Can’t even imagine what a mess this whole thing is behind the scenes. Must be some good tea.

Running a new scheme is important. Didn’t seem like he was onboard with that. The league is filled with new running schemes

Great idea. If he wasn’t already signed by the Vikings

To be fair the run game last season sucked

Wasn't it reported someone said no because he wanted his own Oline coach too?

Kingsbury but that was 2024

I think that happened with Hackett though I don’t know if he officially signed on the dotted line before he went to the Cardinals.

Turns out he did have big news

Vikings announced him as signed. Hackett was reportedly joining but the team didn’t announce it I don’t think

Can’t wait for the stories of behind the scenes of the team under Sirianni

Curious why he didn’t just drop the news then? Wonder if Stout was still mulling over the decision at that point

It was time for a change in run game. If this wasn't happening when all the other negativity was around it would be seen differently

That was before they even hired an OC. It would have been premature and there probably wasn’t a firm decision. Berman also said he was hearing something a day later but didn’t have a strong sense on it and didn’t want to say at the time but would see what he could find in the following days.

What I mean is if OLC is better job, then I don't think it matters if he signed officially because it'd be a promotion and Vikings couldn't block it.

We're a Fangio retirement away from this being sirianni's guaranteed last year as the HC. Right now id say he's got a 50/50 shot and it all hinges on mansion succeeding

Sirriani is presumably a bad offensive year away from being gone. Nothing changes that. Losing Stout hurts but if the only way to keep him was to run the same running scheme then I understand. Even Kelce said they looked disjointed like the running scheme and passing scheme were not connected. I’d rather try something new tbh. If Sirriani is gone then Stout was unlikely to last into another new regime anyway

Wouldn't really surprise me if he just threw that to the wall and then this happened and now he's claiming he knew all along

The only promotions I’m aware of is considered as Coordinators, Head Coaches or GM’s. Everything else would be considered lateral since it’s one assistant coach to another assistant coach.

It's possible Stout is old & just didn't want to go through yet another change in offensive scheme.

It’s Adam Schefter, not WIP

No everything has to be because of Sirriani or Hurts. Nevermind that Stout has been with Sirriani for 5 years which is a lifetime in nfl terms

Not to be overly dramatic(I would never!) but given how loaded the 2027 draft is projected to be, part of me wonders if the best thing for the future of the organization is to just rip the band aid off, have everything go terrible in one year instead of spreading it out over multiple years and get a high draft pick in a loaded draft out of it. I’m not there yet, but if Fangio and Lane retires I will basically be there.

I prophetically brought up the possibility of losing both Fangio and Stoutland as soon as we lost our playoff game. The point being, if we lose an OC, DC, and our OL coach, we should just lean in to the nuclear option and trade Hurts as well. Because thatll be too much to overcome. So you may as well rip the bandaid off all at once and get to work on eating that dead cap charge.
