He's still under contract in CLE for 2 more years. They'd have to let him out of it and they have not yet

I’m curious what he does beyond coaching the receivers. The Eagles have kept him on staff a long time despite the receivers never appearing to be well coached.

I think he was just a Howie 'find' from college ranks in Doug's last year and he wanted Sirriani to keep him and they haven't turned over any position coaches besides QB

Id like a WR coach, and if we have an opening for run game coordinator, Id want someone from Denver or Chicago. Those are the only 2 teams Ive seen man handle our excellent defense. Ill take some of that here.

Maybe, but these position coaches often are tasked with specific projects — short yardage, 2 minute, trick plays, third down, etc. I’d love to know what he does.

Jim Schwartz runs a completely different system than what we currently run. I wouldn’t want to bring him back if it came to that

I suppose at this point beggars can’t be choosers. Schwartz is a damn good DC, and overwhelmingly likely to be better than a Fangio knockoff.

Interesting that Eagles never considered Kingsbury. I think it's because he can't get along with anybody. Has a bad rep now

Feel like this would make him more likely to stay as dave is content with the Phillies roster. therefore he doesn’t believe they’re capable of winning the whole thing so why invest more time and more free time to invest in on his job

I want Fangio back for as long as he wants to coach. But the concern is you get a year from now he does retire. Who is going to be available at that time? There’s a chance there’s not a coach/DC out there that is in remotely as good as Jim Schwartz. It’s a tough situation for the eagles as Fangio is the best out there and in a year might have to replace him with less than ideal options than someone like Schwartz  

Looks like Schefter had the intel after all. Vic retiring now would be completely devastating. Howie couldn't have had this worked out behind the scenes to keep Parker in house with the DC job all but guaranteed for next year? Just pay him coordinator money now, have him do more with Vic.

Dallas defense only going up from here, Giants will get better. We will be sliding down back into the pack. We have a down year and it's rebuild next year after we could've been dynasty mode. Why is this not surprising.

That and he isn't very good as a pro coach. So glad we didn't pursue him. Happy that the Giants are. Losers stay losers.
