the sad thing is that we will end up hockey assisting two 3rd round picks to Dallas once Parker goes to be a HC somewhere. We never get the picks but we have to lead the league in ACTUALLY opening the doors for these guys to be moving up.

We don’t actually know that he’s a good DC. Eberflus was actually considered a good DC at one point. Enough to get a HC job fwiw

Not sure who he would take. Kasper is clearly becoming the next Secondary coach. Washburn is a lifer here. I don't see why Clint Hurtt or Bobby King would leave for a lateral move. Maybe Roy Anderson but he has stronger ties to Fangio than Parker.

Not sure I love Kasper just sliding over to secondary coach and pass game coordinator, but whatever. I was hoping Wilson would come back, he did a great job here.

Losing position coaches IS the sign of a good unit. Our D will be fine. It just is disappointing that it helps Dallas.

I can easily appreciate this post. DAL while unable win in the post-season is #5 in the NFC and #11 in the league in wins since 2000. They are easy to hate, especially for PHI fans, and a lot of DAL fans (love/hate) quite honestly. They have wasted so many good teams and players for a long time but overall are decent team year in year out minus a some bad years. The crazy part is, including the year 2000 DAL has had 9 years with a losing record 00, 01, 02 belong to Chan Gailey, 5-11 3 straight years. Then there are the last two years. How they manage to be in the top 5 in wins in the NFC for the last 25 years is surprising. The most disappointing/underperforming years since 2000, 1-5:

- Preseason over/under: 8 wins
- Season record: 5-11 (3 games under)

I read an article about this specifically this morning. They need LB help in a bad way as well as S, Edge, and CB. The FA S market is quite large this year and the LB market is thin. The article predicted DAL would look at the FA market for S, and try to hit on LB and Edge in the draft early, taking a CB mid to late.

Overshown is the only good LB on the roster currently.

Edit: I typed this before I saw the news on Parker coming to DAL. I wonder how aggressive DAL might be trying to get Blankenship now. I like the idea of trying to land a LB in the draft, Styles has been mocked to DAL a lot. DAL safeties currently: Malik Hooker is going to be a cap casualty, saving DAL $7m. Dono Wilson(UFA) and Juanyeh Thomas (RFA) are likely gone as well. That leaves only Markquese Bell.

My guess is with Parker's familiarity with the Packers he'd have gone there if they offered him the job. Gannon probably goes to the Packers then.

BG said he thinks Brown is returning. He could be just playing company man, but also remember he's the one who had insight into the relationships as we saw during the 2024 season when he talked about the Brown and Hurts dynamic during his radio show that made headlines. So he knows how AJ is feeling and such. Wonder if BG would've dodged the question if he felt AJ wanted to leave or was going to demand a trade and try to be a problem this offseason.

I wonder where LaFleur is going to end up after next season.

If the reports are true and DAL actually does get Parker hired I will be happy and cautiously optimistic. I expected them to get Leonhard, Jones, or Parker. At the end of the day I am just glad they went younger, and they actually went through the entire process of seeing and interviewing several candidates, vs last year with a knee jerk hire of Flus within 24 hrs of hiring Schotty.

This really doesn't seem like a Jerry hire at all, I think that is what makes me the happiest. I am happy that the league in general seems to be moving a younger direction in the coordinator roles, and we as fans start getting to see some new, younger football minds go to work, all the retreads are getting tiresome to watch.
