He said they should trade him, but probably won’t because Howie is tied to him and it puts him on the hot seat.  So he basically added another fact of why he won’t be traded.

I think Howie is tied to the outcome of this decision to be honest. If he keeps Wentz and Wentz doesn't turn it around then he's gone. If he trades Wentz and Hurts is not good then he's gone. If he trades Wentz and Wentz turns it around elsewhere then Howie's seat is going to be very warm.

This very well could be the big reason why Howie survived this. He could of put it all on the line and convinced Lurie that Wentz will turn it around or Hurts will be the future. So it could be another Chip Kelly situation and Lurie is giving Howie enough rope to hang himself with.

The way Lurie defended Howie to the point of giving him credit for other teams picks and how he gushed over the other people in the FO I just don’t see it. They truly believe they are the cream of the crop.

Your preaching to the Wentz hater hotline in this threat. Common sense does not exist here.

Common sense says that if Wentz wanted to be here and this controversy was truly manufactured, he'd have spoken up by now to clear the air. He doesn't. He wants out because he's actually been given a small dose of accountability for the first time in his life.

Jalen Mills really wants to be an Eagle! Meanwhile dopes idol worship a guy who doesn’t give a crap about them.

Jalen Mills is set to be a free agent. He's posturing for a new contract. Wentz is under contract. He doesn't have to say anything. If you actually take the time to think about it, Wentz doesn't know any more than us about what the team's plan is for him. Most people still feel he's more likely to be traded than kept this season. So why should he cater to the fans and media during his offseason? Just to make you happy? Just to give a writer a new piece?

The Eagles have made it pretty clear they want Wentz. They have fired their SB winning coach and hired the next best thing to Carson whisper Reich. They dumped a SB winning backup quarterback. They gave Carson a big contract. They have answered all the questions that have been asked about Carson. Carson’s camp is allegedly where the rumors came from. Quite hilarious and completely predictable an apologist would try and make him the victim over drama his people started and drama he’s refused to quell. Matt Stafford was under contract, but he got out of Detroit, cause he wanted out. Watson is probably getting out of Houston. Sure does seem like a lot of quarterbacks are getting out of their teams, cause they want out. Keep blaming the Eagles for Carson wanting out though. 🙄

For the record Jalen Mills can go anywhere and get a contract. I’m sure there are teams out there who would be willing to give him one. He wants to be an Eagle. You want Carson to be an Eagle, but I don’t think Carson wants to be an Eagle. Prove he does.

This thread has become incredibly stupid... There is not a damn thing to say anymore to change anyone's mind. Let it play out at this point.

The direct source is 11 and he’s not talking while he’s basically making national news. He could have easily dispersed all of this when he came out and praised McLeod. He could have gave a slight mention to next season and working hard together or something. Letting the people know he wants to be here. He’s working hard to keep us all in limbo. He’s sending a message. You keep implying I’m wrong, but your proof he wants to be here is based on what?

You're lumping arguments together.

The last several posts were asking about his character since George keeps saying how he is "acting" won't fly in Philly.  I've cited many times the facts that players and coaches have stated that he's a good teammate, works hard, first in first out, etc.  One comparison was made to his relationship to Hurts.  We know for a fact that Hurts himself said in a PC during the season Wentz was helpful to him on the sidelines discussing what he's seeing in the defense and he's a good teammate.  Kelce said so.  Obviously Ertz said so he's his best friend.  Doug said Wentz was a good teammate and doing all the right things.

Him wanting or not wanting to be traded is a separate argument.

I'm not arguing Carson doesn't want to be here or not.  We don't know what Carson thinks.  The media doesn't know either, but that doesn't stop them from spreading it in reports.

You keep beating the drum of Carson needs to speak...well, he's not so...that's his choice.  He has an agent, family, etc. giving him advice.  He knows the Philly market, he's dealt with media for 5 years.  He's not dumb.  He's choosing not speak to not make more of a story.  You can infer things, but there's no point in whining every day that he's not speaking to the media or sending a tweet.

IMO Carson took a blow to his ego and wanted to get away from things and get his head right.  Wait and see.  Doug was fired, he wanted to see who the new coach is.  Now he has to see how things go with this new coach, and if the team decides to trade him (whether he wants to go or not). Now he's seen Goff traded, Watson saying publicly he wants out.

Sure, it would be nice if he made a statement saying he didn't ask to be traded and he's willing to work, etc.  But I've also said many times he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.  Whatever he says will either be criticized, or people won't believe him anyway and still argue these same points regardless.

Prove to me the guy wants to be here. You can’t say he’s damned if he does or doesn’t since we haven’t seen any proof that he’s done anything that proved he wants to still be here.

He hasn't asked for a trade publicly or said he would rather sit out.   That was Watson.....As a matter of fact, how are we to know what Wentz has done?  It's the off-season.  What do you want him to do?  Get a tattoo and share it on social media like a branding?

He could have simply spoke before he left. You don’t think he knew of the rumors that were swirling beforehand? Watson hasn’t publicly stated he wanted to be traded anymore than Wentz has. Schefter told you that. Funny that you believe it when he says it about Watson, but not when he says it about Wentz. Yeah Wentz is happy here since he got benched and they drafted another guy to take his place. 🙄

No schefter said Watson has officially requested a trade. For Wentz schefter said he guesses that wentz wants a trade.

"(He) wants to leave the franchise," Schefter said. "That's why (a) trade still is in play. This is all real. None of this is made up."

Yeah that is not about Watson.

So basically both in either scenario it's just adam schefter saying all of this and no direct quote from either QB.

In a move that should come as a surprise to no one, the Pro Bowl quarterback has asked for a trade, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, who reports Watson issued his request weeks ago.

We can do this all day neither one has a direct quote

So in other words you believe it when he says it about anyone not named Wentz. Funny thing though. You know who could clear this all up? Some guy named Carson Wentz. Prove to me Carson doesn’t want to be traded.

No just saying there is a 50 different stories wording it all differently for both QBs. It's all media nonsense for both of them.

I don't need him to say it at all. I'm only interested in what actually happens and not what people say in the media

Was just stating that schefter has reported it differently for both QBs not that I believed one report over another

Yeah it’s not simply media nonsense here bud. These men both want out. I think the Eagles would prefer to keep Wentz, but if they got the right price he’s probably gone.

"NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that teams have begun calling the Eagles about trading for their franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz.”

And I've seen reports that said the eagles are not actively shopping wentz but will listen to offers that would blow them away. Actually read your post again so basically you saw the same

That’s about the EAGLES. That’s not about Wentz. He doesn’t want to be here and frankly hasn’t shown in any way anything contrary to that.

You can choose not to believe it, but I don’t see them arbitrarily saying every quarterback wants to be traded. I don’t see any "Patrick Mahomes wants out” rumors do you?

This would be one of those times I think you are hell bent on an idea that I don't agree with. So respectfully I'm going to bow out because I respect you as a poster and we mostly see eye to eye on a lot of things just not this one. We can revisit this and talk about it once we see what happens at a later time.

I respect that. Regardless if he’s here or not I don’t think this problem goes to bed until he states where he stands one way or another.

It would definitely be nice if he came right out on camera and stated these things I don't disagree with that. Where we disagree is I don't feel like he needs too. You do and that's fine I understand where you are coming from.
