If you let Phillips go, you better have a suitable replacement lined up somewhere. Draft, FA or trade. Hunt and Nolan are not a Super Bowl winning starting pair of Edges, that much is pretty clear. Their pass rush from the Edge sucked this season. And only improved a bit when Phillips was acquired. If that's your pair of starting Edges in 2026, this team is not going to a Super Bowl. And if it is Fangio's last year, he deserves better.

It's not like Phillips was a dominant force. I think part of the reason sack and pressure rates went up was due to Jordan Davis's improvement and Carter's return to health. Edge is a need but the team has finite resources and moving on from Phillips may be a necessity in order to keep a younger player.

It would be great if they extend Davis and Carter. I would worry that keeping Phillips would impact their ability to keep Hunt. I would hope Likely would cost less than 9-10. I would be fine if they kept Adoree Jackson over Newsome. Newsome is probably staying in Jax. He also is probably going to get more than Jackson. I don't think there's any way Kamren Curl costs less than Reed. I think people are expecting him to get in the $10 million a year range. I would rather they keep Reed for less money.

Not really a Curl fan. I still remember Barkley running by him all last year like the guy had cement shoes. Washington didn't re-sign him after his rookie contract was up and the Rams signed him to a modest two year contract and now he is a FA again. I would hope they can do better.

I'm pretty sure the answer is Josh Harris is cheap as hell with liquidity issues.

POS if that is the case. Easier ways to get under the cap then to dump him for that. I have no problem moving the kid but get something.

He isnt. He spends a lot on his teams and the Sixers are one of the most profitable sports organizations in the country.

I Fing hate Harris. If this is a salary dump for tax purposes he is an idiot for just not dumping Drummond or Gordon

Now I'm torn. He's obviously an idiot....so do I hope it's for tax purposes or VJ is about to get moved to Milwaukee? One is bad the other catastrophic. It would be such a 76ers thing to trade two young assets for old ass vets that won't get things done.

feeling like shams explaining it as it’s to duck the tax. But please tell me Harris spends money when’s he around ways to duck the tax multiple seasons now and giving up a young player who has promise to do to. It should’ve been red flags that the Okc wanted him and they have constructed one of the best rosters in the league

Look at how profitable the team is while he dumps a talented kid to get under the cap. So like Vikas said he's a cheap SOB

Sports is always awesome. Politics and religion we can do without in here.

It's a loaded Edge class. It's the strongest position in the draft. High probability Edge is BPA for Eagles at 23 when OL is their biggest need. Will be interesting to see what they do because they need OL badly. I'd love getting TJ Parker at 23 he's a stud. Not to mention if someone like Bain falls to them.

I don't know how many times I've heard this draft is deep in a position and Howie lets everyone else run on that position while he avoids it in the early rounds and tries to get late value at that position. I'm not saying he won't, if the right value falls to him, but they usually pick up the good value at other positions that fall due to a focus on the deep draft position.

He’s getting less 2.5% ROI on the football team, and how much of that $6B sale was backed by debt… mind bottling.

Getting under the luxury cap is Josh Harris' Championship. There is nothing they will do with those assets or flexibility to improve the team. They are less talented now then they were a few hours ago and retaining guys they already have doesn't change that. Sixers & Phillies are competing to see who can do less to change

Hunt is my #1 priority out of the 3 EDGE guys.

I don’t know what to make of Phillips. He gave a spark initially but kinda fizzled out down the stretch. Smith didn’t have a good year but a lot was likely due to the SB injury and then tweaking it midway through the year.

Phillips definitely was responsible for a few ints. I remember 2 late in the season where he hit the arm of the QB.

He was disruptive. He didn't always get the sack but he was usually the one moving the QB off their spot and into other DL or forcing them to get rid of it before the play developed.

Phillies needing a cleanup hitter or top 4 hitter since Rhys got hurt and continuously using bs excuses to avoid doing it. Look forward to Bohm and Garcia failing miserably in the cleanup spot while Dombrowski tells us just gotta get hot at the right time for the 4th consecutive year

Avoiding the luxury tax is a great way to improve profits. His graphic is proving the point FFS.

Now this would have caused a riot in Philly...

Saw that. Interesting tho Greg Olson seems most likely.
