I wonder if the fans in Buffalo are calling into the radio station saying Josh Allen sucks because Mike McDaniel decided not to interview for their head coaching job

I feel like D.Jackson was in the conversation last offseason - since then JD has solidified his hold on the roster… so do we carry 2 NTs? Probably could get away with it since DT4 usually gets 2 snaps and DT5 is a scratch.

I think we need a legitimate backup for Davis. Feels like they have tried and so far failed. Still looking.

No, because he doesn’t. He might be reckless, but he can do all the things that a QB needs to do. And he doesn’t them without the perfect scenario around him that Hurts requires.

I think it's much more likely McDaniel cancelled his interview with the Bills for concerns about the organization(see, press disastrous conference a few days ago) or because he found out he was going to be a token minority interview. I do think there's a legit chance McDaniel didn't want to come here because he liked Herbert better than Hurts or a combination of that and the coaching setup with Sirianni.

I think there's copium going on right now where every time someone passes up another job people are going "See? All this talk about our job being unattractive is BS! We aren't the only ones being turned down!" Maybe they consider the Eagles and other teams unattractive, and for different reasons.

Yeah like that top oline he had this year and an offensive scheme that a high-school defense would blanket. It's amazing the excuses all the other qbs get if they can throw a football over a mountain. Good thing Allen won that SB. Err wait..

But yet he can't win when it counts, so this idea that QB play can overcome an incomplete roster is just so ludicrous. And against Denver in the Bills most important game of the season your QB crush had 4 turnovers personally costing them the game. Very rare for a SB winning QB to have a bad roster around them. Only the very best in the history of the game have done it, and not often. Only one current QB in the NFL that had that ability was Mahomes, all other starting QBs in the league need a talented, well rounded roster to win. When they don't have it they don't win. Allen, playoff loser; Burrow, career loser, Stafford all those years in Detroit was a career loser, Jackson playoff loser. Can't believe you all still believe good QBs can overcome weak rosters and they don't need a solid, well constructed team to win, even with the repeated evidence provided year after year after year.

McDaniel obviously had reasons he passed up Eagles job (or at least an in person interview). The reality is that the Eagles being 'unattractive' is based entirely on him and a report about Daboll that may or may not be true. The rest is just people who don't like Hurts or Sirriani projecting that no one wants to come here without any factual basis

I love these Josh Allen fondlers. Act like he's never had any weapons in the past. Had Diggs in his prime for a few years and Gabriel Davis as a deep threat. It's always one excuse after another with him. But here's the bottom line is when it comes to big games he comes up small and starts playing hero ball. Can't just toss out all of the mistakes he makes and overlook them because of the highlight reel plays. For this year he had an elite running game, top 5 offensive line and TE group. And Shakir is solid. It's not nothing.

For the record, this year Hurts had a hesitant RB, a damaged goods offensive line and a one trick pony TE & a 2nd TE who's horrific as a blocker. And a disinterested slowed down AJ Brown. And the worst offensive coordinator in football by far.

I'm not going to sit here and claim Hurts is better than Josh Allen so this is purely based on the Josh Allen can do everything comment.

Part of doing everything is the ability not to be reckless. Turnovers are literally one of the biggest factors in winning or losing games. If you're reckless than it's a losing characteristic.

Seems like Weaver will be the next guy hired imo. This action causes offers

Not picking on you specifically but Jalen did NOT win a Super Bowl. The team that Jalen was on won a Super Bowl.

At a minimum it seems like he wants to be in good weather and/or on west coast

Fun fact: His best friend is comedian Dan Soder (husband of TV personality Katie Nolan). But as for his personally quirks, I think he's just selective about the right fit. Fans of other teams will call him a nerd and weird but most of what can be said about him also applies to someone like Ben Johnson, and we'd all kill to have him as our coach right now.

That is the whole point!!! You finally get it. It takes a really good team to win. Even QBs like Stafford on Detroit ( and he had the greatest WR of his era) yet they still were a losing team, year after year.

Hurts recently had a game where he turned the ball over a lot

People love comparing team accolades with Hurts and other QBs because he has the advantage in that category. Then when they do compare the personal stats.. they’ll use the total stats because it helps again

Not many QBs have the supporting cast Hurts has had

Oh I've gotten it for several years. Others here, not so much.

And I think it’s funny that people refuse to acknowledge that one of the lowest volume passing QBs in the entire nfl whose passing has been on a downward trajectory for 3 years might actually render this job not desirable. Instead the most some of you will say "Hurts isn’t for everyone.”

Like he’s bluefin tuna or caviar or something…special but not for everyone.

He’s not a particularly good passer and it’s common sense, not projection, that would create pause amongst people who are considered passing game coordinators.

Yeah I was there. They lost that game. Which just shows how important turnovers are.

This is stupid talk. Hurts outplayed Mahomes in 2 different Superbowls. Should have won the first one if not for a no show by Bradberry and the defense. The 2nd one, Barkley was a non factor and he needed to step up. Became one sided because defense played with a huge lead and could pin their ears back with Milton Williams and Jalen Carter. Its called complimentary football. Hurts running and passing were significant.

Is there an OC on the 4 remaining teams we think the Eagles want to interview? My hope is LaFleur from the Rams.

Good news whenever an offensive head coach gets hired. Makes their OC less appealing.

Significant? Certainly. Did he win the games by himself? Not by a dam sight. I suspect that the Chiefs having 6 points at the end of the 3rd quarter had something to do with it.

Lol. Who wins a game by themselves? Lamar Jackson? Josh Allen?

And Mahomes won 2 Superbowls with the aid of a chamionship defense. It's a team game and Hurts more than showed up both games. Which is more times than 99% of the league.

Dang. I want him bad, but I get AZs interest.

I'm sure there are some that don't rate the eagles job highly and some that do. Regardless of who they hire the people who hate Hurts will still hate him. If they hire Joe Brady there will still be a reason and if they hire Matt Nagy then that will be presented as proof Hurts sucks. It's funny the old argument used on a QB used to be 'you could never win a Super Bowl with...' Now the goalposts have changed. I remember people saying years ago that even if the Eagles won the Super Bowl the fans would be negative and I thought let's just win a Super Bowl. But it was true.
