Monday at 05:39 PM3 days With this roster, they don't really need the most genius creative play caller out there. They don't need top innovation or creativity. They don't need someone who's worked with big names per se. They don't need the "name" candidates everyone knows.What they need most is someone with experience calling plays, knowing what to call in the right moments of the game. And having a solid consistent process throughout the week in preparation. Multiple players have talked about not being on the same page and about process. Nick should be good at those things as well so what was he doing, but whatever. They should have the O line healthy again and likely some new additions (draft and free agency). They've got a great 1-2 punch at RB, two 1,000 yard receivers. We'll see about TE. And people debate Hurts endlessly and he's had ups and downs but he is capable of doing much more in the passing game, he did it in 2021 and 2022 under Steichen, even did better in 2023 under BJ (minus the INTs). A competent OC that has experience and knows how to coach to the players strengths will be a huge upgrade over Patullo.
