What it feels like hoping for daboll and not Nagy

I think Daboll would actually be a good hire

Daboll>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Nagy

I'm surprised Monken wasn't more of a top target for teams after what he did with Lamar. Did it come out that he really wasn't involved much when Lamar was playing like an MVP?

I used to watch Colin Cowherd show all the time. Mostly in the background while I work. Whenever Sean Payton would speak about Campbell he would always say how he was the best offensive mind he had ever had work under him during his tenure as a coach. High praise from a big time coach.

(Stopped watching when cowherd predicted we wouldn’t cross the 50 vs the chiefs)

I dont know. Nothing about Dan Campbell screams best offensive mind.

Maybe its true or maybe Payton was just saying nice things about him.

And Sirianni never stepped in to course correct all year long... not even the playoffs.

I would think Hurts or the WRs would say something if they were not cool with running so many hitch routes.

Sirianni doesnt seem like the type to say No if players came to him wanting to change something. Hell they did it last year when the O-line came to him and said we need to lean on Saquon and the running game more and he listened.

I think Hurts is more the type to just listen to the OC and do what he's told. AJ seemed to be the only personality that would speak out in the meetings (obviously). Smitty seems like the type that would speak up only after someone else had brought it up. Seems like we have a lot of introverts and the one extrovert is being publicly shamed by the fans

You can see these 2 are going opposite directions.

Brady didn't start out so good as an analyst but he's getting better at it.

Romo was kinda popular and something different when he started. Now he's just talking nonsense most of the time.

Romo comes into the booth with a buzz and leaves fully ish faced.

He’s either getting the Cleveland HC job or just going with harbaugh

That Browns job seems like more of a nightmare than usual. It's no wonder coaches keep saying no

Pro bowl QB, not too shabby.

I’m not sure anyone in their right mind would take that Browns job. Whoever it is will end up being a retread or a complete nobody more than likely.

I have no doubt it was brought up by the WRs and Hurts. I think all of the Brown hubbub was about that and just the terrible offensive scheme.

Watson, Sanders, and Sanders dad seems like more of a mess than any coach would want

I hope Andy Reid doesn’t call in a favor and have us hire Nagy who he clearly didn’t want back.

It can only be 2nd round of interviews. So if someone interviewed those guys already they can speak to them but they aren't allowed to start new interviews.

Which begs the question, why didn't the eagles interview any of them when they were able to? They took themselves out of the running for anyone still in by not doing even a quick "check in the box" interview. Once again, front office is failing a coaching search. At least this time they're failing over a longer period of time, they hired patullo 10 days after the super bowl ended last year (to really show how much of a sham their "search" was)

Feels like the writing on the wall is Monken following Harbaugh wherever unless he gets a HC job. The only OC job he interviewed was Tampa and that’s because he has ties to the organization. Other teams probably found out he wasn’t interested.

Getting to be slim pickings out there. Maybe it's time for a redemption arc.

So getting slapped with the "offensive genius" label by an already respected coach is a fast track to head coaching opportunities. So these guys throw that term around like pats on the back to do some of their buddies a solid. It was said about both Doug and Siri as both came here and we've clearly learned that wasn't true for either one.

And you know what? This is football. Not nuclear physics and not even chess. All of these coaches got the same communications degrees in college and the same intern coaching jobs through connections from their college coaches. Almost all of them have been on the staffs of failed offenses. There is no absolutely and abstract elevation of their teams just by them toggling on scheme open buttons that elude everyone else. Some have a better feel for the flow of a game and weaknesses that defenses are showing, others don't. And chaos, execution, and random chance have their share of the impact too.

I just refuse to believe that Mcvay or Mcdaniel so vastly superior compared to other less celebrated meatheads who are drawing up the same plays.

That's why I'm 100x more concerned about WHY the Eagles are struggling to get the hire they want than I am about WHO they actually end up settling for.

They really didn’t have that much time. They had one week from when they lost to the end of the divisional round. By the time they fired Patullo it was like 5 days. I also feel like in that week all the guys only took HC interviews and didn’t bother with OC openings. It would be hard to convince them to take an interview for a lateral or small upgrade while they are preparing for the next opponent.

I wish Gannon got one of these NFCE jobs instead of Packers.

The eagles are not failing anything.

The 1 guy a lot of people wanted was McDaniels and he got a OC job in sunny California. Stefanski also got a HC job.

Daboll is probably the most popular #2 option.

A lot of people had Monken in their top 3.

A bunch of people had Kingsbury in their top 3.

Daboll, Monken, and Kingsbury are still out there.

Now a lot of people would like Brady. He is still available too.

4 good candidates with experience are all still available.

Eagles interviewed a bunch of bright young guys who may not be ready. 2 of them removed their names today and likely werent getting the job anyway. If anything, that puts us closer to hiring one of those 4 aforementioned big names with experience.

Kafka got hired. No one really wanted him anyway.

What the hell are we actually missing out on and failing?

Good points except McDaniel didn’t get HC. He took Chargers OC

In any case lots of top guys still in play in theory. We’ll see where it ends up
