Time to get to work Howie.Out of the 3 players that we lost, Dean is only one who I am upset about losing. I know with Campbell that it was a long shot to re-sign him but he was a leader and seemed to be finally the player we thought we drafted.Reed honestly just didnt play that well last year. His lack of speed hurt them on the back end.The Eagles were never going to give Phillips the contract that he signed. If they can get Goedert signed, add Chubb and Brisker/Cross, that will be a pretty good start to FA. Get to work Howie!
March 10Mar 10 Sucks to lose Dean, he was the glue, but thats a pretty hefty contract for a dude with his injury history, but hey at least hes not in dallas, seeing him in a cowboy uniform would have gutted me

Bears let him walk. Think he must have had a down year or something.
March 10Mar 10 Thinking about midseason trade reinforcements… is Will McDonald projected to be back this season (he blew his knee late iirc)?

March 10Mar 10 I don’t think the Eagles will do this but I kinda hope they go heavy defense in the draft again. They desperately need to get younger and cheaper on offense but I just don’t think this is the draft to do it aside from TE. This is not the draft to go hog wild at OL. This is a really good defensive draft class and happens to be deepest at two positions the Eagles have right now as their biggest immediate weaknesses. Edge and safety. It would be incredibly risky to do this but I kinda hope they forego OL for one more draft. The goal of the draft is to take the best talents not reach for needs.

WR is very deep. TE is fairly deep. OL is just going to have to be developmental. Put the new coach's skills to the test. Dont really have a choice there.

All the coaches have input in the draft. Fangio's influence has them drafting corners and LB high, for example.

More than any other position the hit rate there drops off more than any other position after round 1. I just don’t think this class has great surefire OTs. And they don’t have Stoutland anymore to develop them. Go defense early and grab an IOL somewhere else. Save OT for 2027.

Save OT for 2027.There is no blue chip OT prospect in this draft, especially at 23, so I dont really consider 1st round OT an option.Id be gung ho for Iheanachor if we had Stout to develop him but I have no idea how thatll go with the new OL coach.

March 10Mar 10 I would have signed Reed at that price, but it's not a big deal.We didn't lose a single core piece today.
March 10Mar 10 Just now, RLC said:I would have signed Reed at that price, but it's not a big deal.We didn't lose a single core piece today.well the 2 most cerebral pieces of our D are now gone in 1 day. It CAN be a big deal.Defenders are often not great on their own. It functions best as a whole. When you weaken 1 unit, all of a sudden guys from a different unit may feel those effects. If you dont have the same elite LB play, the CBs may feel that and suddenly look like theyve giving up more yards for example. We have seen that before...As we prepare to pay DeJean and Mitchell, we may be limiting their effectiveness by losing their help on the back end, and the communicator back there, and the glue piece of the LBs in front of them. That can hurt significantly and make both of those CBs look a little worse moving forward while they end up getting paid huge deals.

March 10Mar 10 Cross, Brisker and Hawkins left at safety. It's a good draft for safety too but the needs are piling up and you only have one 1st rounder.
