I’ve said this in the past, this league is a passing league. Jeffrey Lurie has wanted (since he hired Reid) to be a passing team. The Eagles in 2024 switched that up and ran it at a historic level and won a SB. When you have something that historic it makes sense to lean into it and go away from that philosophy for short time.

But I’m guessing if this passing game for the 3rd consecutive year is bottom 10 in the league ( if they have AJ Brown here and they get another good tight end in here) that it is going to be a major problem for lurie. To me above wins and losses is why can’t you fix the passing game when he is giving hurts and sirianni all the tools to do it. you can blame Jalen hurts. You can blame Nick Sirianni. But I think Jeffrey Lurie it’s going to be angry, frustrated and heads are going to roll if at the end of 2026 the team is not reaching his expectations and this passing game and the offense still isn’t functioning at where he imagines it.

Cam Ward is a bust a never was to even be a bust and nobody is holding out for Tenn. It’s fraud transient city as well that fired Vrabel who is 10 seconds from going to a Super Bowl.

It's a solid point and with how awful the offensive line was might be time to consider it next year if the offensive line is as bad this year. At this point, you stick eoth him because there isn't any OC candidates left that you move on from Stoutland for.

Well, if you step through everything logically...

If the reports that Howie and Lurie were being trigger happy on firing Sirianni, and his job was in jeopardy, there's a possibility he wasn't giving the OC time because he himself wasn't getting time. So if that's the case, then Howie and Lurie have no one to blame but themselves if their promises of autonomy are falling flat. The weird part is that doing that also contributed heavily to winning a Super Bowl so...

...Was it a good thing, or a bad thing? I guess it was both? Doesn't matter if you find someone who's a good fit though, I'm nowhere near as down on Slowik as some here are. If Hurts can't become a prominent passer with Slowik, we have way bigger problems than not hiring big names.

I've never been super enamored with Daboll - hard to know how much was Josh Allen and how much was Daboll. If he does take Tennessee over Philly, well...yeah, that's not a great look. But I won't be despondent.

Others - Kingsbury has always been my top choice; not sure what to make about the reporting that the Eagles aren't interested. I think he fits best with Jalen. We didn't know about the McDaniel interview until he was off the board, so maybe they have talked to Kliff. Among the others, I find Brady and Slowik the most intriguing. I think we know now the issue in Houston was the QB, not Slowik.

Like I said with Kingsbury and considering the eagles apparent lack of interest- if as we know Kellen Moore had an air raid passing game background, and Hurts was a failing QB in his system until Barkley took over, then what made everyone think Air Raid Kingsbury was a good fit? Hurts already proved he wasnt a fit in that type of scheme.

Just my personal take on the DaBoll situation, I kind of think he knows he’s the front runner for that bill’s job. He’s been in touch with Allen even after he left Buffalo. They are close. Allen had his best statistical season under him. He would do well in Buffalo. I think it makes sense that the bills know who they want when they fired McDermott. I don’t think they just fired McDermott without having some thought process in mind for the last five weeks since they had that meeting where it went sideways. I think it’s gonna be Daboll.

So imo daboll is kinda is playing this well saleh is a good friend of mine. I’m just gonna put it out there that if I didn’t get the bills job that’s where I was gonna go. This helps his buddy‘s OC job look better by saying if he was a top candidate and going to go there over other places then i should look more into that job.

Let’s see if he actually follows through with that if he doesn’t get the bills job. Because if he doesn’t, it feels like what i exactly put out there.

• Must have experience calling plays and being creative

• Return the offense to top 5 or be fired

• The team has to get to the Super Bowl or you're fired

• You're in complete control of the offense. Except for:

  • You have to keep the OL coach who is also in control of the run game

  • You will have your predecessor on staff as either the pass game coordinator or advisor who is best friends with the HC, no pressure!

  • The HC is going to handcuff you to play conservative

  • You must avoid turnovers at all costs and not call plays that are too risky

• Your QB is an average passer at best, but is a dual threat to run. Except he doesn't like to run anymore and when he does is slow and hesitant

• I hope you like hitch routes, we like hitch routes

• Your offensive linemen are injured and will not be effective, and the OL coach is responsible for the run game, but if the run game isn't dominant you will be fired

• You're losing your top TE to free agency and you will have Grant Calcaterra as your veteran returning TE. We'll draft a guy in the 3rd round for you.

• If you're doing a bad job, some fans will harass you and your family and egg your house

• Don't listen to any media, the local radio shows entire existence is to create drama and rage bait and will crucify you publicly every week

• If this works out, you'll get Head Coach interviews after one season. If it doesn't, you'll be fired as the scapegoat

At this point I'm weighing the incremental effect of an OC for a year or 2 versus getting Lane's replacement trained up for the next decade+.

In terms of Stoutland criticism - with all the inserting and removal of players from the lineup, the OL was pretty sloppy. We had hurt guys who couldn't do the job physically and/or guys blowing assignments. I don't think we ever got any continuity. It would've been interesting if Stout committed to Toth/Kendall early in the season and played the long game with Landon/Jurgy.

Slowik/Grizzard would intrigue me as a package deal. Both spent time in Miami, but not at the same time.

Slowik was the senior passing game coordinator there this year while Grizzard spent two years with McDaniel as an offensive QC coach.

Sign me me up Slowik as OC with Grizzard as the passing game coordinator/third down dude.
