Greg Newsome is still out there

Best OL in this draft is the kid from Penn St.

Hes a beast but hes strictly a guard and teams just dont value guard as much as tackle.

Hes a day one starter at guard and would be an immediate upgrade over Dickerson and Steen but I cant see the birds drafting a guard in the first to bench Steen when they have other more pressing needs to fill but I think that kid is a stud.

He will be gone well ahead of our pick too...

The Eagles tried to sign Reid last year at S. They just didn't like Reed as much as fans did

That likely would have been instead of drafting Mukuba.

There is no blue chip OT prospect in this draft, especially at 23, so I dont really consider 1st round OT an option.

Id be gung ho for Iheanachor if we had Stout to develop him but I have no idea how thatll go with the new OL coach.

I like Fano and Proctor

But they won't pay 2 safeties so they never intended to pay Reed any kind of money imo

My son just told me he has no hope for this team…..not sure how he’s surviving all these tough years

Time to show him 2001 through 2003 NFCCG’s

I'm sure a lot of us saw Reed leaving and Epps returning

Garafolo blamed still having AJ Brown as a reason that we didn't sign Blankenship or doing much in FA. blink

That's not true. He said he wasn't consulted on one corner acquisition.

All the coaches have input in the draft. Fangio's influence has them drafting corners and LB high, for example.

I thought he said that about a few secondary additions in FA/trade

Epps, Mukuba, and draft someone to add to the room.

Add a strong Edge player. Extend Carter.

Fano looks like a guard, they both do actually

Guy is delusional

A lot of turnover on the defense the last 2 offseasons now. My expectation is heavy on the defense in the draft. Which sucks bec we need to start working on the oline with some higher draft picks spent

Someone has to be feeding him that, I wonder who?

During our SB run, Baun was the green dot player. Losing Nakobe from a lining up perspective or calling plays was not a big deal.

Losing Reed there does hurt. But Coop/Quinyon in year 3 + Mukuba in year 2 should help. If we get a vet S, it's all good here.

What about that OT from Clemson - Blake Miller

The Eagles need to get out of this "need to draft Offensive players because we paid all the offensive players and now need to pay the good Defensive players” cycle.

Not complaining because it won a SB which is huge. Just think there needs to be more balance.

Come to think of it, they have approached this free agency as if they will be trading Brown pre-june 1st.

Vikas warned us that its basically tanking the season.

Well, we retained no one, and we have pivoted to sign no one. So... maybe it IS because there is no money since we will be trading Brown.

I think in reality there is. The majority of the picks may end up being offense, but that probably doesnt mean youll see the eagles egregiously skipping over a BPA edge or safety because they need offense now.

Don’t think they would have if you told them he’d only get 8m APY

I said this well over a month ago. I'm a bit worried they are all in with this mindset. I feel they need to take best players available. Monitor the board, slide up if someone falls that you covet like last year, or possibly slide back if 23 doesn't have anyone that sticks out on your board.

It’s true that they’re kind of in this position but it’s not a good place to be. I fear they’re going to go into the draft desperate for OL and end up reaching for one in the first round. And for those who say Howie won’t reach, don’t be so sure. Every team drafts for need to some degree, if you need a position enough, that could be enough to talk your GM into seeing more good on the player than there actually is because of how badly you need a certain position. But this draft just doesn’t line up with what they need to do on offense and I hope they don’t force it. It does however align with the immediate needs they just created on defense. This draft has so many good Edge players and safeties. And even plenty of good CBs who would make for good CB2’s. But this is the weakest OL draft I’ve seen in many years and it sucks because they need OL badly, but they put themselves in this position and the worst thing they could do is exacerbate it by reaching for needs.
