Just seems like there's too much messaging and clarification out there that Patullo isn't even fired. In the last 15 mins it seems every national reporter and beat writer put out all the same thing which clearly came from the Eagles. The fact they can't even just fire him and move on in a clean break like every other team in the league doesn't give me much hope the plan is to do anything more than replace the OC. We'll see.

Nick's gonna make him the defensive coordinator in his own Juan Castillo move...

Honestly, I take it as them letting KP save face a little. He can stay as a glorified assistant to Nick, but I'm guessing they hope he has enough pride to resign.

So what happens if they get a new OC and the offense is no more than modestly improved and struggles with the same issues next year?

And Joel dunked from outside the charge circle last night too.

And his knee survived! Things are looking up!

It would be funny if he just dressed up like Big Dom and followed him around as his assistant. Big Dom already jumped the shark, he needs a reboot.

Then Nick and Hurts are on the chopping block. Jalen's 2027 comp only partially guarantees this March ($22mm). You could post June 1st him next offseason and push most of the dead money to 2028.

Not that I have any hope of McDaniel, but Daniel Jeremiah said he isn’t sure how McDaniel would mesh with Stoutland and how he likes to coach/teach OL.

I do think that's going to be part of the issue. I do think Stoutland is probably more flexible than people give him credit.

jumping ahead a little aren't you?

Jonathan Jones said Sunday night if McDaniel doesn't get a HC job, he thinks either the Lions or Eagles for him. Also mentioned Daboll and Kingsbury.

Please don't crush my dreams until pre-season starts.

The statement that they have no doubt he will continue to have a successful coaching career seems to imply he's gone. As in he'll be continuing his career elsewhere, but could just be a biased interpretation on my part.

That was how I saw it. Odd phrasing for someone sticking around.

I'd love to see Nick here as a coach. He's smart, likeable, a good leader. Would love to see him as the QB coach and help him become better and better, as he said.

I’d hate to see Nick here as a coach…he’s so absolutely beloved by us fans, the city and the org. The thought of needing to possibly hate him at some point, nope…i want no part of it.

So Patullo told Fitzpatrick "it's not my fault, no one understands the inner workings."

Couple things to unpack there. Whether or not he should have said anything is not my concern. First off, it's human nature that no individual in the organization really thinks the dysfunction or failure is on them. They rationalize and divert blame. Everyone does it. But secondly, taken at face value...it does make you wonder if there were forces at work besides his own that were forcing the route concepts, conservative restraint, and overall flow of the offense.

Like I said, no professional coach just gets pleasure out of toggling off the "scheme them open" button and having everyone run one route.

I took it as if he can't get a job anywhere else, they'll bring him back in some BS role to help him save face and stay in the league.

Yup. If they aren’t better with a new OC then i would be surprised if both are back in 2027. I feel like one of the two is gone if that’s the case.

He’s gonna be the guy who runs on the field to get the kick off tee lol.

Or like the dog they have is director of joy. He’ll be the director of disappointment

To be honest, if the offense is bad again next year, I think you have to put that more on Hurts than Nick (assuming Nick steps back from the offense). Jalen clearly was never on board with KP, and he know owns this to a degree. If they hire someone who was a successful track record and Jalen isn't better, than he is the problem. Nick will claim KP got fired because of the QBs limitations.

The pressure on Jalen is now much higher.

Kinda don't like how they phrased it that he may still be on the staff in some capacity. Just cut bait and get some fresh eyes and new ideas in the building.

Great call Dianna, I thought the answer was promoting Parks Frazier. Stupid me.
