This is turning into a strawman. The point from the beginning was he has visibly shown frustration and unhappiness multiple seasons. No one said he's a locker room cancer. No one said he can't be genuinely frustrated at times during the games.

I agree there is a combination of behaviors that factor into his value to the team. I just don't think any one factor outweighs his value.

It's not surprising Dickerson is coming back for another year. He's due to earn about half his career earnings in 2026 and pocket $19M.

But there is some risk in that if he is only coming back to earn that money but his head and body aren't really into it anymore.

Wonder if he’ll be crushing beers in training camp again lol

It never fully leaves. Those gremlins are always lurking in the shadows.

This. For me, it comes and goes. At dinner with my wife, while I'm working out, I could be driving in my car, etc....it shows up whenever it wants.

Glad Landon and Lane are both coming back. Landon needs to drop some weight. He looked to fat and slow last season. It seemed like he couldn't get his shoulders/blocks into any Defender for most of the season.

He has dealt with depression. Depression isn't necessarily a permanent condition. People can experience severe depression and recover completely. It's like the difference between saying someone has a broken leg and that they have broken their leg in the past.

Yeah…I am not sure about this. There can be situational depression which comes from a specific event and then your statement can make sense. But…clinical depression is tied to childhood trauma and possibly chemical imbalance in the brain. Those may slide into remission with therapy and medicine, but they don’t just go away. From my experience, my best guess is AJ has both clinical depression and anxiety which is very common. He has been fighting it for years I would assume.

Would bringing him back still make sense when we don't have Stoutland? That was the secret sauce that made him good for a year at guard.

Can't remember who said it but someone mentioned our scheme is changing and he doesn't fit anymore

Good guy Christian Parker didn't poach any Eagles staff

I'm still surprised he left. Would have thought he'd be the guy we promoted when Vic retires. Did he think it wouldn't be him? Or I guess he just didn't want to wait?

McLane or someone said he checked in about Fangio and would have stayed if he retired. But since there wasn't a clear answer he chose to take the opportunity instead of waiting.

Hard to pass up a promotion on the hope that Vic will retire soon. I get why he made the jump.

Yeah, Vic reportedly flirted with retirement the last 2 years. Hard to stick around and deal with that when you have a chance to be a DC elsewhere.

USA! USA! USA!

Suck one Canada!

Glad Lane is coming back. For whatever reason the team just slips when he's out of the lineup.

Hes a great player but he's still only 1 player on a unit of 5. I still dont understand how drastically the Eagles record changes when he's not playing but the proof is there.

Because he is a franchise tackle at a key position where some teams have a JAG. Means we can go left or right if we want. A luxury.

I agree that clinical depression can be a chronic and reoccurring disorder. The condition itself isn't permanent. Clinical depression is a specific diagnosis that requires several ongoing symptoms. It's not a neurological disorder like autism or ADHD. Clinical depression resolves.

There's no guarantee he would be the choice here.

The stat is a little baked with unique circumstances. His suspension was Wentz rookie year when they were rebuilding the mess Chip left behind. The year he missed the most games with his ankle was 2020 when the whole team was a disaster. Those two years pad a lot of the losses and I'm not sure Johnson playing would have changed much in either year.

whatever. if we get rid of AJ we're a 8 win team max

That podcast was during media week during the Super Bowl. They just aired it later.
