Add on the eagles blew out two playoff teams til the Super Bowl.Furthermore the 2022 eagles also didn’t have more turnovers than touchdowns on offense that entire playoff run. you have be pretty bad offensively to accomplish more turnovers on offense then tds.balso the analytics didn’t show our Qb to be one of the worst all time playoff performers over an entire playoffs. The fact of matter is the best team New England faced in the afc the way was missing their starting Qb and struggled to even win that game. Heck the only reason they scored a TD in the broncos game and the following 3 quarters of the Super Bowl was stidham being horrible at his job. Furthermore NE’s schedule was an all time worse. Like the worst in the last two decades. A softer schedule is one thing, but it was analytically the EASIEST in the entire nfl and in a very long time for a SB team. This isn’t anything against NE defense. That unit i actually thought was good. Actually showed they could play well against a top tier offense. Held Buffalo to 20 earlier in the year. NE offense faced no top 10 defenses in ppg til the playoffs. Guess what happened? Dramatically fell off a cliff. They went from top scoring offenses at 26.5 ppg (8th) to offense avg 15 ppg (that’s even worse than the eagles who were 20.6 ppg vs. top 10 defenses and NE got a garbage time td vs seattle). Thats not fraudulent but does tell me that NE didn’t lived up to their offensive standards they had shown against inferior competition. It wasn’t just a drop off it was 11 ppg drop.Injuries or not, every team has injuries. don’t want to hear about injuries, hurts in 2022 was dealing with a shoulder injury. They scored 38, 31 and 35 points. Granted lesser defenses outside of SF that year. Furthermore eagles in 2022 didn’t see dramatic fall of the cliff offensive numbers as soon as the playoffs started with a Qb with an injured shoulder. Literally New England went from top 10 offense to a team barely managing to score 15ppg on offense. I don’t want to hear oh matchups or injuries. If Maye is an mvp caliber Qb and that offense was truly dynamic as they showed in the regular season then shouldn’t see an 11 point drop off and one of the worst analytical displays of QBing and postseason offenses since 2000.So let me put this all together: New England had the easiest strength of schedule in the league, second worst strength of victory (Dallas worse lol) in the nfl, analytically worst QB performance in a playoff run since 2000, barely beat a broncos team with Jared stidham starting his first game all season, got blown out by 16 (frankly garbage td made it look better) a Seahawks team which is the best team analytically/statistically they faced all (with their Qb healthy) year. But they just came up short…. They aren’t frauds but they also could very very VERY well been a benefactor of fortuitous circumstance and maybe the argument has some validity to it that the rams/Seahawks nfc tittle game may very well have been for the Super Bowl…Discredit or not, I’m not buying they were the second best team because they won the AFC especially when they barely beat a broncos team who just lost their starting Qb a week before. you wanna talk matchups matter, the rams had the toughest strength of schedule of any playoff team and best strength of victory of any playoff team. They only got slotted to the 5th seed cause the number one seed was there with 14 wins and played in the toughest division in football. Yeah matchups mattered as NE benefited from a fortuitous schedule, bo nix breaking his ankle then getting punked by best team they faced all year that had their Qb. Can say they can only play the schedule they are given, that’s accurate. However it also means they might very well have not been nearly as good as their record indicated and were super fortuitous until they faced the best team and looked like they didn’t belong on offense much like most of the postseason. We’ve seen this also with other teams in the past. Vikings in 2017 come to mindSeattle wasn’t the best team? They tied for most wins in the nfl, won arguably the hardest division, had a top 10 defense (1st in ppg), had a top 10 offense (2nd in ppg), second highest strength to victory of any playoff team besides the rams and top 5 SOS of all playoff teams. NE losing to a giants team that got hot is one thing. Happens best team may not win that singular game. However resumes for Seattle speak volumes for how good Seattle was this year. Feels very disingenuous to not say they were the best when their resume, analytics and performance showed otherwiseSo if we are coming to the conclusion that Seattle wasn’t the best team after blasting the patriots in the SB while having all those accolades then i guess we should make the same argument for the 2024 eagles based on your logic. I’m guessing you aren’t going to do that but you will for Seattle…At this point not responding anymore. It’s been ridiculous all year with skippy downplaying everyone else in the nfl but the eagles. There’s other good teams on this league whether he wants to accept it or not.I only brought up Nix's injury because I don't care that they beat the Broncos without him. I also don't care that NE "barely" beat the teams they faced in the playoffs, they still won. You bring up how NE looked bad and struggled vs the Texans and Denver, yet fail to acknowledge that both defenses were elite this past season. They made a lot of teams and QB's look bad all year, not to mention there was bad weather in both games. I don't care that we won by blowouts and they scraped by, a win is a win imo.Lasty, if NE had beaten Seattle, no one would mention that they had an easy schedule. That nonsense is just used to discredit their success and to help fans cope since their team didn't make it to the Super Bowl. The 1999 Rams, known as "the greatest show on turf," had a cupcake schedule when they won it all.edit. No, I don't think that just because they had the most wins, that they were the best team. The Lions had the most wins last season, the #1 seed, and many viewed them as the best team even with the injuries, but what happened come playoff time? Credit to Seattle, they won it all, but just because they did, doesn't mean I have to believe they were the best team, they're just undeniably the champs.

Howie did a lot of that already so I'm fine not doing that this year to catch up. Also it fails to mention the actual cap space the team currently has so KC is about 60M underwater now so they'd better be able to restructure some deal. Eagles have 20M of space

February 12Feb 12 Pew pew - shots fired, that's a relatively strong opinion coming from Kelce - likely team sanctioned.

It seems he's always on the organization's side even though he isn’t on their payroll (or is he ). I don't think he would say it without the eagles being cool with it, especially if they ARE trying to trade him. This makes me think they aren't so they don't care what's said that could lower trade value/tinfoilhat

February 12Feb 12 Out of context its shots fired. Full context, its crediting AJ for some quality about him that causes teammates to still value his presence and support him in spite of his lackluster play.

Eagles have 20M of spaceThere isn't really a "catch up". This is the result of how Howie structures his contracts. The chart can come out next year and the year after that and the Eagles will be at the very bottom still. Jalen Hurts base salaries2026: $1,215,0002027: $1,345,0002028: $1,400.000Dak Prescott salaries2026: $40,000,0002027: $45,000,0002028: $55,000,000That's why Cowboys are at the top and Eagles are at the bottom. It applies to almost any player on either roster. The chart in the tweet is going to be taken out of context for what it actually represents.
February 12Feb 12 Author I keep thinking about 1995, when they brought in Gruden as OC. Randall couldn't run the new offense and Peete replaced him early in the season.

Generally what happens with retired players in media

Peete was only 29 during that season and was an Eagle for 4 years. Might be the most insignificant 4 year stretch of Eagles QB play.
February 12Feb 12 His name is blowing up recently. He's a stud and has been for years. I'd be all in on a move up for him. Would hate to see him go in the division, however I get the feelings we're going to see both Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs in the NFCE.
