the sad thing is that we will end up hockey assisting two 3rd round picks to Dallas once Parker goes to be a HC somewhere. We never get the picks but we have to lead the league in ACTUALLY opening the doors for these guys to be moving up.

Or he goes to Dallas, realizes they have crap for DBs and edge rushers, and ruins his name with the defensive performances they put out the next 2 years before he’s fired. Even the best DC’s need talent

Do we know what capacity KP is with the team yet? He's fired from being OC but there were reports he just moved to some other position

That will continue to be the narrative until the new OC gets hired and says that there is no use for him - then the FO can spin it as if the new coordinator didn't see Patullo as a fit. I really don't understand the softness and tip toeing were doing with Patullo. This is the big boy lead, you get fired then so be it.

It's almost as if we have to terminate guys with ease instead of just coming out and saying Patullo is relieved and we wish him the best.

Chicago guy on PHLY doesn't have a lot of good things to say about Nagy. Putting a pin in that in case he ends up being the hire.

Not that I want them to hire Nagy, but he did have a winning record as head coach of the Bears and got them to the playoffs in two out of the four seasons he was there. Considering where that franchise has been for a few years before and after that until Ben Johnson arrived that isn't too bad.

So who is left that they have interviewed or reportedly want to interview?

Slowik, Grizzard, Weiss, Doyle, Cooter, Nagy, Kafka.....am I missing anyone?

Despite how bad the DAL defense was this year DAL is known to draft and develop DBs, particularly CBs. They have lost a few to FA recently, S and CB is a known need this year. At least DAL is moving in the right direction to correct the problem by getting an exceptional teacher in the secondary as their new DC. Change is good.

Eh...are they really known for that? Diggs and Bland got recognition mainly by gambling for picks. They both got a ton of picks but also gave up plays. That got them both paid by Jerry, but the Cowboys DBs have really been a boom or bust unit IMO.

I don’t want an Andy Reid tree guy. It feels like staying in the past

He also had Fangio. Much like another certain head offensive coach who doesn't seem to know how to produce a good offense.

Sadly there are two Andy Reid tree guys and a sort of Reich tree guy (Cooter) in the ever growing short list of guys they have interviewed. I am with you, we need fresh new ideas and as much as I want someone with NFL play calling experience I would prioritize the fresh new ideas. I would still go with Slowik of the guys they have interviewed.

To counter though, he only had 1 season with a winning record as HC. And that's because he had Vic Fangio with 3 All-Pro's and other Pro-Bowlers on D.

The biggest damning indictment on him continues to be KC being thrilled to bring back f'ing Bieniemy and push Nagy out the door.

I'm not in favor of hiring him but not for the same reasons that everyone else seems to be against it. I don't see him as a terrible hire should it happen, I see him as a super average, safe, boring hire. Kind of like JBC except at least with Nagy he will probably have some of his own ideas. I would actually prefer Nagy to Kafka and JBC.

He's ok. Sadly I think they could do worse based on some of their interviews. Also, Lurie still is said to have a great relationship with Reid so if there were major reason for concern there I would think the Eagles would be aware. Nagy's contract expired and it seems like both sides just wanted to have a fresh start away from each other though obviously if he were doing a great job he would still be there.

Jourdan Lewis and Nashon Wright come to mind immediately. Lewis was the top nickel corner last year lost in FA. I am not saying DAL is a CB factory, but they do develop starter level talent. Picks are over rated if you're giving up TD's...

thats good enough for me

According to the PHLY guy, Nagy is very rigid in his system. He doesn't know how to do anything else other than Andy Reid's system and in Chicago he didn't have players who fit that system but tried to run it anyway and it ended up going poorly. If his analysis is right, the last thing we need is a coach who can only do things one way. That's much of the same.

If we hire Nagy, I’m officially onto 2027 head coaching candidates.

Slowik, Grizzard, Weiss, Doyle, Nagy, JBC, Kafka is how I would rank the guys still available that they have interviewed or requested an interview for but nobody on that list excites me. I keep hoping and waiting for some awesome candidate to came out of nowhere but it doesn't seem like that is going to happen. Maybe the Philly sports luck can turn around and Joe Brady doesn't get a HC job and we can swoop in and secure him.

Been saying this for a long time and it's one of the most frustrating things about the Rooney Rule. It rewards the final piece, not the ticket to enter. The Eagles have been one of the front runners and best examples of giving minority coaches/executives a chance and the tools to learn on the job. But because they don't make the jump from the Eagles to top off the food chain, it's all but ignored. If anything, the rule should reward teams for giving opportunity when there was none.

I don’t want to alarm you, but…
