January 27Jan 27 IMO the Eagles absolutely have to stick to their plan and hire an experienced coach and playc caller. They can't risk having a weekly coaching deficit on that side of the ball again.
January 27Jan 27 Is there a remaining candidate that if announced wouldn't be a disappointment to fans?

January 27Jan 27 OK, well...it's now an embarrassment with Daboll going for Tennessee over us. I guess I am rooting for Jim Bob Cooter at this point to bring back some of Steichen's offense? Still confused what Kingsbury is doing. Can't see Scheelhaase coming here. If we hire Matt Nagy, I may lose it.
January 27Jan 27 Kingsbury and Monken are the only left, but it doesn't seem like they'll be happening.Mannion has played or worked under LaFleur, McVay, and Kubiak(Shanahan tree) so there's that. And Packers fans seem to love him though I doubt they have any idea how much he's responsible for their offense. If they get Mannion though they definitely have to also hire an experienced offensive coach, which they idiotically failed to do last season. Maybe there's where Nagy comes in. I still can't believe they didn't do that a year ago. Then you cross your fingers he's a bright young stud and you build a great staff around him. Moorehead and everyone but Stout can go.
January 27Jan 27 This is some interesting backtracking thought to "Tennessee expects Daboll to choose"

I think there is a reason the past 2 HC hires were teo off the radar guys no one else was considering that would come in and be fine being a puppet for the GM. Doug was until he won then he wasn't fine with that any longer.Howie has more power as GM of the Eagles than any other GM in the league, second only to Jerry Jones. Not an ideal situation for most coaching candidates.

That makes sense. Signing up to be the OC in Tennessee over here is a real indictment. It's reading like these stories are all coming from the Titans. Doesn't mean it isn't true, but still leaves the door very slightly ajar.
January 27Jan 27 Just to be clear, we have missed out on McDaniel because he only likes warm weather, and possibly Daboll because he promised his friend he would go be his OC.There are no others who have been hired that a. the eagles clearly liked, and b. fans even wanted.Yet, people are upset.

All the Schefters and Rapoports are making it seem like Titans is a done deal though.
