Does it help that all these historically bad teams are filling HC positions now and not so many next year? Might be less opportunities for an OC to get a HC gig next year. There were 10 HC openings, that's crazy. Almost 1/3rd of the league.

Yes I was thinking that as well with 10 openings this year there will be less next year. You're not likely to lose someone unless he becomes the top 1 or 2 names out there

I don’t usually get personal on here, but your post hit me. I’ve been where you are. I’ve had a couple suicide attempts in my past and spent time in inpatient treatment afterward. I’m still in therap

Big thing is also probably control of the offense. I'm betting Howie/Lurie are still telling candidates that Nick is still in control

Don't think so. That is what has changed with the bad playoff loss. The new guy is going to run the offense like Fangio runs the defense. Exciting if we nail the choice.

They already asked during the PC though

Maybe Siri has some input. But not his show anymore.

I don't expect 10 openings next year but I could see an easy 5-6.

Until one of them say it then I'm going to assume it's business as usual

Who's been interviewed that's still on a team in contention? They may have already won the job, but the announcement is just waiting until their season ends.

Vance Joseph (Broncos DC) Cardinals, Falcons, Ravens, Raiders, Giants, Titans

Mike LaFleur (Rams OC) Cardinals, Raiders

Chris Shula (Rams DC) Cardinals, Ravens, Browns, Raiders, Dolphins, Giants, Steelers, Titans

Klint Kubiak (Seahawks OC) Cardinals, Falcons, Ravens, Raiders, Dolphins, Giants

Aden Durde (Seahawks DC) Falcons, Browns

Davis Webb (Broncos QB Coach) Ravens, Raiders

Nate Scheelhaase (Rams PGC) Ravens, Browns, Raiders, Steelers

Vance Joseph, Chris Shula, and Klint Kubiak all look like high probabilities to land HC jobs just based on the number of interviews and whats still available.

Before anyone jumps on this, Fowler is wrong -- you can't "designate" a trade as post June 1 like you can when releasing a player. You have to actually trade him after June 1. This is horrible reporting by ESPN, which isn't a surprise.

Right can't involve 2026 draft comp. Closest you can do is agree to a trade that doesn't become official until after June 1st which would be more player for player or 2027+ picks

With the way Howie operates, he may prefer 2027 picks. We already have 4 in the top 100 in 2026. By waiting a year, it could be better compensation then if it were to be 2026 comp. Similar to how he traded Reddick.

I'm sure this is just end of season shellshock but unless Siri is fired I just think we're going nowhere

Just say no to Daboll. Although he has experience i want to puke every time I see his face

If his experience enables him to transform Hurts and this offense into a top offense again, I'd be fine with you puking every time you see his face.

I see McDaniel being a rental that'll get a HC position again if we're successful

If winning a superbowl is the definition of success, that's fine by me

It's not even technically reporting. It's a sports gossip column basically. And 7m is nothing. That's like a backup QB salary.

They pretty much said for the right candidate that’s what would happen. But what level that candidate has to be is a question. There’s no guarantee you’ll get a former HC guy

Salah to the Titans so 49ers get a clear downgrade at DC and won't get 2 3rds at some point is very good news for us.

Why won't they be getting the two thirds? Titans hired him as the HC so the 49ers should be getting two thirds.

Can some of you draft people weigh in? Would you agree or disagree? I've seen some say this isn't a good draft for OT

Apparently the person has to be with the prior org for 2 previous years
