When the game is on the line. I know my answer. Devanta. With AJ here he's underutilized and is forgotten for games at a time. When the game is on the line I want Devanta to be the 1st option and to get a lion's share of the targets. That guy knows how to get open. That's what stars do. I know. You're gonna say AJ is why he's this good and he opens up space for him. Devanta in his own right is that guy and I'd love to see him get that chance as the true nunber 1. I just think you can find a solid number 2 who maybe has more speed and we are fine there as a group. And not Quez Watkins. Lol. But this will be a doable task. We have a true 1 and that's more than half the battle there. And like Cooper as a 3. On top of that, still think that with Barkley and Tank emerging, we will try to be a run dominant team. I expect RG to be a road grader next year. Maybe Becton. I'm thinking Steen can go back to swing guard and be valuable in that role. Especially with Dickerson health issues on the left side. AJ is not totally needed on this team if we restock here correctly.

I just kind of think a lot of this smoke is his agent and him putting out there that he wants out. I’m not sure just replacing the OC is going to be enough to just make him happy. But I’ve also said this, I think some of his issue is related to his last big payday after 2026. Because he knows at the end of 2026, he only has $4 million in guaranteed money. I think if you gave him an extension, some of his unhappiness would go away. Not all of it but some of it. That said I don’t see the Eagles being the team that wants to give him an extension at 30.I'd also add it's not just WIP chatter or that felon guy saying stuff. It is them, but it's also Tim McManus and Zach Berman, two guys who don't just promote for clicks, put out hot takes or make things up. They are reporting and talking about it because it's a real issue no matter how much people want to pretend it's not.

I think it's just getting Davis and Goedert on long term deals to soften the blow in the near term. He's already pressed that "easy button" with everyone else. Maybe you can squeeze an extra mil or two with Mailata's deal, would have to check but I think we're running pretty low on options here.

Usually they don’t just say things to say it. Could they be wrong? Yeah they could. But usually those guys are more accurate. if McLane says something i tend to believe it’s coming from someone inside the organization. Although he hasn’t said much on it or i missed it.Like I said, I don’t want to trade AJ Brown, the talent. I love him as a player. But at this point if they have to, I start looking at what teams around the league could use him and what I could get that helps my team in the future and now. That’s why I mentioned buffalo with the made up offer i put out there. and New England. Cause they have players that you could get to come back and draft pick(s) that can solve a hole and you get a draft pick.

One of the risks is not having an easy out when something goes sideways with a highly compensated player early on in a long-term deal. Bradberry last season, AJ this season, maybe you can argue Hurts too if you think they've seen enough to know they need to look elsewhere. You end up carrying a player on the roster you would've moved on from sooner from had there been more options to avoid their cap hit.Yes, there are risks and also consequences. But if there is one thing you can say Howie is the best at, it's the cap. "the cap isn't real crowd" is just people being willingly ignorant and thinking Howie can do whatever he wants. All I'm saying is I'm not going to lose sleep over 2027 dead cap and extending core guys like Mitchell, DeJean, Carter etc. when he already has a process in place and a plan to navigate around the dead money.

Cause I’m guessing they could’ve gotten his cap number lower to give them more cap space

The last thing I want them to do is take OL because they think they HAVE to even if the talent doesn't match the pick slot. If the WR on the board is clearly the better prospect, you take him.

January 23Jan 23 It certainly feels like the Eagles are waiting something out for the OC. It would be odd for them to decide that Kafka who they interviewed a week ago is the guy at this point.

If you could convince him to write that off completely and replace it with a smaller signing bonus and guaranteed options in future years, yea you could lower his cap number. I'm just not sure how those negotiations would go.
January 23Jan 23 I don’t like this with Parker coming in, that and Q Williams and Whitecotton are pretty tight.Parker I think will be fine but I don’t wanna lose a really good coach that can make his transition to DC less stressful.

January 23Jan 23 Don't worry guys, we are getting that windfall of cap space from insurance payments for injured players some swore was coming when ESPN put out that one article talking about it.

Teams can also focus on the run and not worry.Again, you aren't drafting that guy high without pushing off OT, TE, or CB2 or OG or S or edge.

Stick a guy with decent speed opposite Devonta and no one will notice the difference. AJ isn’t scaring anyone over the top anymore. (Not the version we saw this season anyway)
