Joel Klatt had the Eagles drafting Kenyon Saddiq, TE at #23 in his first mock draft. Worth noting that Keith Jackson was the last TE the Eagles drafted in the first round, back in 1988.

It's a mock draft in Feb, no one puts out a real mock draft until the week before the draft. It's worthless reading any mock draft at this point.

Oh boy, not sure if I would want them to use a 1st rounder on a TE. Couldn't they get a decent one later in the draft? I'm not up to speed with the TEs that are coming out of College though.

I think I want CB or OL with the 1st round pick.

Agree: CB and OT in the 1st round. TE should be a high pick as well, in 2nd or 3rd round.

Im super confused by the heading of the video.

" Will soon be retired" does the author mean deceased???

Cuz all the players in the video have been retired for years now...🤔

Give me Vera Tucker at guard though. If you want to run it back with Steen you can, it's just not very exciting. But if you spend on a pro bowl type defender instead of going for Ver Tucker then I can get behind it. But Howie will need to add some quality type depth on this o-line somehow.

Steen was arguably our best OL last year…he’s the least of our worries on OL. Back up OG’s and OT’s are a priority though.

1st round on a TE? Hell no

Mock drafts in February are good for folks like me who don’t follow college to closely and don’t know the big names.

However , I did watch a little bit of Miami U last year because of my brother in law. Malachi Toney is a kid whose career I will follow.

He's not coming out for a couple more years still

Same goes for me.

I watch College Football. Because it's Football. But I don't really know who is good, really good, or a superstar.

So I like to look at some mock drafts, just to get a little more information.

I know this is just spit balling here but Isaac Seumalo is a free agent this year. he's 32 now and his AMV is about $9.6 million.

Depth piece or a Starter?

Is Big V available too? I'd kick the tires on any possible depth piece. 🦅🙃

I'd say at least depth piece. Cant be any worse than what we already have

Where did he go ? I thought he went to the Lions but he's not on their roster

No. They don't have money to spend at RG, especially an older veteran. You gotta roll with Steen and hope that Drew Kendall/Willie Lampkin improve.

Yeah it looks like he has not played since 2023. Injured with the Lions. I guess he made his $$ and left the game.

Oh well, I wasn't being too serious. 🙃😎

But we do need some healthy depth at OL.

I also need a tree in my backyard that grows Money.

I wouldn't object to the next Keith Jackson (49 TDs, 5K+ recv yfs) at picj #23. Might need to move up some to pick Sadiq due to talent.

IF Sadiq evaluates as unique...why not! Would there remain a CB/OT rated higher at pick #23?

Next opportunity might not arrive until day 3. Keep in mind you are competing with 31 other teams.

It would only woek if there were a trade market attractive enough to move Steen, allowing for a replacement prospect.

Good news no one associated with Eagles made the new Epstein list. Carry on.

As we all know, the draft is not uniform and requires compromises. If I were to rank needs, I'd say:

  1. OT

  2. tie: CB / TE / OG with preference going to the offensive positions because of how bad the offense is.

But a CB with pro-bowl potential and a reasonable floor in round 1 sounds a lot better to me than reaching for a heavily flawed OT in round 1 who won't be much more than a short term starter. Likewise, some matchup-busting all-around TE who can outrun LBs and out-muscle DB's in round 1 beats force-picking a not-that-great CB or OL. Heck, a freakish edge rusher beats a not-that-great CB/OT/OG/TE too. I wouldn't trade up looking for one, but you have to roll with what the draft gives you.

This team is a victim of its own success and is consequently suffering an emigration of talent. They need a talented player who can be a reason why this team competes for a championship, not a mediocre box-checker. I think it's pretty unlikely we are staring at equivalently talented TE vs CB vs OG vs OT on the board at the Eagles pick. Just get the best one in that group. Same thing round 2. And whatever doesn't get address, they'll have to cobble together something.

I think if you're going with CB in the first round then you're banking on the defense carrying the offense. They need to get the foundation in the Oline back

Don't have to move Steen to do that. Steen can finish his Eagles career as swing OL if they land a top OG in the draft.
