January 31Jan 31 1 hour ago, Sack that QB said:It's interesting to hear how the different reporters talk about what they hear about the Eagles.McLane was on WIP some of the things he said:-Eagles internally want to run the Shanahan scheme and that's the direction they are heading clearly with these hires. Remains to be seen if they keep some of the Sirianni elements that Hurts likes or if this is a full on forcing Hurts to sink or swim with the Shanahan scheme, but that's the type of offense the Eagles brass wants to run. They think it's time to adapt.-Stoutland wasn't demoted, he wilfully gave up RGC duties as the season went on, talking with Sirianni and Howie, Lurie, etc and they realized the inside zone scheme isn't working as well anymore, teams figured out how to really stop it even though it's been their bread and butter so they all agreed for Stoutland to just focus on the OL and he's still all-in with the Eagles, he didn't view it as a slight at all or anything.-The reason the 2024 offense was better than the 2025 offense is because Moore had a no nonsense approach. He's tell Hurts "this is what we're doing" and was very matter of fact about it. Patullo deferred to what Hurts wanted all season and Hurts gained a lot more control over the offense. McLane said he knows that the Eagles brass had previously wanted to diversify the offense but in meetings and game prep Hurts flat out told the coaches he's not comfortable running certain things and isn't willing to do it.-Said the Eagles believe Hurts can run the Shanahan offense, but they really need to work with him to get him comfortable doing that type of offense and that's what this coaching staff wants to do.It's funny the divide when breaking down the Eagles and Hurts. You have the film people break down Hurts in the pros, Hurts in college, and go "Based on his film, there's no reason he should have trouble running certain offenses or throwing the ball to certain parts of the field."Then you have the reporters come out and so many reporters from McLane to Silver to Gunn to Russini have been talking about how basically the offense has sucked in recent years because Hurts is either unwilling or unable to adapt or try new stuff. So reading the tea leaves, this feels like a year where they throw Hurts into the fire and he either finds his way out and thrives or he burns and there's potentially a new QB(and possibly coach?) in 2027.I hope they just "unexpectedly" (for many) trade him this offseason. Why waste a year not knowing if he can run it and pribably failing. Probably getting the coach fired. Just get the right guy and hit the ground running.Actually, McKee should look amazing in this offense.

Third, listen/read the transcript of the entire context of that press conference and other things he said as well where he talked team first and submitting to what the coaches are doing and adjusting to the different voices every year. In addition, you replied to the post with the McLane comments and said you've been saying this... one of them said that Kellen Moore "had a no nonsense approach. He's tell Hurts "this is what we're doing" and was very matter of fact about it." So...in the same year of the press conference you linked, you also are believing that Moore had a no nonsense approach and told Hurts this is what we're doing. So which is it? Moore was no nonsense and told him what's what, or it was Hurts offense and run how Hurts wants? Ok, the actual quote after being asked his passing game after the team is dominant run and winning but he's not passing as much: "I think that's something that people have to accept that you know it's going to look how how Jalen Hurts wants it to look you know but he's going to win."(I personally think this was more of a cocky answer being annoyed at constantly all season being asked about his low passing numbers despite winning, he kept talking all year about winning is the only thing that matters. He was frustrated with it, and when he had a strong passing game later on he said "is that what you all wanted to see?" I don't think this quote or context of this press conference AT ALL indicated the offense is run the way he wants. It was about his style of play and that he doesn't care if he has low passing numbers, he cares about winning). The context: the Wed press conference after an "ugly" win against the Panthers where Hurts only threw for 108 yards and was getting criticism. He was asked about his style of play and adapting to the changes to coaching every year, and going run heavy with Barkley and how that impacts him with passing less.Throughout the PC, Hurts answered about the importance of the team, how impactful it was adding Barkley, taking accountability for himself and his play and recognizing the responsibility of the QB. He also said every year it's a different team, different coaches, different voices and different visions. (He's consistently said over the year he runs what is called. He's a coach's son). So if he's saying there are different voices and visions...how does that line up with being "his offense?" (This year he's complained about the offense not being aggressive enough and coaching to not lose, so how is that "his offense" if he's complaining about the coaching? That doesn't add up).8:29 Reporter question: you've had other uh difficult patches in your career I'm not saying this is because obviously you guys are winning, but um you did mention a couple things about how the offense has changed and how has it affect you. How have you found it best for you to get out of that and get back to playing the way you play when you're at your best?Jalen response: um you know I like I said I I've submitted myself to whatever it takes to win and so you know you look at the course of the years and we've had I mean different conversations for for who the most valuable player is, and um the recognition and whatever and it's all about the team at the end of the day. But you see different areas you know shining in different years and so um it's about the team yeah I don't care I don't care how it looks, um it's kind of my game. And I you know I think that's something that people have to accept that you know it's going to look how how Jalen Hurts wants it to look you know but he's going to win. So much the quarterback position matters so much so it's not wrong for you to say that you need to be playing a certain level or you need to be it's not cater things to help you, oh no it's not it's not wrong to say that. You know I think um I think from my vantage point you know I put emphasis on the importance of winning and what that is um definitely put an importance on on what winning and and what that is but but also um as you grow and as you evolve um the longer you can saturate yourself in something. You know the the more comfortable you can get in it and so as everything uh ends and begins with the quarterback myself um it's that's what it is. Hurts hater love to strawman every little thing Jalen says, every report, and then even go as far as to just fill in the blanks with whatever they choose to push their narrative. Most Hurts fans are reasonable and balanced and admit he has flaws, admit he had a down year, etc. I have always defended Jalen but I have said numerous times he had a down year and needs to be better next season. He also needs to stop being stubborn and accept harder coaching if he wants to take the next step. Clowns like Mike 30000 and Hazelton ego are completely incapable of having a reasonable conversation when it comes to Hurts and quite honestly it clogs up the blog threads way too much.

Let's look at the full quote and context. No, he did not say he would not open it up on offense. He wasn't asked about what he will or won't do. He was asked if he'd like to see it more. His answer was basically whatever helps the team win. (I also love that everyone says Hurts is just an empty quote machine and doesn't really say anything, then nit pick what he does say and spin it into a narrative and twist his words, cherry pick and leave out context.)Reporter question: After the NFC Championship Game last year, you mentioned "taking the hand gloves off” a little, and while you may have been joking, the offense did seem more open there and again in the Super Bowl. Is there any part of you that feels it might be time to do that more, or that you’d like to see it happen? Hurts answer: No—there really isn’t. For me, it’s always about finding ways to win the game. My mentality and desire to win have evolved over time because of my experiences, and everything comes back to winning. I’ve spent a long time being told I had to do things a certain way, and doing it the way everyone wanted didn’t get me the win. That’s something I carry with me. I’m speaking specifically about moments like the pregame speech before last year’s final game, about proving yourself on the big stage. When you put too much energy into the product or the performance, you can lose sight of the main thing, which is winning. That loss did nothing but motivate me from that point on—to find ways to win regardless of how it looks. My input and voice won’t be about projecting a certain image of the game; it’s simply about finding ways to win. That’s all that matters to me, and I want the team to have that same mentality and assertiveness. His answer was essentially that it's not about personal performance but continuing to do what it takes for the team to win. He didn't say that he would not do something asked by the coaches, he was asked his opinion if he feels he'd like to see it more. Obviously they had just won the SB so to say "it didn't get me the win" means listening to outside criticism and trying to do things that satisfy outside voices isn't what got him the win. Given the context of his season-long criticism about his passing performance, he's referring to not doing things just because others are critical or want to see it a certain way. His answer means he's not going to push for his individual pass performance more and stick to doing what is best for the team to win. I mean, the guy is an endless quote machine about team and winning for years. Later question: How much has your approach changed over the years when it comes to that, um, assertiveness within an offense?Hurts answer: Well, I think those things are earned, and I think, you know, from staff to staff and from coach to coach, that changes in how much they listen. Ultimately, you want to go out there and have a sense of comfort in what you’re doing. You want to be open and be embracive of new things, and that’s something I’ve always prided myself in. And so, regardless of what the journey is, what the journey has been, or what the circumstance is, I just sit there and have a mentality of giving, being my best self given the situation, and being the best that I can be. I just keep working and working and really keep striving to improve, and inevitably it will come.So Hurts constantly talks about putting the team first, team winning, running the plays that are called, being vocal that the coaching should be more aggressive and not coach to play to lose, constantly defends criticism about his low passing numbers that it's not about him and individual performance. Then one time says he's tried to do things the way others told him and it didn't get me the win and all of a sudden he only cares about himself? LOLCriticizing his passing makes sense and is valid. Knowing everything we do about him, his character, his talk about team and thinking that he only cares about himself or that he wants to dictate the entire offense is completely absurd and WIP/Twitter troll level.

January 31Jan 31 There are also different takes about "sources" of information coming from the team. This week alone we've heard that:There are leaks in the front office for years that are solely the narrative that the front office wants in the media to sell their decisions, especially to tarnish the image of someone they're going to fire, cut or trade. Others have said that players or coaches on the hot seat (like Patullo), or their agents, put out false information to make themselves look good, or to blame others. Then there are reports that contradict each other, like Moore told Hurts what's what but also Hurts refuses to do certain things so which is it? People say Hurts doesn't want to open up the offense, but he himself says in interviews they "took the straight jacket off" and he wants to be more aggressive and doesn't like playing not to lose. We heard that Stout was demoted, then heard that it was his decision after all. Fangio is retiring, but wait he's not, but wait he's talked about it for years (but it was never reported until now). Yeah, reporters love hanging onto juicy details and not reporting them, waiting 2 years before releasing what they knew all along. The Eagles are giving full autonomy to the next OC... or that's not happening at all and it's still Nick's offenseYou never know what's true, there is always drama with this team.Btw, Jason Kelce has always been a company man. He defended Chip Kelly. He ripped the fans who complained about Reid when they were losing. This year he defended Patullo and blamed the players for not executing better. Kelce is always going to say whatever is in favor of the organization.
