I do think aj was on his best behavior when talking at the SB. I Ala think he believes some of the things he said I’m also guessing he and his agent are aware If he goes out and says, I want to be traded and create that circus. Probably actually makes it harder for the eagle to trade him. We all know the eagles are not gonna trade him unless they get what they seem as worthy value for him. You’re not gonna trade him if he kills his value and potential market saying he wants to be traded and all this other stuff at the Super Bowl.

I am curious to hear what is said at the combine cause that’s usually when you get a lot of rumors and things heat up

So basically AJ can't win here. He says the right thing and it's "oh, well he needs to be

on his best behavior to get traded". If he speaks out of turn saying he would like to move on, then he's a jerk and a bad teammate. So in essence he can't win, even if he is being honest and genuine. Unbelievable

It will shape up to be an interesting off season.

I want Reed and Nakobe back. At a fair price. I don't know what that price is though.

JD gets extended, Mann too.

The O Line, yeesh, that's turning out to be a slight mess. Not sure what to do there.

This is Vic's last season, so a new D Coordinator will be a priority.

Ridiculous. Any team that would give up a 2nd rounder for that fraud is idiotic.

The view simply from an eagles standpoint, the Eagles aren’t trading him unless they get the value they want. If AJ Brown goes to the Super Bowl and says I want be traded and not be here anymore. Then airs some things out as well. You think that helps the eagles in their value in a trade? It very much doesn’t. If aj does that does it help him with his next contract with just $4 mil guaranteed after 2026? No it really doesn’t. Because teams are gonna be more weary to give draft capital and him that type of money if he’s just gonna demand trades publicly and they could be in the spot in a year or two

If he’s on his worst behavior, he is only hurting himself with money and the eagles ability to seek trade value to get a trade done if that what he truly wants. So simply sitting there and acting like a jackass would not help him.

I am not saying he wants to stay or he doesn’t want to stay. But when I am saying to you is there’s a reason why he wouldn’t go all out demanding things, saying he doesn’t want to be here and just air out dirty laundry if that’s how he truly feels. Imo I don’t think he cares if the fans and media thinks he’s a jerk or bad teammate. He said what he said during the middle of the season people called him a bad teammate and a jerk. So i dont think he’d care about that aspect. but what he does care about his money and future contract that’s coming up relatively soon which acting that way would not be beneficial.

I understand we’re talking about humans and they have feelings, but could they not understand the situation? Carter is a stud. Davis is the NT. Ojomo was ready for a bigger role at like 5 percent of Williams’ cost.

Positive ROI…we got a SB and more than likely a higher pick than we took Hurts at for him?

I could be wrong, but didn't Williams turn down extension offers the year prior?

Believe there was a report recently during the season they tried to get it done an when they didn’t they knew they couldn’t match whatever he was going to get. his klutch sports hoodie during clean out day felt very much like he knew what was going down

He doesn’t deserve any slack what-so-ever and he brought every bit of criticism on himself. Tommy is right. He can’t be trusted. He can say all the right things but the eagles know better and will have to be 100% sure he’s bought in. He’s caused an issue every single year.

Yeah, Brown’s active and aggressive moping throughout the season means a helluva lot more than some words on a podcast.

I wouldn’t say he can’t be trusted. But I viewed this in a PR scope. For the Eagles, if he truly wants to be traded (who knows at this moment on our end), they aren’t trading him unless they get the value they believe he is worth. So it does not help them if he goes out there airs out dirty laundry, makes demands and kills their leverage. Furthermore it could hurt the market because teams see him doing that I don’t want get involved as he’s doing this while eagles paid him, got to 2 SBs, one won and he had some of his most productive nfl seasons there. Add on the Eagles are now in a tougher spot leverage wise as either trade him or hold him hostage. Not ideal. Whether or not he wants to be traded, the illusion or he actually wants to be here benefits them regardless.

For AJ Brown himself it does not help him either. From what I said before. But also, he only has $4 million guaranteed money after 2026. He needs a contract extension. If he goes and does the opposite of what he did then there’s gonna be a teams weary about wanting to pay a guy at 30, declining production and going around media row at the SB bashing a team/organization that gave him 2 extensions and helped him be very productive. It’s a bad look for him and his agent when in a year from now you’re gonna be asking for an extension for whatever team and you just went out of your way to force your way off that team and organization. A team that’s paid him pretty well and been one of the most successful organizations over the last 5 years isn’t a good look

I don’t necessarily think he is hellbent on being traded. But I don’t think that rules out the fact that he could want to be traded. Either way, him coming off being content and happy (genuine or not) being in Philadelphia helps him either way if he wants to stay or if he wants to be traded.

Pointing out if he hurts his value, anyone think the eagles are gonna just trade him away at a lower value? No. So going that route publicly at the SB really doesn’t make any sense (whether wanting to be traded or not) which a good agent and good organization probably explained it to him.

This is why I want them playing together. I don't want to move on from Campbell. I want them both on the team. Baun is not a long term answer here. We all say Howie is a genius right? There's no reason not to believe that Howie can structure Dean's contract to work with Baun's contract so Dean is cheaper this year and then pay him more once Baun is gone in 2027.

Makes no sense when you have Baun and we spend so much time nickel. Dean simply isnt a smart way to leverage cap dollars. Neither is Blankenship.

In that same podcast Brown is saying Patullo did a tremendous job. So if you believe in the part he wants to stay, do you believe him there too?

I’m not suggesting he throws him under the bus but there’s no need to defend a guy already stripped of the title, replaced, and likely on his way out the door. If you are going to take him at his word for parts but not believe all, it’s the same as people not believing he’s sincere about being here.

Also if he’s being honest about Patullo then it kinda proves a new OC isn’t going to fix his unhappiness.

It's very possible his issue is with Hurts and not Patullo. Which is why we are still hearing trade rumors even after Patullo is gone.

KP did a great job of feeding AJ the ball which derailed the offense and they went through their losing stretch. AJ was never happier this season than during that time.

I believe NOTHING that AJ Brown says.

It's funny, because in a couple of years he'll be out of the NFL and no one will give a Eff about him or what he says.

Yup. To me, that interview was a good PR move by the Eagles, Brown and his agent whether he wants to be here or not. For the eagles if he wants to be traded, create the illusion that he is OK being there. it gives the eagle more leverage in a trade. Cause he’s fine staying here cause he’s happy here. So it’s not really them holding him hostage. Creates a we are only trading him if you blow us away or the value we believe it makes sense to trade him. If it is genuine that’s even better for the eagles as he’s on this roster in 2026

For brown, he comes off well to the fans. Either he really wants to be here and fans love hearing it. Or if he wanted to be traded it optically it looks like he wants to be here. Fans will eat it up. Again IF he wants out not forcing it and airing out dirty laundry makes him look better. Very important as he’s on the verge of needing an extension with just $4 mil guaranteed after 2026. It is much harder for him next off-season to ask for an extension at 30 years old, his production has declined already. Then add on top of that he’s airing out dirty laundry about an organization that’s been one of the most successful over the last half decade but also treated him pretty well and yet airing out grievances publicly and making it very messy

Nice story to say now, but several mic'd up moments through the playoffs after a big play, and after they won the SB his first immediate comment was "I'm gonna get PAID!"

He only cared about money, spare me the tears.

His klutch hoodie worn during clean out day was pretty much telling

Speak for yourself, he helped transform this team and offense and is a main reason why we won a Super Bowl, which will never be forgotten.

For all the little musings in this whole saga, my feeling on it hasn't changed for months.

I don't believe AJ's discontent with the Eagles is personal, like we see with other stars in sports sometimes where they either hate ownership because they got snubbed or hate coaches because they don't get along. I think AJ's is entirely driven by being fed up with a crap offense.

I don't think AJ is in a mindset of "I hate Philly I can't be here anymore"

I think if he believes the offense will be better, this really isn't much of an issue. If he stays and the offense sucks again, then he will be miserable again.

I also believe the narrative that he dogged it during the season was vastly overblown and was largely projection by having the preconception that he's miserable already on the mind.

The two exceptions are if Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown hate each other and one or the other told the Eagles brass they can't be on the same team anymore. I don't believe this is the case, but I don't know for certain.

And the other is if Howie believes AJ Brown is about to start on a major decline and thinks this is the offseason to get full value for him before he falls off a cliff. Which I also doubt.

But I've seen nothing from this relationship to think any bridges are burned. I think Jeff Stoutland hates the Eagles right now more than AJ Brown does.
