February 10Feb 10 I expect new WR coach will be next announcement and then maybe a new safeties coach. Then not much until free agency unless they extend a player. Oh and QB coach. Olson will probably be official next.

Just nothing going on unless you care about regular season NBA and NHL.College Basketball for me. Got the rest of the regular season then conference tourneys and ncaa tournament. NBA sucks till the playoffs start when they actually let them play and allow some physicality.

Maybe I'll try again.

I just enjoy how hard they compete.

It's just players if that makes any sense. I have an old school mentality when it comes to college sports and why I used to love them so much. Just having a hard time adapting to the new age of college sports.

The refs dont allow much physicality so its very difficult for players to defend. Can barely touch anyone without a foul called. At least once the playoffs start they allow more physical play and allow defense to be played. Nobody wants to see 3's and foul shots being taken every trip down the court. Fans want to see a nice flow back and forth when watching a basketball game. At least i do.

I'm sure they had some interaction but he was probably a Munchak guy.Munchak - now thats a guy I wished they talked out of retirement. Would give me more confidence. But I guess we will wait and see with Kuper

Success or failure in one spot is only a small predictor in the next

Every year is damn near a completely different team. I follow my alumni teams Villanova and University 0f New Mexico. Nova has gone downhill since Jay Wright retired. They'll be fine be as they have big time donors.UNM gets absolutely raided every year. 2 years ago we had JT Toppin (an all American now with Texas Tech), Jamal Mashubrn Jr (Temple) and Donovan Dent (UCLA). Good fricken players that they found that are now on bigger schools rosters. If they had thoae dudes, they would at least be sweet 16.Not to mention the coaching carosel. Every time they get a good coach and have a couple of good years they are gone. Steve Alford went to UCLA then Pitino Jr went this year to Xavier.Just too much turnover to actually get invested. That being said, I went to the UNM-Boise St game on Saturday in the Pit in Albuquerque and had a great time. Still more action than any NBA game

February 10Feb 10 I find Kuper to be a disappointing hire. He passes the bar of competency, but there's very little upside.Still think Stoutland has a 10%+ chance to be our OL coach in 2027 if our 2026 season blows up.

There's plenty of upside that he develops into a very good coach in his next stop with better players. Mind you he might be bad but I don't think the upside is limited

Something elseOne of the deepest positions in FA is TE and I just can't see them adding a 10th high paying contract to the offense. There's no player I would overpay for to add to the defense before paying their own players to stay. FA should be relatively boring. I'm seeing a mid-level TE, backup OL, WR depth, Edge depth. CB won't be addressed until the draft and post veteran cuts. I wonder if they take a flier on a guy like Trey Lance as a backup QB. Either that or they ride out McKee's rookie contract.

So we know if you give him talent, he can get them to play at a good level. We don't know if he can turn day 3 picks into starters. That's the real value of a good OL coach. Could he improve? Sure. We shouldn't expect that.

I think they stick with McKee. His value is worth enough to trade

February 10Feb 10 11 hours ago, pgcd3 said:The nba is a terrible product for many reasons. The quantity of 3s is definitely a piece of thatThe NBA destroyed itself years ago when it shifted its promotional focus from teams to individuals. It has been nothing more than an entertainment event rather than a sport for decades. The rise of the Bird/Magic rivalry led to the emergence of MJ and that is when the NBA shifted. The idea that championships revolved around 2 core players and 1 superstar on a team with 2 role players. The Bulls with Jordan in the lead and Pippen et al in the supporting cast became the marketing focus and it continues to this day. Over time there has been an outlier to this like the San Antonio Spurs team approach and the Warriors have had their team moments, but the superstar promotional focus still drives the league. This is partly why NFL is so popular...the emergence of Fantasy Football really opened up the sport to casual fans, but football continues to be the only sport that focuses on the demand side of the economic calculus. The NFL is now a year round spectacle with people anticipating, combine, free agency, draft, schedule announcement etc. Basketball. hockey and basketball focus on supply with too many games and now an extended playoff season...it is just overlaid at this point.
