Howie or Doug or others in similar positions don't worry about what other GMs, coaches, etc. hear through the media.

The media makes believe that GMs and coaches listen to them in order to exaggerate their importance so that fans pay more attention to them, and gullible fans believe that ish, but coaches and especially GMs talk to each other directly all the time, and they all know better than to listen to the media.

They do try to manipulate the media, though, because they know that the players are affected by the media and the fans.

So what Howie's trying to do there is to manipulate the media and the fans so that we won't tear down Carson Wentz (as badly) if they do have to bring him back.

That is what I was saying but, you said it waaaayy better lol. GMs are not going to be like "oh Howie said he is keeping Carson, that must mean he is still a good QB".

Back in 2017 when he was in Mr. MVP, there was an article written about Carson being such a control freak, however it was being written in a positive light.  In the article there was a quote from his mother, Carson has to always be in control, the family had to walk on egg shells every day until they knew what mood Carson was in that day.   That was from a positive article about Carson.   If what is being said know is true about wanting a trade, then Carson is probably the problem, an entitle, Holy roller who thinks it should be his way or the highway.  If that is the case, I say good riddance.   Just another athlete with an attitude problem that will never be fixed and he will just be a memory in 3 years.  Because he will fail no matter where he goes.  Sad but true.  Too many example to list, but I will give you one name.  Jay Cutler, all the talent in the world.  Never took responsibility for his play.  Pouted, pointed fingers at everyone but himself.

Possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever read

I read a similar article where John Wick said Wentz is the Boogeyman.

Hmmmm so Mort didn't get his report from Carson or his team?   So the Eagles or someone within the Eagles are releasing this information?

Carson isn't treating Little Les like Little Les matters as much as Little Les wants to matter.

Poor guy. Hope he gets a piece of candy or something to make him feel better.

Seems like a lot of fans here are under the impression that they know as much as the coaches and GMs.

This doesn't say that though? This says it didn't come from Carson, doesn't mean it didn't come from someone within Carsons camp? The fact that he's not willing to speak out and clarify his position does speak volumes.

Overanalyze much?  Why does he need to speak about any of it?  He doesn't owe Les (or anyone else) anything.  When he does, you will just analyze every word to determine "what he really said".

Because there are more than rumours now circulating that he wants to be traded. If he wants to stay or at least wants to quieten these rumours then why can't he just squash these reports?

Carson declines an exit interview with the media. Declines an opportunity to dispel these rumors. Saying nothing says something. Meanwhile his supporters still kissing his beanbag thinking everything is just fine.

That's my thoughts exactly. He could very quickly and very easily dispel these rumours. He could do so even if he actually would like to be traded. But he didn't, he declined to comment.

How is it "more than rumours"?   Carson hasn't said anything and you are assuming that his "camp" leaked it, because the media, social media, and a few trolls on the EMB says so.

And here's a news flash - What confident player wants to be a backup? No one should need the media to tell them that.

He hasn't even talked to Doug about it yet why would he go to the media first?

He was asked by the media and he declined to comment. If its untrue why does he need to talk to Doug about it first? Just dispel the rumor.

If he was truly a "confident player” then he’d have no problem just going out and winning his starting job back.

You have no idea if he is confident in that or not.  You haven't heard anything from him.  You ALSO are basing your concept on crappy Philly media, social media posts, and dolts on a message board.  You and UK should quit assuming so much.

It’s just simple logic that if he DIDN’T want out and the rumors were false, he’d come out and say so. His silence on the subject says it all.

Cause Doug is his coach? What kind of question is that? Why would carson go to media with anything before his own team? The media is trash I wouldn't say anything to them either. They are the ones that put all this sheet out there to begin with why would carson trust what he says to them not to get twisted?

Again I ask, what does he have to gain from fielding questions yesterday?

I if he did talk and said they weren't true and he wants to be here only to be traded at some point guess what, media questions if he's a liar. If Wentz came out and said they're true guess what, media once again calls him weak for avoiding a QB battle.

Lose-lose for him.

The point is the rumors (personally I think they’re 100% true) are out there. He doesn’t need to talk to his coach before saying "no, rumors of me wanting to leave aren’t true. " His silence is just as good as confirming that he does indeed want our.

How is it a lose for him if he says no I don’t want to be traded, then he’s traded anyway? That would mean he didn’t want to be traded but the team had other ideas. Wouldn’t look bad on him at all.

Do you think if he did come out and say that to the media you would believe him? Or just say he said that to cover his ass?
