I'd take a job at Ohio State University over a stupid job with the stupid Eagles too!

And I'm German. I love Germany! 🇩🇪 Never been there, but I have heard good things. Beer, Bratwurst, Soft Pretzels, Castles, etc.....

.... red light districts...

I am as well and I've been there but it was back in the early 1990s when I was in the service.

Duke edge Wesley Williams has caught my eye both days so far in this drill.

FSU DT Darrell Jackson continues to be a load.

I feel like there is a tackle from Clemson looking pretty good here but I cant find his name on the roster.

either Blake Miller or Tristan Leigh according to PFF

So I asked the other night: Have we satisfied the Rooney Rule for OC if our meeting with McDaniel doesn’t count? I believe only Kafka counts as he’s Puerto Rican.

Am I forgetting someone?

Is there a different rule depending on position? Might it be 2 minority interviews for HC, but 1 for coordinator rules?

I don’t think we know everyone they met with really. We usually find out later they talked to guys we never heard about

Exact point I made a few days ago, Howie has done this before.

You talk to a wide range of people, gather outside perspectives on your schemes and personnel, and educate yourself and avoid group think.

And it gives you a better perspective on the small group you consider to be legitimate targets, since you have a basis for comparison in terms of their knowledge and ability to articulate their approach.

Nope. Two for coordinators too.

I tried making up a rule and hoping it was true. Now I dont know what to say.

When that happens it’s usually because a college coach wants it to stay quiet.

Been a few times. Had a crazy night playing poker at a casino in Hamburg…

Arthur Smith going anywhere else has been the best news of this OC search so far

I did some research on Grizzard. He was just promoted too fast. Wasn’t ready for the OC job and still isn’t. Needs a few more years under someone good.

Weis Jr interests me a lot. He’s been an OC in college for several years and teams.

Doyle seems too soon

KC couldn’t get rid of Nagy fast enough. That would be a disaster.

Kafka is uninspiring. It’s possible that if he had a fresh start away from Daboll he’d do better in another spot but hard to have faith in that

Cooter is a different version of Patullo. Could be much better but hard to feel great about the same tree

I could see the Eagles going for Thomas Brown if the top few fall through. He was OC under Reich in Carolina which was a disaster and he was OC in Chicago which was a disaster. But he did time under McVay and he’s passing game coordinator under MacDaniels in New England now.

He seems to be well thought of beyond his record and was even interim coach in Chicago.

A day or 2 ago I looked on igglesblitz to see Tommy's take on the OC search and was surprised it wasnt updated as recently as Id expect. Just saw this update today. For anyone who also did not know, he has colon cancer, but seems to have a good prognosis.

For those who want to know where I've been for the past week or so, here is what has happened.

You sold me.

off topic - I'm watching the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona on Peacock and one of the Michelien reps was reading Harry Potter and they gave a shout out to AJ last season when he was reading his book on the sidelines.

that made me laugh.

Lol I wasn’t selling just saying I could see them picking him after the big fish fall through and act like it was a patient plan. I don’t see him as a great offensive mind but admittedly just going by resume. Probably one of those guys that is actually better suited as HC than OC. He seems to get that respect.

Bring back Brian Johnson

Seriously. His resume is better than a lot of these dudes.

I actually appreciate the spirit of the Rooney Rule, but Anthony Lynn getting two last-minute minutes reviews to help make teams compliant for a as fraudulent as it gets. I hope he got a helluva meal with these interviews.
