Post all the idiocy from beat reporters and "analysts" you want, but math is indeed math. This would leave us with just over $4mm in cap space to sign: multiple TEs, CB2, starting S, and multiple edge rushers. Can't get all that from the draft. And Howie usually keeps cap space going into the year of around ~$5mm.I know you’re very good with the cap but I saw it reported somewhere that when we redid his deal last year it was made so that that 20 million dead cap can be designated post june1st

They are 1 season removed from winning a Super Bowl. They have a young talented core of stud defensive players drafted homegrown all on rookie deals, about to get paid and locked up to keep them here. One of their "problems" is having so many good players, they can't keep them all. While there are concerns about O line health, new offensive coaching and some depth at some positions like Edge and corner, these are hardly issues that make them "screwed."If you mean screwed by being "stuck" with AJ Brown? (A dominant WR well liked by his teammates and coaches). They are really stuck before June 1st, so they can't trade him for picks in this upcoming draft. So even if they trade him, it's likely after June 1st for picks in next year's draft, perhaps a player involved. Teams still make deals throughout the year up to the trade deadline. Micah Parsons was traded in August.Frankly, people say this draft isn't as strong as they expect next year to be anyway. Play this draft smart and safe, take the BPA approach based on their board and get players they really love, their red star players and all that. If they trade AJ Brown for a 1st and whatever other pick next year then they go into a stronger draft with more options.Howie is in a good position. Side note, another strong aspect for Howie and the Eagles is that Howie has arguably the strongest job security in pro sports. There is no pressure to make risky, stupid moves to save his job. He's not going anywhere. He's proven to build two separate Super Bowl winning rosters under different coaching staffs. He can play the draft and all other acquisitions and moves the smart way and continue to build.

March 5Mar 5 Buffalo giving up a 2nd for DJ Moore is laughable. Howie might ask for even more now for Arthur Juan.

I think they take a step back next year. They'll waste a few years of high draft picks and be meh with Crosby

Gives use this year to determine if we need a new QB in 2027 with the new offense in place. Additional picks in 2027 to move up would be a smart move. If Hurts succeeds then you still have the picks to go in other need positions. We have to be honest, dont see a deep playoff run in 2026 with a "supposedly" new offense. We wont know who to replace until 1/2 or even 3/4 through the season to allow some time for the players to gel in the new system.

A lot of us expect this year to be kind of a "prove it" year for some people on offense and how the new coaches work out. O line health is a big concern. I like Dickerson and Jurgens but they were liabilities last year. I really hope they are getting the rehab and conditioning needed to recover and be ready. But since Dickerson actually considered retirement (supposedly due to a "report?"), and other young players are retiring for health reasons they have to plan for that and take a guard (I'd love to see them draft Gennings Dunker who could take over for Dickerson, or Steen if needed). 2027 could be a year with a mostly returning defense and a new look offense.

I remember being very angry over the selection plus passing on him who went immediately after.I mean you can blame Howie if you want for that pick. To me, it feels like when we passed on Sapp for Mamula.

March 5Mar 5 I want to see AJ Brown in Mannion’s offense. After the disaster we saw last year, I don’t know why they wouldn’t want to have a fully stocked unit with this new philosophy. There’s the mental aspect of it as well where you’re hoping he doesn’t implode the locker room, but this team is better with AJ on it. Now if someone offers you the farm for him you obviously have to entertain it, but the Moore trade today shows that AJ is worth at least a first rounder.
