They must be thinking go all in on big contracts for Davis, Carter, Mitchell & DeJean, and will just go cheap/rookie deal everywhere else and hope the talent overall is good enough.

I think they were willing to pay Phillips but not 30. They drafted Campbell last year so Dean was probably never a serious thought. And Reed I’m surprised but they obviously didn’t like him all that much

I hope it's not because Fangio is saying we don't need these guys, we can draft better replacements and coach them up...then he retires and the coaches aren't as good.

Howie knows you can't just lose players and not do anything to improve on paper. So something is coming besides just drafting guys.

Yep. Not that I am a fan of it as it didn't work out very well last off-season but at the very least he will look for cheap, low risk/high reward bargain signings to draft proof positions. Some examples:

Edge Rusher - Arnold Ebiketie, AJ Epenesa

Safety - Marcus Epps, Alohi Gillman, Geno Stone, Xavier Woods

Cornerback - Adore Jackson, Treyvon Diggs, Marcus Lattimore, Rasul Douglas

Tight End - Zach Ertz, Tyler Conklin

I also still wouldn't rule out a big ticket item like Hendrickson, Chubb, or guys like Goedert, Njoku, Newsome, Brisker, Cross, etc maybe ending up a lot cheaper than we expected and signed here.

Chubb has an injury history

So we'll probably sign him to a big contract

I'm fine with letting Goedert walk. I know he is a td machine but he is breaking down as he gets older and we need a lot more speed on offense. I would like to upgrade speed at WR, TE, and RB within these next two off seasons.

Well, Im thinking if we had money set aside to pay Phillips big, and we end up re-signing none of our guys, then they better go ahead and get Mooney or some decent WR. Maybe Mooney or Kirk.

They didn't speak to him last year, so not sure they are including him

Don’t forget about the Mann (or did I miss that transaction)?

I was talking about the big ones thatd take a decent chunk of change. But yes Mann is one of the most important. Hasnt been signed yet.

He doesn’t cancel out the Phillips comp pick so I could see him

Chig would be decent te option

My son just told me he has no hope for this team…..not sure how he’s surviving all these tough years

The offense is still basically the same as the SB year, outside of JD and MB, which may or may not be a good thing. We'll see about DG.

The defense lost a guy who was out for a big chunk of last year and most of the playoffs the SB year, a safety, and an edge.

-They need CB2, at least one safety and another for depth, and Edge.

-There are enough TEs they should be able to replace DG with a vet and draft one in rounds 2 or 3.

-I'd love to see them keep F Jackson but they need a better swing tackle option than Pryor.

-I'd love to see a vet at OG along with a draft pick

-There are a few CB2s out there who were cut by other teams. If one drops I wouldn't mind one at 22.

-Safety I'm guessing Epps comes back and a draft pick

They have some holes but it's early in the offseason. I don't see them being that much worse at all and could be better if Campbell and Mukuba take steps.

Cardinals need a Qb. Feels like that would be a good trade partner

Are the Cardinals built for a dual threat QB? McKee isn't that. Yeah he can run some but Kyler Murray he's not when it comes to running.

Well, heres my feelings so far.

I get not really getting to be active because we need to re-sign our own.

I dont really like NOT signing our own, AND not being active.

Pickins are already slim at pretty much every position. Time to get to work Howie.

Very true. They need to make a move to get better tho at some point but I’m sure it’s coming at least on paper.

Idk but Brissett isn’t a dual Qb

There’s no rush.

Every player that has agreed to terms elsewhere has agreed to much more (annually) than they were projected to get. I think this is just a matter of not overpaying players we already know well. It's day 1 of legal tampering. Howie is wise to sit this one out.

Predictable response. But incorrect. Like I said, already slim pickings pretty much every position.
