He seems to hate Philly. Now hes saying its a great job while everyone else says it might be a horrible job. Someone just paid Greg Olsen a lot of money.

I think there's a lot of hand wringing here but it's a job. Very few guys get multiple offers and the ones that do will weigh factors specific to them. The ones that want an OC job will likely take it despite WIP mania. Almost every search gets like this

I swear if Brady is available and we lose him too.

The 2017 Eagles team really had no business winning a Super Bowl. The skill positions were meh - Alshon, Torrey, Blount and Ajayi. Ertz and Celek were great. The whole team was carried by the lines - OL still has 3 studs even without JP, and the D line had prime Cox, BG and a very underrated Jernigan (Long was key as well). The secondary was meh - Darby and Mills at CB.

That team ran through an easy schedule and caught fire in the playoffs. You can say the NFC path was somewhat easy, but then they got the ultimate test in the Super Bowl and succeeded.

Was a true Cinderella team honestly. I don't think that feeling will ever be beaten by a SB team again. BTA was fun and all, but it couldn't even kind of match the drama. LIX was like 'blink and it's over' kinda stuff. Lol.

fwiw there have been 5 HC jobs hired and only 1 has gone to an offensive guy in Stefanski and I don't consider him an offensive guru

We were pretty obviously the best team in the NFL in 2017. Top to bottom a damn good roster that fit perfectly together and was buoyed by an elite job by the coaching staff. Unfortunately the NFL quickly caught up to Doug/Reich and learned the importance of being aggressive on fourth down and the benefit of being conservative on third down knowing you’d go for it on fourth down.

I don’t see that as a great thing for us either.

Hard to believe it was almost a decade ago, especially being spoiled with such electric players on offense, a historic OL and young, hungry defense all adding up to a 2nd SB ring, but man, 2017 captured this city. Everyone bought in. You had the perfect role players and the team won as a team. It was unreal to watch. It was pure magic.

Chris Long, Chris Maragos, Corey Clement, LeGarrette Blount, Bryan Braman, Trey Burton, Patrick Robinson, Mack Hollins and the list goes on.

They had contributions up and down the roster.

Last years team seemed to be built more on star power. Dominant play from dominant players. They made big plays when called upon. I can't think of any unsung heroes or role players who stepped up (maybe Milton Williams?)

This team man. Would have loved to be in the stadium for this.

No it's mostly a wash because a good OC hired from a good spot like say Seattle would create an attractive OC opening but it's not great

I heard he didn't look at his phone once.

Until your house gets egged by moronic fans

I asked AI for a history because I feel this is getting beaten to death

Bill Belichick (Cleveland Browns, 1993)

This remains a legendary piece of Browns lore. After Belichick cut the beloved Bernie Kosar, fans didn't just put up "For Sale" signs—they essentially laid siege to his property.

The Incident: Fans left heaps of garbage on his lawn and hung "Traitor" banners on his fence. It got so bad that Belichick’s wife at the time reportedly had to hide in the house with the lights off because people were constantly driving by and shouting threats.

Matt Schaub (Houston Texans, 2013)

This one was particularly intense because it involved fans actually confronting the player.

The Incident: During a season where Schaub set a record for consecutive games with a "pick-six," a group of fans drove to his house, stood in his driveway, and shouted obscenities at him while he was inside with his family.

The Escalation: They also took photos of his house and posted them online. The Houston Police Department had to set up a perimeter around his home for several days to ensure his family’s safety.

Carson Palmer (Cincinnati Bengals, 2000s)

This is probably the most direct comparison in terms of "trashy" behavior at a home. After several years of frustration with the team's management and on-field struggles, fans allegedly dumped bags of trash on Palmer's lawn. Palmer later cited the fan toxicity (including this incident which frightened his wife and toddlers) as a major reason why he eventually demanded a trade and threatened to retire rather than play for Cincinnati again.

lol they already knew him of course but at least they acted like they wanted him. The Eagles just kind of interview a bunch of guys and don't seem to care if they keep shopping around and whenever they make a decision it seems like they settle for what's left rather than really like a candidate to the point of wanting to make a quick offer. It's more of a perception pet peeve of mine than reality probably

I need some sort of auto skip for dumb arguments on the PHLY podcast. Goodness.

A league source told me that the Eagles are retaining Vic Fangio because he quote "did a great job”.

No one wanted the Eagles head coaching job in 2021. We made the playoffs year 1, the Super Bowl in year 2 and won the Super Bowl in year 4.

Picking the right guy > picking the big name

Honestly, I think they are doing a good job with the process. Everyone went crazy over McDaniel and Daboll. Reports say they were the top2 targets but who knows if that was even the case. Yeah, they are biggest names out there but that doesnt mean they were the best for the Eagles. Frankly, I didn't see either really fitting the culture of the team.

Right now, they are leaving no stone unturned and that is a good idea. You never know which of these might end up being a perfect fit and a great OC. I know trust the process is a bad phrase around here but, at this point, that is what we have to do and, ultimately what Lurie, Howie and the FO have to do

Odd we havent interviewed him - he would be my top target.

Experienced play-caller, balanced O, ran a great O at LSU with top talent, also managed to get his O to work without a great receving room

Silent with this team seems to be key, if we have not spoke to Brady and his camp, just all around ridiculous. And didn’t we interview him before hiring Moore in 2024? Interview may not be needed.

Brady has not done OC interviews yet. All his interviews have been for HC. His is currently Buffalo's OC and they would need to grant permission for lateral moves

An NFL source told me just like 5 minutes ago that the Eagles are still looking for an OC. Said source also said that the Eagles FO has their heads up their butts, and are snacking on Swedish Fish candy.

Shhhhhhh............

🫣🫣

Finally a Joe Ostman replacement!

KC Concepcion is a fun player. A team that will put him in the slot, and feed him WR1 targets could find a similar player to Amen-Ra St. Brown I think. He is also an excellent punt returner and sorta reminds me at a minimum, of what the eagles probably hoped Ainias Smith was going to be.
