He might be worried that a whole new offensive direction could damage Hurts play on the field. He's been in this offense for 5 years now and had fairly good success. Who's to say a new OC, new system maybe doesn't fit Hurts or it might take him a couple years to get comfortable in it. Alot of variables but ESP is still an idiot.

One of the things mentioned on PHLY today that I thought about during the season as well was should the Eagles have taken Josh Simmons with their first rounder instead of Campbell. They have a future need at OT and a current need for depth and he’s probably better than anyone in this current class, certainly better than anyone they’d take at the end of the first round.

I really don’t love any OTs that will be in the Eagles range this draft. We’ll see what they do to the OL this offseason. Maybe next year’s draft is the year for Lane’s heir apparent.

ST have been weird under Clay. First off, I do think ST, in particular, projects too much onto the coaches. That's not to say that coaching isn't important, just that good coaches can oversee some rough miscues through little to no fault of their own. It's not entirely his fault when a returner makes a horrific decision or someone loses lane discipline...or maybe it is if he isn't reinforcing these fundamentals in practice. Point is, sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Under Clay, I feel like we've seen some really bad units and some really good units, almost a see-saw. I don't recall the exact year, but his name was a popular one for the guillotine at one point and then they responded with one of the best units in the NFL the following year. 2025 was definitely a down year for ST. We can't blame Clay for Elliott struggling. But we did have a pretty wild stretch of multiple returners crapping the bed.

Boy, did Howie lie about Sirianni today. Elite and teaching fundamentals? Elite at game management? Cripes.

Well I'd gladly trade Campbell for Simmons right now. I liked Campbell as a potential edge switch (we learned fairly quickly that was not a fit). If we had Simmons in the fold, it would be fantastic to just keep Dean and focus on interior OL in the draft.

Now, we almost have to let Dean go and rebuild the entire OL.

I had seen something somewhere that Chiefs only made that trade after confirming Eagles werent taking a tackle

To be honest, he should have been gone last year. I'm fine with a whole new ST and Offensive staff. Keep Stoutland, but really challenge him to live up to the hype. Stoutland U is a Community College right now.

We need a RT. Everything is fine assuming they get healthy. Even so, Mailata, Dickerson, and Jurgens aren’t going anywhere. Steen is fine at RG.

Steen is not fine at RG. Did you see the numbers a few pages back? He's fine as a backup, but they need MB or another option. They can't rely on him again. We are all going to miserable again if they do.

So Michael Clay's contract is up next month, which is why the Eagles had to grant permission. Writing is on the wall that they aren't going to re-sign him.

Think Fangio's preference will JP #1 but not sure who he pefers between the other two but I agree that Dean is least likely to come back given presence of Jihad.

In the unlikley scenerio Dean is back, then it signals 2026 is Baun's last year on the Birds. They'd be reallocating his $17m cash due in 2027 Dean's way and making the call to roll with Jihad as a backup for another year. Not the best use of resources but would mean they love Dean as the more longer-term heart of the D / intangibles he brings to the table.

If they are taking Lane's LT replacement high (Rd 1) - they may roll intot the off-season with letting that guy also battle Steen for the starting RG. Loser becomes the #6 OL.

But MB should be cheap - would like to see the Eagles bring him back as well. He responded well to Stoudland's coaching and being part of this locker room.

He was crying on the sidelines during the SB while they were dominating. He cries whether the offense is awesome or not. He threw his team under the bus mid season and then completely crapped the bed with the season on the line in the most important game of the year several times.

Jurgens looked worse than him this year and Steen is a better pass blocker than Bechton was.

Mechi B is not coming back..locally in Philadelphia there's whispers of lots of off the field issues with him. No chance.
