That is some prime fishing material.

But it does make sense with Hurts contract having an out coming.

But there's not so much more that Nick Sirianni does. The FO hired the entire coaching staff. The new offensive staff is dictating the scheme. Well, sort of...they were hired because of the scheme they are familiar with because the FO is dictating the scheme.

Yea, he'll call the timeouts, will listen to the analytics in his ear about going for it and challenges...and these are things he generally does a good job with. But the change in this team next year is coming from everyone BUT him. Yet he's the one on the hot seat.

Since I think he should have been canned this off-season but for the negative PR effect, I think he’s been perfectly set up to be the scapegoat if things go badly. Howie has basically bought himself a free transition year.

Howie and Lurie have a very objective take on Sirianni. He has demonstrated in 2 different seasons that he does not have the ability to fix offensive scheme problems. Maybe no one could have fixed the offense last season but Sirianni did not. I am sure their view is that Sirianni did not have the roster playing to it's potential. Howie and Lurie likely look at it like an area where he has a deficiency and they have provided a solution. We probably undervalue Sirianni's role in shaping team dynamics, communicating to players and organizing the team compared to how Lurie and Howie see it. Sure, they are changing offenses and coaches but if Sirianni is open to the solution and helps have the team ready how does that diminish him as a coach. Howie certainly learned a lesson from Chip Kelly and Doug. I think Lurie's lessons stem from both Kelly and Andy Reid. When Reid had too much control, things fell apart. Taking things off of a head coaches plate can be a service to the head coach. They also see where personal relationships create bias towards that relationship over the good of the team. I do think Sirianni will be on the hot seat but it won't be related to how the offense performs. If the team isn't having success, it will be a question of whether they think he is the problem. If he is sabotaging the offense by not backing up the OC if the players are resistant to change, then I think they will not hesitate to get rid of him. If he buys into the system and is working to get the team on the same page, then I think he stays regardless of the outcome next season. Of course, if the latter occurs, it's much more likely the team is having success.

Would be a waste of a pick. There's no qb's worthy first of all so it would be a reach and second of all so many other needs to address. This would have Lurie's sticky fingerprints all over it if it does happen.

Is the QB to back up Tanner when he outplays Hurts in camp and gets the starting job?

The QB position has to face scrutiny; it doesn't matter what team. If it were an instance where you have a franchise player and two head coaches get fired, at some point people start asking questions about the franchise player. Even just within this clip the WR1 is to blame and he's quite possibly going, the OC has already been fired (not the first time). In this particular instance it's two play callers as OC getting fired within 3 years. You can keep talking about the play caller changing every year and give the franchise player a crutch for an excuse -- but at some point, the focus goes to the player with the ball in his hands on every play.

I've said it previously -- IMO, Hurts is most definitely a declining asset at this point. His mobility and ability to make plays with his legs isn't what it was even a couple of years ago. Based on what I see right now I have zero interest in Hurts being the starting QB past 2026. The Eagles could certainly draft a QB on Day 2 -- if this was a strong QB draft -- it isn't. They're not going to draft a QB just for the sake of drafting a QB. My mind might change if I look at eligible QB prospects, but I doubt it.

Hurts will get 2026 as the unquestioned starting QB to see how he performs in Mannion's offense. That fit should dictate the Eagles direction at the position for 2027 and beyond.

Speaking of fishing material…I saw a vid yesterday of a guy in Beaufort South Carolina fishing with gummy worms, you know, like the Trolli candy gummy worms.

Crazy.

With the QB talk. How do we feel about Malik Willis? Complete silly thought, trade Jalen to the Jets for a bundle, sign Willis. I know I know, I'm just a little bored and an idle mind never is a good thing.

Solak was saying Willis will potentially get $26 million a year. I am not sure that would be a feasible plan.

Back when I used to do a fair amount of fishing I would shake a little Accent (msg) on my worm or cricket. Worked wonders.

I guess. I’m not a big fishing guy, I used to fish reds around Matagorda Bay several years ago using Copper Penny artificial shrimp or a gold spoon but never thought of gummy worms…that’s some inexpensive bait.

Mike Garafolo said the Eagles will be one of 4 or 5 teams heavily in the mix for Crosby if he's traded.

I just don't see how the Eagles could do it with so many OL needs and the need to get younger and cheaper on offense.

The Eagles are in the mix for everyone.

I could see Crosby as a Howie target. This off-season is not the strongest on offense, I really hope they don't reach and over spend on mediocre players on that side of the ball just because it's a need.

I'll happily take Vera-Tucker at RG, one of the Baltimore TE's, there's some others too but it's not very deep.

Wouldn’t be shocked if we include a young player in that deal going back

More like day 3. There are too many needs to get a backup in day 2

Maybe the NFLPA should file a greivance against the NFL and it's network for ranking NFL draft prospects and the best free agents.

When I was a kid I would go fishing with my granddad not too far from Matagorda Bay. We would go to the pier at Goose Island and some other places around Copano Bay. We only used shrimp as bait.
