not sure what mental health issues he has

He has mentioned them before when we was still on the Titans. I think he's in a much better place now, but I'm guessing it's still something that he has to manage from time to time, just to a lesser degree.

I would choose Cam if I needed to pick someone I want to retire. Then you can sign Linderbaum. But I think Harbaugh lands him in NY which sucks.

I’m shocked that Jurgens reportedly had lumbar spine stem cell injections at Columbia.

Shocked that Eagles team physicians allowed it. Shocked that Columbia did it. It’s not high risk by any means, but the data on efficacy of lumbar stem cell injections is either terrible or non existent, depending on your interpretation of the medical literature. Columbia med is a leader in poking around with stem cells, but I wasn’t aware they were doing it for spine when there is zero evidence behind it and it’s inconsistent with standard of care. People usually go to Germany for their experimental spine care.

I won’t speculate on whether Jurgens’ back is doomed or not because I just don’t have the info. But this was a waste of a procedure and the Eagles’ staff and Columbia likely knew that going in.

If it had a chance of working, it would be somewhat positive news.

The fact that he felt he needed to go this experimental route means that we are starting from a bad place, where he is not feeling healthy. So thats not good. And that its likely a wasted procedure doesnt provide any hope.

It seems the eagles need to prepare for his replacement.

Purely anecdotal evidence but I know numerous people who have had stem cells injections for back pain in Ensenada, Mexico that have had really good results. Conversely, I had stem cells injected for my rotator cuff in New Mexico. Little improvement but supposedly you get way more stem cells in Mexico at a drastically cheaper price so there are better results.

That being said, I think this more a failure of the US medical system that more research hasnt been done so that it can be an FDA approved treatment if it works. There are numerous treatments in this same category such as peptides BPC157 (which supposedly helps in joint/ligament as well as intestinal issues) that people have to take "research only" in the US because it isnt FDA approved. I have wanted to take some BPC157 after my acl/meniscus surgery but not really sure which manufacturers are safe/good quality because of that.

It is a shame that people have to travel to other countries who may be ahead in terms of healing patients without surgery. The cynic in me says that the US health care system is designed to make money rather than make people healthy. If they cant make alot of profit off something, who cares about the research? We'll sell them an expensive surgery

Stem cells in the discs and joints of the lumbar spine do not work. One could argue that the US is over-regulated, but Mexico is UNregulated.

When people get stem cells injected at these unregulated cash for shot clinics, they are also getting steroids and anesthetic injected at the same time. So they naturally are going to feel better.

There is better, albeit not exactly great, evidence for other joints like knees and shoulders. The international stem cell for orthopedic pain industry is mostly a racket. If anything emphasizes money over making people healthy, it’s that.

I really want to see what one of Kendall or Lampkin can do. I love the leverage and quickness that Lampkin brings. He's such a unique player. Would have loved Stoutland to be here to build him up.

Not sure if it's a typo on your part, or you actually think it's Columbia University. He went to Colombia the country, not the school in NY.

He said he wasn't even happy after the SB because what truly made him happy was dominating or whatever.

He proceeds to bish and moan and dog it on the field in multiple big moments. The freaking owner had to side bar with him to tell him to STFU and then he got even worse because of his main character syndrome, played even lazier, and then had multiple drops in the playoff game.

The fact that he is as talented as he is only magnifies how piss poor of a season he just turned in.

IMO he's right behind Patullo and Nick in terms of just pissing away the entire season for no reason.

But yeah who cares about one season? Why even root for the Eagles to win if AJ isnt happy? That's what matters most

Thank you for this post. The AJ Brown excuse making to the point of C gobbling by some has become embarrassing.

I think your argument would hold weight if you assume that everything outside of the US is bad and everything in the US is on the up and up. Funny thing is that medical services in Mexico are just as good as the US if not better. Ny MRI cost me $150 and I walked out with the results in 30 minutes. Without insurance my surgery would have cost less than 1/3 of what they billed the insurance here. It was only because I pay thoae exorbitant monthly premiums to have the best plan that it was cheaper here.

As far as your argument that they inject them with steroids etc, these guys are in their 70s - 80s that have done it several years ago. Believe what you want but I believe in healthy, happy people over a crooked, corrupt system.

Funny how we were all raised to believe that the US was better at everything than everybody. And people still believe it. Just because it costs more doesnt it make it better.

I’ve been to 2 medical missions in Mexico to train their surgeons to do basic things that simply aren’t available there..and to try to improve extremely poor access to care. I can assure you that your anecdotes of cheap MRIs with quick results and relief of back pain for cash paying American medical tourists do not make a healthcare system better.

Well that explains a lot and sure as hell isn’t reassuring. Easier to believe that Columbia didn’t do it and the Eagles never approved. Columbia, the health system, does more stem cell injections than almost anyone but exclusively in a clinical trial context.

The debate is a little more nuanced than the typical anecdote I constantly hear: oh I sprained my ankle in Aruba, went to their ER and one x-ray, one hour, and $25 later I’m convinced their healthcare system is better than the US.

Their use of ibogaine for vets is better. Probably end of list.

They have essentially no money right? They're gonna cut a couple guys, restructure a couple, spend on extensions for key defensive players, maybe sign a TE and another depth player, then draft.

Can't be. Howie is a master cap manipulator and pushing the cap into the future has no negative ramifications. Last year we WANTED to lose Milton Williams, Mekhi Becton, Josh Sweat, etc etc etc and sign next to no one.
