McDaniel would create a weird dynamic with Sirianni. If they give him full control of the offense which I assume would be his demand, why not just dump Nick and keep McDaniel if he can make the offense take off?

Because not every good coordinator works in the big chair. I don't think he has what it takes to be a HC.

My concern would be the inevitable politics involving Sirianni, the new OC, and Patullo, who is Siri’s buddy. That’s a recipe for backbiting, and questionable loyalties. No thank you. Sirianni has already made a bad decision promoting Patullo; no sense in compounding it. If he wants to keep Patullo they can both go.

The Eagles have never had issues like that before... ph34r

Patullo shouldn't be brought back in any capacity. When they did the demotion of Desai for the remainder of the season, that was one thing... but it ended after that disaster. Demotion and keeping him in the building does a disservice to him as well. Let him catch on elsewhere, take the lessons he learned here with him and maybe he can grow from it somewhere else. But, there's no benefit to him coming back here in any capacity. It can only turn out poorly. Clean break.

It seems people's hatred for Siri has clouded judgement. These people in here know that not every coordinator makes a good HC and yet they are acting like all we need is a good offense for the coordinator to just take over Siri's job.

I said the same thing as you last night. In addition provided examples of excellent offensive minds who didnt work out as HC. A list that includes the exact same names as the OCs we can hire this year. McDaniel and Kinsbury.

Siri would obviously be kept around because he excells at ALL of the team building aspects of the position that these OCs failed at. So you very much still need Siri.

Because McDaniel is a minority, he is black.

Yes. He is a stud.

Also, sucks that Monken is going with Harbaugh. I thought his interviewing with Tampa meant otherwise. That is one less name available. My updated list:

McDaniel, Daboll, Stefanski, Kingsbury

I think he’s overrated as well. He’s certainly not Lamar. And the concussion concern is a real one

Damn, guys. Harbaugh is locked in locked in. We’re in trouble.

I would hope any grown man could keep his phone in his pocket during an interview for any level job.

Hard to say yet but seems to have a high ceiling even if he is a cocky dbag

Monken can develop His Potential i think

It's sad that in 2026 it's a big deal to be professional and not look at your phone during a job interview.

It makes sense after working in a bin fire Dolphins team to use the following year or two to go into a more structured and well run team, as a learning opportunity for your next stop. One of the hardest things being a manager for a first time is not knowing everything. For an enquiring mind, the 2nd time around can be a lot easier.

What did McDaniel learn by working with that owner and FO? The best party spots in Miami?

He is of Sub-Saharan ethnicity

Daboll would certainly be an upgrade over Patullo and be a professional OC but not exciting

His dad's black, so he's half.

Harbaugh?

@just relax I agree that KP should not come back under any circumstance. In fact that just might keep us from landing a decent O.C.

The NFL subscribes to the one-drop rule, which seems a bit backward or at least reductive.

Agreed. Would it be exciting, no. Would it be a solid upgrade and possibly the right hire, yes. I really think it's going to end up being him. I don't see him getting a head coaching job and I would expect McDaniel to either take a head coaching job or take the Detroit OC gig.

Do you mean to say that coaches need to have two black parents in order to be considered truly black in the context of the Rooney rule?

Sure, also white. Caucasians are a lot of people.

Nah, half my family is Lebonese, they ain't white.

So she's still lying. Good to know

The one thing I'm curious about is if McDaniel and Saleh wpupd still qualify for that two 3rd round pick compensation since that already kicked in for them and they have already been HCs. Would it still apply again?
