No chance Howie slow plays this and waits for guys who might get let go from teams still in playoffs right?

How many of these available OC's can work with Hurts and make it work? Probably not all of them. Hurts isnt the typical QB and his running ability is becoming less and less. I think these candidates will see that and be somewhat hesitant.

Nah. 5 playoff seasons, 2 SB, excellent defense, great offensive talent, winning QB. And you do well in Philly you get a promotion. All of the available OCs will definitely believe they can do what Steichen and Moore did. Philly is an amazing opportunity for an OC.

Nick Foles for QB coach...or something.

I want him on the staff (if he has any interest)

Given Sirianni put up such little fight on this so quickly, I'd think discussions had been going on with him and Lurie/Howie thrroughout the season about how displeased they were with the offense.

Maybe we hire Greg Roman just to keep the streak alive

It's going to be Daboll. Good relationship with Hurts. Success as an OC and play caller in this league. Success developing/helping QB's improve. I also think they will want a strong personality who will run their offense their way and tell both Sirianni and Jalen to do it his way if and when he has to. If he doesn't get a head coaching job I expect it to be him.

Kubiak in San Fran? Declan Doyle from Chicago? LeFleur from the Rams but think he would only be allowed to leave for a HC position.

I mean yeah, if Big Dom was calling plays! roll

I don’t understand how that isn’t by far the biggest news of the day.

Isn’t he security??

Because it’s fake news.

For all we know Sirianni wanted to do it earlier in the season but Howie/Lurie said no.

People act like Steichen & Moore were all Howie and Johnson & Patullo were all Nick

If Nick didn’t want Moore as OC, Moore wouldn’t have been OC

Conversely

If Howie didn’t sign of on Patullo being OC, there’s no way Patullo would have been OC

It will be a collaboration, whether or not technically spear headed by either one. I know that doesn’t fit everyone’s agenda but that’s just reality

Steichen was 100% a Nick hire. So was Patullo. We can debate Johnson and Moore but I think Johnson was Nick's decision and then when he lost clout after 2023, Moore was kind forced on him in a take it or leave sort of manner.

Oh really? Thank god.

Someone texted me it was real. 🤣

I'm pretty sure they changed the rule in the last few years where they consider going somewhere to call plays is considered a promotion and not a lateral move.

Allen was terrible at first though and then improved immensely and has been great ever since. I think that’s why Daboll gets some credit there.

But he knows and has worked with Hurts so it’s uniquely a possible fit for the Eagles.

The reason why I give Daboll credit is because Josh Allen came out of Wyoming and was really not polished. He was a project with a big arm. That was a big-time jump from Wyoming to the NFL. This wasnt guys like Maye, Williams and Daniels going from power 4 conferences. when you watched him against better teams in college (not many), you knew he needed a lot of work. Now he had all the talent in the world to become what he’s become.

Great job by the bills by identifying all that and taking the risk. But there were bills fans, analysts and people saying he shouldn’t have went over Josh Rosen (“super talented” heard Arizona coaches at the time tell me he was a dbag and wouldn’t make one of the few things that coaching staff was right about lol) . There were a lot of people that thought he was just a big arm quarterback that was gonna flame. at first, he didn’t look good. And by year three Allen became a mvp level player. I have to give credit to daboll for getting there when Allen was at the ground floor and 3 years later he was second in mvp only to Rodgers who had a ridiculous year

That would be nice. I'd love LaFleur. Don't think it happens, but I'd love it.

You just want him to smash a chair over Brown

Maybe we give Nick a little credit for knowing a change had to be made. There is an assumption that he had to be forced to do it but there’s no evidence of that.

I watched allen a few times give BYU fits

They had him and a good RB, cant remember his name, got drafted by the falcons.

But yeah on college he was just a big athlete running around playing back yard ball making crazy plays.

And yeah Daboll should get a bunch of credit as Allen coming out was really Raw.

They did the right thing with the timing. They can interview a bunch of guys over the next to 10 days while the HC hiring settles and pounce once it does. Only way I see it earlier is if Kingsbury or Kafka are pretty sure they aren't getting an open job quickly.

I’m fine if people want to say daboll is still using helping develop Allen to get a job and he might not be as good as we think. I can see it and get it. Daniel jones had his best year of his career with daboll (until this year). So he also has that as I’m not high at all on jones. Frankly the worst thing that could have happened to him when he got there was jones playing like that cause it is what got jones that contract and the downfall next couple years (besides poor roster and bad GM)

Rumors are he identified Jaxson dart as the Qb he wanted and schoen didn’t love the kid. I don’t know if dart becomes a good Qb but you saw flashes this year. Now daboll if he’s the OC can’t get hurts 10 concussion checks in 8 games.

After 2023 I’m not sure how much pull sirianni really had. That was a big time collapse. I’m curious when he is no longer the coach the stories that come out about after 2023 season. Cause you know that’s coming. It happened with Doug and chip before him.
