I'm going to miss Nakobe. When healthy, he's a heat seeking missile on the field.

But, I'm excited to see what Campbell can and will do. His athleticism is like crazy hella good. He hopefully gets a chance to wreck up Offenses.

Could you imagine if Gannon said sure I'll come back and that's what Howie & Lurie did?! Wow, for them to think that would've been a good idea is seriously concerning.

I really think it would’ve been a full court press for Schwartz. Frankly with the talent we have it’s a super attractive job and moreso than the offense you’d have autonomy.

They reached out to Gannon. It could've happened.

Jim Schwartz runs a completely different system than what we currently run. I wouldn’t want to bring him back if it came to that

Don't be shocked if the name Sean McDermott is brought up if Vic retires. Was DC In Philly after Jim Johnson for a year.

It will be a total disaster if Vic ends up retiring before the season.

I feel like our Eagles just didn't have the hunger this season. Which is ok, and understandable, coming off the season they had last year.

Hopefully, they get that hunger back next season. 🦅🦅

Just cause you reached out to someone does not mean that they were/are the frontrunner. Also said they considered Gannon, which most candidates you’d interview you consider for the job. I’m guessing they probably would’ve reached out and considered more people if they knew Fangio was definitively leaving. Probably knew those two had experience here and potentially available given their situations. Im guessing Parker and hurtt would’ve been in that mix. Kind of think al Harris would’ve also been in the mix. I also have a harder time believing they bring back Gannon with options available with the way it ended and definitely not their first choice. The Eagles were pissed off enough to basically force the Cardinals to swap third round picks. That doesn’t remotely happen with most coaches.

IMO kind of funny Gannon’s name popped up after he was hired by the packers over a week ago. Tbh more I think about it, Gannon feels like a fallback option (if he didn’t get another DC job) if Fangio retired they couldn’t get Schwartz, hurtt and Parker took other OC jobs before Fangio committed to retiring.

Going from Fangio to a regular DC takes us out of Super Bowl contender status.

It's worth the risk trying to keep him.

Definitely an underrated factor here. A perfect storm of different things factoring here to work against them. Hungry dogs run faster! In spite of that, it was an open tournament for only a "very good" team to win the trophy. And a lost opportunity. Should bother them greatly, if they are any good.

I tend to agree with solak. We saw with Schwartz having OK corners and sometimes less than ideal corners be able to run his defense. saw in 2018 he was able to maximize a defense with a bunch of injuries by the time the playoffs came around. He can do more with less and he was going to have more here in 2026 unless we had a rash of injuries. To me the issue with Gannon besides the fact that he was a complete dbag in the way that he left, is he has yet to show as a DC or HC he can get more from less. The issue is going to be you’re gonna eventually lose some guys as you can’t keep everybody on this defense. So if god forbid Fangio retired, want a DC that gets more from less and preferably one with experience.

assume Schelhasse becomes the OC of Rams

I was hoping Kubiak would opt to stay so he could be available in the event the Eagles need to fire Sirianni in a year. But at least it weakens the Seahawks. Glad we got the OC taken care of before the other jobs opened up.

Coaches who could be available next year: Steichen, Kevin O'Connell, Udinski, Mannion, Scheelhaase, McDaniel, Doyle, etc.

Watch we keep talking about getting a young O coach and they’ll hire McDermott

Hopefully it doesn’t come to having to fire Sirianni because it means we did well. rather us be doing well and having success then having to look forward to firing coaches. However, if we have to, then you basically are firing everybody on the staff besides maybe Stoutland. Chance Fangio retires ant the end of 2026 anyway so whoever comes in for that head coaching job is gonna get to pick his OC and DC.

Tbh i could see them doing like they did with Doug. where they hired Schwartz to be the DC then hired the HC.

Based off what Berman said, Doyle and Weiss had a lot of traction. I tend to think those guys would be high on their list. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that

Agreed, also eagles rarely land the top candidate.

Well I think the Eagles could have another season where they win 11 games and do generally well, buy if the offense still looks like it's stuck in second gear and/or Jalen Hurts doesn't play well and their season ends in the WC round or even divisional, especially because of the offense not performing well enough, I think Sirianni is done, perhaps Hurts too, and 2027 could be kind of like a mini rebuild year starting with their best offensive guru they can hire as head coach and potentially a new QB.

I heard he is taking at least a year off then wants to return as a HC, not DC.

Might as well get paid while doing nothing then you'd be a top candidate for a HC job in 2027. Dont see him coming here as DC.

Tbh if the offense struggled again and they fail to

Take a step forward this year, then I think everybody’s getting fired. There’s a high likelihood that Fangio retires anyway so if that happens a good chance it’s a brand new staff offensively and defensively. maybe Stoutland‘s back at the offensive line coach.

I still think hurts is here through 2027. Looking at his contract, the line of demarcation for them is end 2027. Like with aj brown his contract was basically a line of demarcation after 2026. When it made the most sense to split. Although I do believe the Eagles will have a plan in motion with quarterback if hurts isn’t good or isn’t good enough in their eyes in 2026. Don’t see them sitting on their hands without a plan going forward. That’s not how the Eagles tend to operate. That’s not how they operated in 2021 then going into offseason of 2022.

His defenses are the reason Josh allen hasn't been to a super bowl
