What about that OT from Clemson - Blake Miller

He's my prediction at 23 as of now.

I’m don’t get not matching Reed’s offer, that’s a bargain for an above average safety.

This might be Howie asleep at the wheel season.

Right. What Howie does best is sleep.

NFL.com says we have 4 comp picks so far,

Round 3 - 98

Round 4 - 137

Round 5 - 178

Round 6 - 215

That might have been a deal worth doing.

You think? Why?

Fano yes. Proctor looks like a guard to me

We have 3 mammoth developmental OTs already. And its a weak OT draft. If anything, take a guard early.

It’s true that they’re kind of in this position but it’s not a good place to be. I fear they’re going to go into the draft desperate for OL and end up reaching for one in the first round. And for those who say Howie won’t reach, don’t be so sure. Every team drafts for need to some degree, if you need a position enough, that could be enough to talk your GM into seeing more good on the player than there actually is because of how badly you need a certain position. But this draft just doesn’t line up with what they need to do on offense and I hope they don’t force it. It does however align with the immediate needs they just created on defense. This draft has so many good Edge players and safeties. And even plenty of good CBs who would make for good CB2’s. But this is the weakest OL draft I’ve seen in many years and it sucks because they need OL badly, but they put themselves in this position and the worst thing they could do is exacerbate it by reaching for needs.

Agree 100%, which is why I cringe every time I hear the Eagles NEED to draft "Lane Johnson's replacement" in this draft. This isn't the draft to do it. Force that pick and you need to draft OL againt next year AND fill holes at edge, safety, CB, etc.

Best available OL at 23. But it should be OT.

Howie called in sick today

Grew up in the 90’s I see.

Hard to root for the Phillies these days. It’s the same thing, over and over and over.

That’s for this draft it was projected we would only get 3 but we got the 4th..

Hear me out - here's an idea. First off, Almost every mock I've seen has the Chargers taking that kid from Penn State Ioane.

The Steelers # 21 pick is worth 800 points

Our #23 pick is worth 760 points

we trade with Pittsburgh sending them 23 and 147 ( worth 37.5 points for a grand total of 797.5 points ) and jump ahead of San Diego and select Ioane. Boom.

We piss off the chargers and get our RG for the next decade in one fell swoop

Is there another?

If they lost Philips, Dean, AND Blankenship, it feels like there is no reason to let Goedert walk at this point. At no point did we expect to have to let ALL of our talent walk. Goedert is the last big one left.

No. Let him go, in whatever way makes the most financial sense. There are ten TEs in this draft who can receive and he no longer is an effective blocker. You know I like Klein and if they go Sadiq he’s a way better receiver. Klein with one of the bonus picks and another thug to block outside.

Those are official, from last year. So not so far, it’s done with.

I like a few TEs in the draft, but its nicer to not have basically no TE on the roster heading in to the draft and Goedert looks very affordable at this point.

Fair to say.

You don’t trade up for IOL, you can find OGs. If you trade up it’s for an Edge or OT you love, I just don’t think that OT exists in this draft. The move was taking Josh Simmons last year in hindsight. You have your OT of the future and then re-sign Dean.

Meh. That idea literally just popped into my head so I thought I'd get an opinion.

Had a great 4 year run

Giving big contracts to Landon and Cam wasn't a good idea. Sure they're nice when they're healthy

If that is the case it's even more reason you bring back F Johson. Williams seemed raw last year and Pryor sucks. I wanted an OT this year, but would be good with secondary or edge or trading back vs reaching.

How did they not think it was a good idea to see how the surgeries/rehabs went when both were dealing with back issues
