There will be a misinformation campaign, as there always is. First of all, we don't know beyond all doubt that Mcdaniel was their top choice (although there sure was smoke). But if he was, in fact, their top choice and they couldn't even get him in for an interview, that's not a good look. They'll push it out there as best they can that there was no interest.

It seems they're saying the Eagles offered him a job. So they either offered it without interviewing or they did interview him and it wasn't just reported.
