It’s not "of players RTK watched the most on TV”

It’s of all players in all of eagles history. I never saw Reggie White play as an eagle. Does that mean he has to be omitted from the DE Mt Rushmore? What kind of nonsense is that?

I think in this case it matters.

I'd be happy with a 4th, maybe get creative and throw them a pick on top for a better pick. Say our 2nd and Tanner for their 2nd? That's probably not enough however...

Nah

Rather see what Mannion thinks of Tanner and have a decent cheap backup

Probably good

His Mt Rushmore of Eagles is QB1, QB1 QB1, slurp QB1

Almost $11mm in dead money to cut Jake. His cap number is ~4.5mm, so costs an extra ~6.5mm to move on. And then you need to sign another kicker. So eats an incremental 7.5-8.0 million in cap space. Can shift ~4mm of that to 2027 post June 1.

Yeah dorsnt really make sense. bring in a street FA to compete

Like 2024 and 2022?

Aaron Donald was generational. Jalen Carter isn't even Fletcher Cox at this point and Fletcher Cox wasn't generational. When Carter is on, it's the most fun thing to watch. I LOVE nasty DT play. Violent, aggressive and mean play from your IDL is freaking awesome. He just hasn't given it to us game in and game out yet. Maybe the light will go on for him like it did for Jordan Davis last year. Let's hope it does.

Ok come on, we gotta remember that before the drag racing scandal Jalen Carter was the #1 overall prospect ahead of Will Anderson. With 2 working shoulders, he’s easily the best player on a defense with 3 other All Pro caliber guys, including arguably the best CB in football (certainly top 5). And this is him playing at, what, 60-70% of his potential.

Quibble all you want about what "generational” means to you, but Carter is a truly elite TALENT. And a class above Cox was, and that’s no disrespect.

No. I dont think so.

AJ will be play for the Eagles next season. The following year will probably be a different story with only 4 million of his contract being guaranteed and a year older. He'll want a new deal. I see them moving on from him after this upcoming season.

One of my favorite players and the best WR in franchise history. Been a joy to watch him on the field

This is the full Goedert quote

Makes sense to bring him back for cap reasons. Doesn't his dead cap hit go down if they bring him back? Hopefully it's nothing more then a 2 year deal tops

Woah. They forgot to tell this guy he is only 5'8'' 208. What an angry little elf. Looks like Tank Bigsby running behind his pads, contact balance, and burst.

I am shocked to find that he is not related to Jordan Whittington. I just seem to love Whittingtons who play football. All Whittingtons in football are tough SOBs.

There has been some reporting they added a year just so they could post June 1st him, so his dead money is going down no matter what happens to him assuming that's true.

Chiefs GM Brett Veech said that when players announced this year that they’d go back for another year in college, they had to take 25 or so guys off their board who they had in the top 75-100. Yikes.

Can't believe we spent so much $ on a friggin' Kicker.

vikas,

Could there have been a 'void' somewhere in Jake's contract that we could have gotten out of said contract without a Cap hit?

Never said he wasn't an elite talent. I'll disagree about best player on the defense. It's Quinyon Mitchell and he does it at the most important position on defense. Without CB1, you've got Jackson and Ringo at CB. Without Carter, you still have Davis, Ojomo and Young.

I've said all along how much I love Carter. He is the best DT on the team and the best DT the Eagles have had since Fletcher Cox. I'll stand by my thoughts that Carter isn't on Cox's level yet, even though he's close.

Trade. For. 2027. Picks.

Pick 23 has a contract value of 4 years $20 million. Annual salary of $3.5, $4.5, $5.5, $6.5.

I wonder if the Eagles could say, we don't see anyone of value at 23. Let's trade out in your instance for a 2027 pick and rather than pay a 2026 1st round salary, use that money to put towards retention. Probably doesn't work that way, but if you have the option to draft Akheem Mesidor or extend Nolan Smith what do you do? Smith is only 4 months older than Mesidor.

Jets have 2 1s and 2 2s this year. We have their third. They have Dallas' 2nd rounder, which 44 overall. If they are willing to do that for McKee...

Would be tempting but going into the season with just one QB seems a bit risky to me.

Don't they still have a year of control over Sam Howell?

Would Bob Brown at 6-4 280 even make the practice squad in today's game? That's DIII OG/C size. I know it's really dumb to compare generations but watch these highlights. He doesn't even make the team in 2026. His technique is terrible. Great player for that era.

Recency bias. IIRC Munchak weighed similar. Size is a recency bias.

Yes it is. Size is. That's why I said he was great in that era. Watching his highlights though, some of it is plain ugly. Doesn't help that some of the tape is against Deacon Jones.

No. He’s a FA and said at locker room clean out more or less he would be looking to at least be a backup somewhere
