 million to next season to extend Carter isn't helpful? Or we should just piss away 20 million to trade away AJ now in a draft that has like 15 first round talents.....or, wait until June 1st (if at all), limit the cap hit to like 7 million, and get 1st rounder for 2027 in a stronger draft. I think the answer is pretty clear.

I will be the first to admit that I was wrong about the trade at the time. I looked at Dotson's production at PSU and his rookie season in Washington and thought we were getting a cheap stud number 3 WR who could fill in as a good number 2 if Brown or Devonta got hurt. The fact of the matter is Howie is good at his job but nobody is perfect and perhaps he, myself, and others should have asked why a team was so willing to give up on him so quickly and especially in doing so give him to a division rival. Did it help being the number 3 WR in an offense with two alpha number 1's getting all of the targets, no. It doesn't change the fact that Dotson is an extremely flawed player who can't get off the line, isn't a great route runner, and is soft.

No, it’s not helpful. They have $77M in cap space next year. And they probably are extending Carter this year anyway.

It’s the same total dead cap to trade AJ regardless of when they trade him. It’s just do they want to account for it all in 2026 or do they want to shift the majority to 2027. Either way, it’s going to be the same.

They can also get 2027 picks if they trade him today. It doesn’t have to be 2026 draft picks.

The answer is simple. He’s keeping open that enormous amount of space right now to have optionality and not box himself into a corner.

It's almost like if you get receivers moving around the formation pre-snap and then running routes where they cross the field in different directions you can scheme people open to a degree. Sure seems better than having everyone just run hitch and vertical routes most of the time and count on them to beat their man one on one.

I don't think it's specifically for Brown it's just a general it would be handy to have space. Whether it's to execute a Brown trade if the Patriots call on draft night and offer their 2027 1st and 3rd, whether it's to trade for Greenard, whether it's to sign JaJuan Jennings, whether it's to trade for Crosby. It offers him flexibility and I just don't think they've come across a move to where they would have spend that money yet.

I wouldn't say Daniel Jones turned it around. He had 8 good games and then fell back into being Daniel Jones before he got injured. In his last 5 starts last season he went 1-4, 62.4% passing, 6 TD passes, 5 interceptions and 3 fumbles lost. He was fully back to being Daniel Jones.

Allar will be a disaster in the NFL.
