Those are all things you like about him as a player. Which brings me back to my original point which is you keep making this general and are too dang stubborn to point out of the nuance of this conversation. In a team sport with a salary cap moves aren't made in a vacuum but you keep acting as if they are. You have yet to explain why it's so important to invest cap dollars in him when there are numerous other positions of need that don't have a first round pick currently on the roster ready to take those spots like with Campbell at LB.

Which i'm down for, he's put on some of the best halftime shows. It's an awesome song. I think I've watched the video and people dance to it on YouTube like 456 times. Yes, I'm bored. 🤓

Can’t believe his reaction wasn’t towards the upteenth time Patullo called a hitch and I strongly suspect that hamstring lingered and impacted his speed somewhat. I honestly saw frustration, probably as much in himself as anything. I want him and Smitty back.Dotson on the other hand has just about played himself out of the NFL. He has basically shown that his hands and speed are good enough for decoy but his awful route running isn’t. He has a bad case of fast receiver disease. Happens to a lot of WRs with speed. They get so used to speed only as separation that they never learn the finesse moves. They also tend to be two step stop or turn guys. I remember one of DJax’s first touchdowns where he was running fast with the CB, did a little one step change of pace and then burst, with the CB flat footed by that hesitant step. Dotson, in comparison seems to be one speed.I watched Darius Cooper last summer and in week 18. Much better route runner, more body control and use. Already better than Cooper. Kind of reminds me of early Kupp, similar body type. (Darius is shorter by a few inches but also faster.I hope Mannion and Grizzard develop a five man receiver rotation. Mostly Smitty and Brown as starters but letting them play from the X, Y and Slot positions. Get Wilson seeing some of those fades, Cooper getting reps and a WR with speed and hopefully good hands and route running. (Why can’t the Birds stumble on a Nucua. Or a Shakir (Wetjen comes to mind).Never been a fan of Dotson as a WR. He doesnt have any unique or high level traits, hes not big/tall, so not a bog target with a large catch radius, hes not especially fast, I mean hes not slow but hes not a burner either. Hes not super quick in and out if his routes and cuts, hes not a particularly dangerous run after the catch guy or a gadget guy and its not like he can fill the role as a dirty work WR who blocks on the run game and can convert on 3rd down.Hes just a very average WR, kinda like Fred X except Fred X occasionally delivered.

Whether you like AJ or not, his impact on the field without making catches, impacts the whole offense. That’s a pretty average wr core without him. Especially with Dotson and cooper
