I don’t think chemistry issues were with the team. Still won with him last year. Feels like Dave wanted him gone. So essentially we are paying Castellanos $20 mil, Garcia $10 mil and luxury taxes from those signings. Good use of money by Dave

February 12Feb 12 Phillies offseason has been one big bust overall. And are most likely a worse team this year with Ranger gone and Wheeler/Nola as 2 BIG Q marks. They need to eat the luxury tax in order to compete with the Big Boys. Gallen for 2 years/$15-18M per seems like the Championship play here. Guy from the area and has solid Playoff experience with D-backs and only 30. But they rather shop in the bargain bin like they usually do at this time of season. Will probably end up with Buehler, which just doesn't move the needle. Why even bother?! Window here is just about shut. Gotta go for it! DD sitting with $38M of dead weight ( Casty & Walker) on team is fireable.

The kids and I play fantasy and after a while you can figure out the guys that get on base or keep the ball down on the mound. Some of these guys the Phillies are signing we wouldn't draft. And what they are getting paid is comedy.

He will get alot of his investment back in going the extra yard, for each round they play. And if they win it all, the merchandising revenue will be out of hand and he makes a mint. Value of the franchise skyrockets. Can raise ticket prices and find many ways to make up ground. Can't be playing it too safe here with an aging core. Dodgers were really an old roster last year and won. Somehow. Can't half ass this...you're either in it to win it. Or not!

I’d add i actually boutte is a solid WR (he just got hurt and missed 3 games so his numbers would look more like an ok no. 2 if he didn’t). Do i think they are great by any means? No but Stefon diggs had more receptions and yards than aj and devonta. Only year since 2017 he hasn’t had 1000 yards was 2024 when he missed 9 games with injury. Also, how bad was his o-line during the game.
February 12Feb 12 I've been saying it for years now, Dave Dombrowski is an absolute clown. "Good club, good club."

But this goes back to my entire overall argument from the very beginning is that I don’t think New England was the second best team. I’d argue talent wise they weren’t and the analytics also confirmed they weren’t.

The Eagles got lucky that the Lions choked against the Commanders. The AFC was the weaker divison.

The Eagles got lucky that the Lions choked against the Commanders. The AFC was the weaker divison. That’s fine. I don’t think the chiefs were the second best team that year. However I’d argue that chiefs team still was more worthy of the convo of being 2nd than New England this year and playoffs bared that out particularly on offense. The numbers and analytics kind of back that up. Add on New England playoff performance on offense being one of the worst over the last 25 years. My original point from the beginning that skippy got upset about was I think the Super Bowl winner was determined in the NFC championship game between the Rams and the Seahawks. As both were better than what was coming out of the afc as rams were second best team at that point (weaker title game with nix being hurt and New England just not being as good as what their record indicated) and the analytics agree with that. The part I’m having more issue I’m having now with MF poon is saying the Seahawks may have not been the best team. The seahawks proved it on the field in how they won it all. But also analytically they were the best team. Add onby having the 2nd most ppg game in the NFL, 1st in points allowed, DVOA they had the 8th hardest schedule, they had the 2nd best strength of victory and were top 10 in DVOA dating back to 1978. The analytics showed that the Seahawks team were the best team in the NFL in 2025 and then they went out on the field in the playoffs proved it. It feels like coping of not wanting to actually give Sam Darnold and the Seahawks credit of being the best teamI think the lions the injuries caught up to them, particularly on defense. The lions prior to losing Hutchinson annd a boatload of guys would be different than lions at year end. over the course of the year, the analytic said their defense was getting decimated by injuries and there was a drop off.

February 12Feb 12 Did anyone watch PHLY yesterday? They did some "mock offseason" where the entire purpose of the show was to discuss things that they don't necessarily think will or should happen, but do it as an exercise. This was bad enough and they got absolutely killed in the comments sections. However, the worst part is this. The first topic was about trading Jalen Hurts and one of the guys brought up the Cleveland Browns as a possibility. EJ jumps in and says I have a better team that could be interested. Then he goes onto say that his main reasoning is the relationship between Hurts and the coach and says how about the Steelers bringing in Hurts to play for Mike Tomlin. Bo had to remind good old EJ that Tomlin hasn't been their coach for several weeks. It was so bad I was embarrassed for him.

Very athletic for his size. Played primarily at LT in college. Have a hard time seeing him drop out of the Top 15 in RD1. Would gallop to the podium if he's there at 23. Lane's understudy and heir
