We actually rented a place at Port Aransas this past summer and did a family vaca with their spouses and the grandson. We had never stayed out there at the beach. I love the fishing, but I can't stand just laying on a beach and getting in the water every hour or so to cool off in the Texas heat...that's just miserable...the kids and my wife love it...Goose Island is really cool, The Big Tree a 1,000 year old coastal live oak is in the park there. Compano Bay is beautiful.

Edit: BTW Dat Nguyen DAL LB from the mid 90's grew up and played HS ball in Rockport. His family owns a restaurant at the waterfront.

I don’t think they get it done because I think the compensation to get him is going to be too much. I kind of see him getting a first round pick and they’re likely gonna ask for a young player. The Eagles really shouldn’t do that with the needs on offense going forward.

Side note, I also don’t think Tanner McKee is going to be on this team next year. I kind of think the reports the eagles might take a Qb early make sense anyway. Need a backup Qb and j could see them taking a Qb in the third to develop. Get a 3rd rounder for McKee in 2027 that has conditions tha could reach a 2nd. I think people are gonna overrate his performance this year saying o one wants him an just like people overrated his performance at the end of 2024 in that meaningless game in week 18bwhere people say he’s worth a 1st. But I tend to think quarterbacks get more on the trade market. I have a belief that there’s a team out there that believes a future 3rd round pick for potentially getting their franchise quarterback may be worth the gamble.

I don't think the team views it that way necessarily though. Otherwise they would have just extended him last year instead of trying to trade him and then making him take a pay cut.

His year was so so. He was great in the red zone, just ok in the middle of the field but fell off a bit as a blocker.

Pipe dream, but how awesome would it be if we could keep on the Defensive side, JD, JC, Moro and Nakobe.

Yeh, I was really just focused on the point production. I still think PHI should prioritize keeping him, and not just for cap reasons if they can extend him. I like career guys staying with one team, I guess I’m just old school that way.

I appreciate having career Eagles. We've had a fair share of them recently. If the price is minimal, I'd be fine with bringing him back. It's just the way the team is built with so much money allocated to offense that some needs to get shifted to defense. So if moving on from Goedert helps you extend a younger player like Ojomo, that's the direction I'd go.

BIG MAYBE- JP & Nolan Smith

That's a pretty good take. Am out on JP because he has had a lot of injuries. Maybe one of the 'out's' can find their way in.

I am leaning OUT for JP and Nolan Smith. Due to injuries and projected cap space. Seeing really high numbers for JP on projected contract. I don't think Howie would go over $18M for him. And ideally $15M.

I agree and that’s the irony in all of this. Totally fair to say 2025 was his failure. But, IMO, he has been sufficiently lame ducked and set up to be the scapegoat that 2026 will neither be his success nor his failure…because 2026 isn’t his.

The worse the new crew does with this offense, the BETTER Siri’s 2025 looks in hindsight (and yet he’s fired and gone). The better they do with this offense, the more it looks like Siri was the sole 2025 failure (and yet that’s how he might keep his job).

But look at Darnold the last two seasons, now do you really think he's as good as Hurts? But in offenses similar to what the Eagles will run, he blossomed.

We've see Hurts have big games in the playoffs, so he can run a passing game and do it at the highest level. That's far different than a backup QB having a big game at the end of the season with nothing at stake.

The offense of the last few years was predicated on running the ball and defense, and Hurts' job was to not make mistakes and every 4th game, save their butt when they fell behind.

But the scheme did not give him the easy throws that so-called top QBs get to pad their stats and get them into a rhythm.

The combination of play action and a scheme build around a short passing game that sets up big plays by pulling the safeties in will result in more open receivers, and using crossing routes etc more YAC. Hard to get YAC off a hitch.

But I was told his running was the reason for the run game working so well

Some dude on bleacher report was coming up with a few mock AJ Brown trades and I almost threw up in my mouth reading them. Keon Coleman and a 2nd was one of them, another one was Rashod Bateman and a 2nd.
