Meaning they couldn’t have hired Kubiak as OC he was already taken. And within cap doability.1) Trade up for Josh Simmons as RT of the future instead of Campbell. I love Campbell, but they could re-sign Dean or draft a LB this year in a loaded class. They desperately need an OT of the future and a guy fell in their range last year who’d have gone much higher if not for the knee. I don’t think an OT available this year will be as good as him in their range, and you don’t want to replace Lane with any OT. The ideal is a drop off as small as possible.2) Hire an OC from outside the organization. Maybe Weis Jr? Pick your name. And give them full control of the offense.3) Draft a CB2 or an edge in round 2/3. Whether it’s trade up, trade down, etc. I think Campbell will end up being really good even though my first choice in this exercise is replacing him with Simmons. So I don’t think that pick will ever be viewed as bad, but I’m not sure how well the Mukuba and Robinson picks will age. Probably not great. Weakest draft they had in a while. As we saw with Epps it’s much easier to replace safety than some other positions and I think they’d be better positioned long term if they had better long term prospects at Edge or CB2 instead of safety in Mukuba and a DT in Robinson who probably won’t play much again in 2026.#1 would not have helped them this year. In fact they would not have had Campbell while Dean was out. I liked Simmons coming out but he played like half the year and has a lot to prove. Missed a lot of his senior year and people would have said Howie drafted another injured guy.#2 goes without saying3 Agree. I have not been sold on Mukuba as he is very slight. Not short or anything just slight which was obvious when he was being interviewed at his home on draft night. Not sure you can add much weight on that body. Look at that 3rd round and the Eagles passed on a lot of good players including Xavier Watts.

Campbell was a luxury pick when OT was the need.

But I'm more concerned about the future. I think that would be a far more important future piece than an off ball LB. Especially if Fangio retires and the next DC doesn't utilize LB as much.

February 4Feb 4 No wonder Siri liked himCoincidentally, playing "Stumpy" in "the position room" is also how @TheLeadCommander spends his Saturday night.
February 4Feb 4 Acho really said the Eagles had good DCs before, but never won a Super Bowl until they had Fangio
