Slowik/Grizzard would intrigue me as a package deal. Both spent time in Miami, but not at the same time.

Slowik was the senior passing game coordinator there this year while Grizzard spent two years with McDaniel as an offensive QC coach.

Sign me me up Slowik as OC with Grizzard as the passing game coordinator/third down dude.

Yeah Slowik is growing on me

If Kingsbury is a no go, then that's basically my list as well.

I would have Kingsbury high. But I just don’t think he wants to come here without total autonomy of his coaching staff. And the Eagles are not gonna let him do that because they want Jeff Stoutland here. I think that was the issue of why he wasn’t hired last time. And it’s the hangup that they are at now.

Seeing that Zach Berman tweet about Jim Bob Cooter, tells me that the Eagles are leaking this to him or he has a source telling him about cooter. But also it tells me the whole we’re gonna give the next OC full autonomy was kind of BS. I said this when that report came out. That feels like that was a PR move by the Eagles to get out in front of narrative that it’s a harder OC job cause you won’t get autonomy. that way it’s more intriguing of a job and more interest. I think around the league people didn’t buy that BS. Hence maybe a push of going with someone who knows the offense and can’t make slight variations to it

yes. Including Loeffler who some eagles fans thought might be our savior, maybe as our red zone guy. OC by committee. Those 3 seem like a solid offensive staff. As well as Stoutland of course. I guess Grizzard would be WRs coach/pass game coordinator?

If someone can tell me otherwise, fine. But I just dont know that it is even precedented for an OC to expect to appoint an entire offensive staff. We are talking OC here, not HC. I find that aspect of this story to be unbelievable.

All I know is on the Philly special podcast they talked about it. one of the big hang ups last time a Kingsbury was he wanted to bring his own offensive line coach in and guys he was comfortable with. That was their big hangup.

In depth article from Kempski that concludes woth him believing that AJ Brown is going to be traded.

Nick Sirianni has been flexible throughout this OC search. My understanding is that autonomy has not been an issue early in the process and he's been open-minded re: scheme. (Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll are different, for example, and both were of high interest.) There might be more rigidity with some elements on the roster (Jalen Hurts is the QB), but there's also ambiguity about key spots on the roster. (i.e. — A.J. Brown, Lane Johnson.) Those are big factors in how the offense is going to look under a new OC.

id have scheelhaase decision where he does, but I don’t think the Eagles are going to go that route. It’s the reason why I also would have Slowik over Weiss. I think they want someone with NFL experience in play calling. I also think Jim Bob Cooter is higher for the Eagles than a couple of guys on that list.

I think the second paragraph is spot on. I think the first paragraph is more of a PR BS by the Eagles. be like see we went after these guys that don’t run what we do. We were willing to be flexible and give autonomy. I call BS because I think they knew that those guys were not coming here because they didn’t believe that they could run and do what they wanted to do without question. When you have to keep putting out there that you would have total autonomy and try to continuously sell it, it feels like people do not believe what you are selling.

Its gross to say but it feels like Marcus Hayes.... ugh.... may.... have... been.... right

Eagles tried to convince McDaniel to interview but weren't able to.

Why interview for OC when you’re going to get an HC?

He is becoming the Chargers OC.

He took the chargers OC job so i don’t think he’s expecting to get HC job. Daboll on the other hand sounds like he’s getting HC job in Buffalo with all the smoke ( frankly also betting odds)

I thought Lane already said he's playing again? I'd think the biggest factor would be to have his heir before he retires so they can at least learn for a year under him

Reporters are really trying to push for Eagles to make some massive move like trading Brown and taking on huge cap hits. They don't really think it's best for the team. They're doing this because they get clicks and views from this narrative

Yeah picking a guy without play calling experience would be odd. Even college play calling you could sell me on but none is a problem for where this team is

Then Jeff and Howie are complicit in throwing away next year vs just firing Nick now

We think he has been, but he could be tanking things with people who will come in and toss his crap system

I'm all in on Jim Bob Cooter solely on name alone and nothing else.

Jim Bob Cooter would be the type of hire where everyone would be reposting it one year from now with the caption "Here's where the disaster started"

He said that awhile ago. He hasn't talked since getting a season ending injury and whatever setback he had before the playoff game.

That’s why I don’t think Nate is going to be in contention for this. I think they talk to him in case something goes south in 2026 and they have to make a head coaching hire. They already interviewed him. So they have some background on him.

Furthermore, I think Weiss makes sense if they missed out on the guys they wanted and they believe he could be a rising star. He called plays in the college football playoff, and that offense looked fun. they believe with how offenses in the NFL are using things and incorporating things from college that he would be able to make the transition. The problem with Nate is you just had Pattulo who was a first year OC calling plays and failed. And in 2023 it was the same thing with Brian Johnson. So I don’t think they’re gonna go back that route with what is on the line in 2026.

Getting someone who hasn't called plays before just seems like KP 2.0

Could be better but could also be the same crap

I hope he doesn't go out like Peters but it seems his problem is just health now rather than declining play

On the AJ Brown trade front, not saying they’re going to trade him but if they are a team I would go to is actually the Buffalo Bills. Kincaid has one year left on his contract with a Club option for 2027. I think if you can get him to stay healthy he could be your replacement for goedert. And you probably could get a high draft pick back for him as well considering his durability issues. Maybe Buffalo doesn’t want to deal him but i don’t think he is untouchable. So it solves your tight end problem and you’re getting a high draft pick (likely a 2nd which is late in the 2nd) for AJ Brown that you could use it to go get a wide receiver.

I am starting to wonder if there is some rumblings that reporters are hearing about Lane Johnson. I thought it was interesting someone asked Howie specifically if Lane was going to return or retire during his PC last week. Berman has hinted at it a few times a well. It seems like they heard something but don't have enough to formally report on it.
