I doubt it was Hurts. My guess is that Nick is still in control and McDaniel wants full control. I also doubt it was Vic

I don't think this even makes sense. Are you suggesting that Jim Harbaugh doesn't coach offense at all, and we should start the "what do you even do here?" question?

Now that he 100 percent not coming here I can be honest and admit that our personnel didn’t really for McDaniel, including Hurts.

That definitely is an issue. have some concerns how great he can be against better teams. Granted it was Tua and worse QBs. But his offense vs. playoff teams averaged 19.7ppg. also scored 20 points or less in 62% of their games against playoff teams.

I disagree. Everyone in the nfl has thick skin. Or in pro sports for that matter. I haven’t heard one player or coach say they hated playing/coaching in Philly. Unless you have? Enjoy the passion. We could be a team like the jags where their fans don’t care

I would argue a thick skin is very important for being in the NFL. But I think there are puuuuulenty of players and coaches that lacked it. I can think of one particular long-tenured QB right here in Philly.

I'd say same to you. Did you mean to quote someone else?

I have, but most aren't going to say it publicly, because closing doors in a profession isn't a good look. But internally they'll rank different things, like where they want to move their families, and things like that.

Also no, I don't enjoy the 'passion' because if I'm blunt, it comes with an overwhelming dose of emotional priority that makes it very hard to have good discussions about the team, it's usually venting about the Eagles. Lol.

Bad OL and an insanely limited QB. He’s a great offensive schemer but not a miracle worker.

The Eagles LOVE 5 star high school prospects who did not live up to their billing in college. (As they should, it's an interesting pool to dip into as NCAA football gets weirder and weirder).

They didn’t always have a bad offensive line. Secondly I would argue the had good enough weapons that you would think that they would score over 20 points as some of those playoff team teams weren’t very good playoff teams. They went up against the 2023 Eagles and managed to score 17 points against a bad defense. That’s one of the playoff team teams.

This isn’t saying he’s not a good coach or that i didn’t want him. I would’ve taken him and been happy. I actually think if the Chargers can keep their offensive line healthy and playing well he will have success. However, I think some of you feel like he is a flawless coordinator/offensive mind. I don’t think that’s true. I think they’re flaws in his offense.

No, I'll elaborate. You were talking about McDaniel going to the Chargers, right? You say you think he wants full control and Nick won't relinquish, just as a guess. (I'm ignoring that I disagree with the guess for now.)

I'm saying that's weird because do you think that means Jim Harbaugh, who he's seeming to be hired with by the Chargers, is looking to give full control of his offense away, as an offensive coach? Is he becoming a CEO coach? Should we say "what does he even do there"?

The last part is a bit of a joke but you get the point.

Shhh.. You'll trigger them

But who is them?

Patullo was so bad that any experienced playcaller, warts and all, should be a decent upgrade to the offense. I won’t lose sight of that, even if I’m disappointed tonight.

The better kickers in the draft- in case we draft one:

1. Lucas Carneiro, Ole Miss

2. Trey Smack, Florida

3. Will Ferrin, BYU

4. Dominic Zvada, Michigan

5. Drew Stevens, Iowa

I’m not saying it suggests Sirianni is a bad HC. It would suggest he’s a bad offensive coach and needs to be strictly a CEO coach.

Below excellent doesn't mean bad. Football is about matchups, and we really should know this. Certain guys fit certain systems, others fit others. The types of coaches that work with all types of QBs have a word to describe them, and that word is elite.

2 things about McDaniel that everyone will ignore and just go on pretending he didnt want to work with Siri:

  1. He really is the kind of weakling that would rule out any cold destinations. From Miami, its said he is excited to go back to California. This is one of those scenarios where a good job opened up in a place the guy wants to live.

  2. The eagles were rejected by Chip Kelly. What was it, 3 days later? that Howie reached out again and it meant a lot to Chip. So the McDaniel deal is not over till its over. If the eagles really had him top on their list, hes definitely hearing from them again before he signs on the line in LA.

Rtk and skippy and whoever else that pounce whenever someone says something that's not praising Hurts

I know you're kidding, but for those who may not know, most NCAA teams require their OL to wear braces on both legs regardless of injury.

The biggest problem isn't even him going to the Chargers, it's what him passing on the Ravens, Steelers, AND Bills means. He's not going to find a better trio of opportunities anytime soon most likely, unless someone retires or steps down. That means that he might stay in SD for a little while...

Unless he wants to intentionally downgrade?

He didn’t even bother to interview. It’s over.

Different teams and different wants. He could have wanted full power here

Most likely.

Im not concerned until Daboll is out of the running. Id be thrilled with Daboll.

Then after him, we are going to get a relative unknown. Maybe Slowik rehabs his career here. He might be the best of the rest after Daboll...

Mike McDaniel was put on this pedestal for some reason. Yes, he has a good track record, but he's not some genius that people were fighting over. Frankly, I was more excited about the possibility of getting 2 3rd round comps if he came here and then went on to be a HC next year.

I know it rankles folks, but it was never a debate.

You are correct, its Hurts all the way. Its like 87 to 65, Hurts.

Herbert is a throw at target robots QB. I bet he looks awesome in a couple weeks.

He has 2 TDs to 4 picks in 3 playoff losses. He is 52-43 as a starter.

He is the same age as Hurts. He peaked at age 23.

Now he has an OC who led Tua to such heights and led the 49ers to the 13 7 offense and 10 wins.

That team got to the NFCCG on Defense. They won the divisional 13-10 and lost the NFCCG 20-17

They did put up a whole 23 on Dem Boyz though.

18.7 ppg playoff offense. What a legend!

The 49ers got better on offense with McDaniel out the door. This was with Jimmy G before he got hurt.

The Chargers are still the Chargers until they are not. Same is true for McDaniel and Herbert.

They get nothing with this hire until they prove it on the field.

It would have been interesting to see what McDaniel could do here but the slurping is pathetic.

The only thing that rankles is the weird grass is always greener at QB delusion.

Herbert's yearly ranks in passer rating

This feels like semantics. The offense was great in 2022 and you could say 2024 although it largely was due to Barkley having a historic season.

I just would want to know who’s primarily at fault for 2023, majority of 2024 passing game and 2025. Eagles spent a ton of money on offense and it should have looked better. That’s all.

I mean that's a lot of speculation just to say that Sirianni is the problem, but I can at least accept that it might vary...

We'll see how it comes out and stuff.
