How so?

Carter missed 1 game when Dean was in.

Jalen Carter missed week 6, 14-16

Nakobe Dean missed week 1-5, 16-17

Best ability is availability. Dean doesnt have it, sadly

Curious to see if NDSU has JMU type success with the transition to FBS.

JMU has serious funding. Does NDSU have that same support? I think it might be a mistake. Being a powerhouse, still getting transfers and winning titles at the next level down isn't a bad thing. I think JMU is going to even off sooner than later. They are never going to be a powerhouse, just a competitive school. As a UD fan, while it was fun to see them make a bowl in their first year, I prefer the playoff system of FCS over the FBS system. I've come to the realization that I'll never see UD win a title again, but hey maybe they make the PopTart Bowl?

Being a football fan and skipping the Super Bowl is just weird.

Because you are grossly overestimating Deans impact. Opponents were weak and Carter came back

Bro don't bother. Dude thinks Nakobe Dean is prime Derrick Brooks. Trying to have a common sense discussion with him when it comes to the nuance and big picture of bringing back Nakobe is like trying to talk sense into a maga cult member. He can't/won't even admit that the team is better off with Baun and Campbell at LB and investing the cap dollars it would take the re-sign Nakobe into CB2 or S for example, Campbell (last year's first round pick) wasting away on the bench, and Less money to spend on the numerous other needs the team has.

If utilized properly, Smith can be a top 10 WR easily. Running screens with little to no blockers (or using your back up RT to swing out), endless hitches and not getting him the ball in space or on the move doesn’t really make any WR look elite.

It's impossible to really evaluate any receiver on this team because brown is force fed the ball, but smitty is elite. They call aj brown always open but he almost never has separation, smitty routinely gets it.

Devonta has been the true #1. AJ gets the glory, SMith just does Smith things.

If they honestly commit to a Shanahan/McVay offense and Hurts is capable of running Devonta could EASILY catch 100-120 passes as the team's number 1 WR. Imagine using his skillset and route running ability creatively? Motion, slot, out of the backfield, etc etc. Devonta is a better receiver than Brown at this point.

Watching clips from last year.

Siri is more and more unlikable every time I watch him. Such a tool

I find him extremely likeable. I love the family atmosphere the team has in the organization. A lot of that is Lurie, and Howie, but the coach meeting face to face with all of the players and rest of the coaching staff every day has to embody that. They had to get the hire right if they wanted that atmosphere to disseminate down through the rest of the organization. If he is an unapproachable D bag like a Coughlin, or no personality lump like Belicheck, then it doesn work. Siri has to embody that and be to the face that everyone sees that makes them think- family.

In addition, I love his authenticity. He isnt afraid to get emotional. Thats not just the trash talk tough guy act, but its also the tears. Hes done it all. Hes gone up in to the stands with fans. There has never been a coach that embodied the Philadelphia grit better. He doesnt try to be better than us. He doesnt try to look smarter than everyone else. As a fan, he is relatable. He fits in with us. Its amazing how someone so perfect for the job is actually hated.

I've become less of an overall football fan over the last few years. I can't sit and watch games all day anymore, I watch the eagles and go about the rest of my day. The constant commercials, the horrific officiating, the major gambling push, all ruining the enjoyment for me. If the eagles aren't playing, i'm generally not watching.

Hey I'm a Blue Hen too!! Lived my whole life pretty much in Newark, DE. Graduated from UD in 95, I think. 🧐

Haven't followed the FB program in a while though. I lose interest in things pretty quickly, I've noticed, as I age. 🙃

OK, some on here have called me a moron for wanting to bring Dean back with one of the arguments against bringing Dean back is his injury history.

If Deans injury history scares people off, we should want to run as far away from AVT as possible.

AVT has missed 39 games over the last 3 seasons. IMO, it makes no sense adding a guy with that injury history to an OL that has Dickerson, Jurgens and Lane Johnson battling their injuries. He's currently slated to cost about $13 million/year. No thank you.

Signing OL is not the answer this year. They have Steen on his rookie deal and the rest are near the top paid at their respective positions. They need to address OL in the draft and lock up key defenders to keep the defense intact. The only spending on OL should be Fred Johnson if he comes back on a team friendly deal.

Nobody called you a moron. I said it was a moronic take. Big difference. This post is also a moronic take for the record.

-Offensive line is WAY more important in today's game than the LB position in general

-They invested a first round pick in a replacement for Nakobe, meanwhile their best backups on the OL are free agents (Johnson and Toth), their starting RG should be a backup, and their starting LG and RT might not even return.

Improving an offensive line that was the biggest reason for the struggles on offense by any means necessary is the answer. How anyone who follows this team would come away from the season and the situation they are in thinking that Nakobe FN Dean should be a higher priority in terms of free agency/cap dollars than improving the OL is almost hard to believe. Please tell me you are just trolling at this point.

He's an absolute clown with a very punchable face. Him crap talking opposing teams, crap talking fans, the fact they have to have big Dom around him at all times is ridiculous.

It's the game. I don't care about him.

I don't recall that at all if I'm being the best player on the field. I remember him showing range in coverage, which is great. He made a big INT against TB, even if the ball was thrown right to him. Still have to make the play, and he did. He blends in more than stands out IMO. That's why I compare him to Alex Singleton. He makes tackles that have to be made, 2-4 yards down the field.

I posted the 2025 tape of Campbell and Dean yesterday and one player pops off the screen, the other just sort of blends in. I'm not coming down on Campbell. I think he's a good player. I just don't see this superstar potential with him.

LMAO, you think Campbell is is another Alex Singleton. Suddenly everything has become super clear.. Singleton isn't a 10th of the athlete that Campbell is and stylistically they are nothing alike. You couldn't have made a worse comparison if you tried. Just stop already.

Siri acting like a fan is probably a familiarity breeds contempt situation… personally, I’m not bothered by this as it might be endearing to 20-something players. The CEO thing bugs me more as I don’t know what share of the credit he deserves, but the results have been good so I can’t say he’s been an impediment.

Kinda the same thing for me. Once I discovered the RedZone channel for NFL games (10 years ago, maybe?) my interest/watching went to a completely different place. I've never bet/gambled on sports, and I don't do Fantasy Football. To each their own.

One thing I have noticed, is that the older I get (I'm a very young 54 😊), the less Sports mean to me. Just don't care.

Agreed. Also funny how many posters here talk about their knowledge of football while acknowledging how much football they don’t watch.
