I think if you're going with CB in the first round then you're banking on the defense carrying the offense. They need to get the foundation in the Oline back

May not be as bad as it seems. If everyone comes back, you still have DK, WL, FJ, some guy Jake Majors, BT who never dies and the rookies who got parked.

I know this is just spit balling here but Isaac Seumalo is a free agent this year. he's 32 now and his AMV is about $9.6 million.

Pass. He was getting tossed around like a child in their playoff game vs Houston

Don't have to move Steen to do that. Steen can finish his Eagles career as swing OL if they land a top OG in the draft.

This was specifically with respect to acquiring Seumalu for the short term...not ideal, but could work.

My greatest concern regarding our first draft pick is acquiring someone that will be a premier player at whatever position they may play...hopefully at a position of relative immediate need.

The Tight End shelf going into free agency is ostensibly bare, whereas the OL has all of it's starters returning. In addition, we had 5 or 6 rookie Ol either on the roster, injured and/or on the practice squad.

Unless we sign Goedert we have a major problem to be addressed.

Went to the card show in the casino at the athletic complex today.

Got this

No. Whole new OL system. Plus, the financial plan is clearly to move the high contracts to the defense and fill on offense with young guys on rookie contracts.

P.S. Don’t recall you posting before but Welcome, Elroy.

Well, how is the current OL cast of players going to be/adjust to a new Blocking scheme? It may take awhile for them to, OR, it may take 3-5 (if possible) new OLine players.

This change could be a frightening mess for a couple of seasons. 🙃🙃

Reed was out celebrating valentines day instead of living in the nova care complex. some fans are mad he wasnt lifting.

May be an image of ocean and beach

Yeah, could use a little more bulk. He better get some rest too, while he still can.

Granted, the OL is of major concern, along many other issues which have been raised this past off-season. Nothing is set in stone except for the certainty of change.

Keep in mind our entire starting OL is under contract for 2026.

Here are the names of several OL that have at least one year of NFL experience and are currently under contract with the Eagles: Kendall, Majors, Pierce, Ojukwu, Williams, Hinton, Lampin and Felix-Fualalu...none of whom are expensive.

Will any of them suit our needs now and/or in the future?

P.S. Only been posting for about 15 years (judiciously).

So how bad of a Oline draft is this?

LeBrand down 22 getting his final All-Star isolation at the end for an air ball 3 was chef's kiss perfect.

Edgecombe and Maxey were awesome this weekend. So thats nice.

They are going to be banking on that no matter what. Might as well get the best possible player at any of the 3-4 positions where they have an immediate path to upgrading the team.

Where are his pecs? Does he even bench? Also a 6 at best.

Back to RB. I'd be in favor of this. He was special when he burst on the scene. The Howie injury special here.

Has he declared?

Giants have a female GM now. Will be interesting to see how that all plays out.

1st round on a TE? Hell no

FWIW, If Goedert is not retained we do not possess a starting tighr end period, end of sentence.

Take these facts under consideration:

  1. No capable starter under contract going into FA.

  2. Not likeley to sign one in FA.

  3. Only one prospect (Sadiq) is rated as a top 50 pick.

  4. Sadiq has been mocked as high as the 15th choice.

  5. The Eagles have been projected in several mocks picking Sadiq.

  6. Sadiq is highly rated. He sat and watched during his freshan season only because of the talent in front of him (Ferguson, Rams).

  7. 26 tight ends have been picked in the first round this century (Kellen Winslow, Vernon Davis, Kyle Pitts, Brock Bowers to name a few).

  8. Our entire OL is under contract.

  9. We have at least 2 capable starting Edge players under contract, with BG in the wings.

I rest my case.

Under contract and old and oft injured

We need Lane's heir. Oline has always been high priority. Getting a TE in the first round would be crazy

Cap wise, the TE position needs a rookie in place vs the annual will we, won't we with Goedert salary can kick. They need to rip that Band Aid off at some point and move on.

Probably out of the Eagles price point but a plan B if Phillips leaves.

Why releasing?
