What exactly did he show?  He drove down the field against a marginal, tired defense.  What did he show you when he air mailed Sanders on a pitch and catch TD that a HS QB could make?  What did he show you on the int’s?  What about his decision making on the day?  Were you impressed with his pocket awareness?  What about his fantastic demeanor and body language? What a leader, right?

The only thing I’ve seen is that a QB who has made a career out of padding stats against lesser defenses is now unable to even beat lesser defenses.  Meanwhile, our SB MVP came off the bench and led his team to an improbable win.

Burrow was clearly the superior QB today.

I was talking about the game tying drive only. Not his play the whole game. His decision making on the day was terrible. Still overthrowing receivers. When it came down for the tie he delivered. But with 3 separate possessions in OT gotta get a score. He basically did until the Herbig hold and the Pryor false start at the end.

They aren’t very likable either. You see guys get beat for first downs and start dancing cause they made a tackle. Peters holds the team hostage for more money and then proceeds to look like trash all game.

Kind of the same way. I'm certainly happy just to have football to watch, but I don't really care what happens much.

Dang, I lost all my posts and am a newbie now 😞

Agreed, this team is just so unlikable

I doubt you knew, but I was Jupiter520.  I didn't post much in TATE toward the end before the move anyways, and had totally ditched CVON.

Yes I do remember you. Have you talked to @VaBeach_Eagle? He may be able to restore your name and post/like counts.

Ah, cool. Nah, I'm pretty ok with it tbh, but thanks for the heads up should I change my mind.

I should get a commission for sending him your way.

I don’t know if it’s injuries or the loss of DeFilippo, but he hasn’t been the same. Truth be told, it’s prolly a bit of both...

His accuracy is off and it’s not because he’s lost strength... it’s not like Peyton Manning’s final season where injuries had mounted so much that he just couldn’t throw the ball with the same touch, speed, accuracy, etc..

Wentz is just too nervous and rushed in the pocket and it’s affecting his accuracy... maybe he’s worried about getting hurt again... maybe he doesn’t trust the O-line to protect him... maybe he doesn’t trust the receivers and tight ends to make the catch or run the right routes... maybe he doesn’t trust the play calling... maybe he’s pissed about Hurts getting drafted.... maybe he’s still depressed about Foles being at the helm when we won our first Super Bowl in historic fashion.... etc... who knows?

But, his head isn’t where it needs to be and he isn’t growing and improving the way he should be. We should be talking about him, at the very least, as a top 10 QB in this league right now...truthfully, with the draft position and hype, a Top 5, ... but instead, his numbers and his play have him ranked towards the bottom. Even if we lose, this guys ability and what he’s shown should have him throwing for 250-300 yards a game and a few TDS... that’s what you expect when you draft a QB that early, hand him the reigns to start as a rookie, and essentially anoint him as the leader and savior of the franchise.

I hate to say it, but today as I watched the Cincinnati game, I found myself getting frustrated seeing him sort of half-grinning after he’s trotting off the field after overthrowing a receiver in third down ... and it happened more than a few times.

I don't think any QB would do well right now with this bunch of WRs and practice squad OLine. But that still doesn't completely excuse all those INTs. He needs to make better decisions.

He’s continually missing open guys with a clean pocket. He isn’t playing well.

I noticed this too and even as someone who's supported him, this rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not saying you need to scream and cry, but your team is 0-2 on the verge of losing another game and you're a big reason as to why....and you're smiling.

I forgot which play it was after, but he shook his head and had an "aw shucks" aura to him.

Nah, he still has plenty of brainwashed disciples in the fanbase.  Some in the Eagles Blog melting down as we speak!

I swear I cringe everytime one of them (especially trashy mills) makes a tackle because there seems the need to make a dance out of it as well. This team is awful top to bottom...wentz and that ducking ish has to go, it doesn't help him escape anymore. He can't seem to make a decent throw beyond five yards and cannot for the life of himself hit a player in stride. We said he was regressing but this is just ridiculous because its with each game now. He is undeniably bad...it was a mistake letting Foles go (I know yall are tired of hearing that but look what he did today). If I have to see Boston Scott run right up the middle during a run one more time I swear I am going to lose it. They need to include Ward in more of the offensive snaps because he is again showing he is not a fluke and is a legit threat. Jackson...not even sure what to say anymore. JP....not even sure what to say anymore. Its terrible you have to watch other teams play to see how a good football team performs in every aspect.....

I hate it here....

Same here. Haven't paid much attention to the offseason either. Wentz looks like a rookie forced into the starting role. I've been defending him the past 4 years but now I'm expecting him to screw up every other play and honestly surprised when he makes good plays these days. I lost confidence in him and the coaching staff

I disagree. Look at Burrow and his receivers. They're no better than ours. He clearly outplayed Wentz. Carson blew it once again. Doug is even worse and I don't know what the hell kinda play calling and play designs he has. He's no offense genius and really needs a legit OC. What an epic fail on his revamped coaching staff.

From the looks of his body language and attitude today, I'm betting things will get a lot worse before it gets better.

Yep. There once was a time I thought we had a quarterback, but those days seem years ago now.

It  WAS  years ago . . . 3 to be exact.

Actually, we had two of them . . .

The QB factory looks like it went out of business in 2017.

  • QB - Wentz has the yips, enough has been said about it but today was hard to watch. He played like his usual self until the second half of the Washington game where he got absolutely got smashed to a pulp. I'm thinking his pocket clock has been mangled and he has no confidence in the line and it's messing with his head now. I'm not one for kneejerk reactions but if he continues on his current trajectory then i don't see how we can't start Hurts.
  • RB - Sanders is fantastic, literally the only bright spot it seems. Boston Scott isn't a fit for this terrible O-Line at the moment, but also why weren't we trying to isolate him in space/screens etc? Seems like a bad mesh for the state of the team right now but play calling isn't helping. Corey Clement may as well be blind, i've never seen someone run so hard into the back of his own linemen.
  • WR - Djax is cooked, stick a fork in him. Greg Ward - most teams 4th receiver but our #1/#2. JJAW - complete trash just cut him already. Watkins/Hightower - JAG/WHO?
  • TE - Ertz - Literally the only weapon we have, Goedert - Inconsistent hands to start the year and now hurt
  • LT - Peter is cooked, put a fork in him
  • LG - Herbig is a nice back up but you're in trouble if you're relying on him starting games, which we are
  • C - As advertised
  • RG - What a mess
  • RT - As advertised

  • LE - Graham - As advertised/love that guy
  • DT - Cox is clearly hurt and not flashing like usual, Malik has been just ok, when tf are we going to see a return on Hargrave? Mr invisible for two games now.
  • RE - Sweat/Barnett - Both looked good today, hopefully a nice rotation forming there.
  • LBs - Bradham is on the street, tell me why not? Guy can still go sideline to sideline and is better than 'almost' Gerry and 'over-pursuit' Riley.
  • CBS - Slay, stud, it's going to be a year of watching him make splash plays that will be undone by the rest of the crappy team (see Mixon's 3rd and 15 scamper). Maddox is always a reliable tackler.....after the WR gains big on him. NRC - I've not seen anything that makes me think he's the best slot corner in the league as suggested, Trevor Williams? JAG.
  • Safeties - McCloud i actually think brings some energy and he flashes but disappears for long stretches. Mills is a moron, the guy could be down 50 and tackle a guy who crosses the first down marker and would still celebrate - He's done nothing in coverage to make me want him on the team

  • ST - Elliot is great, i'm sure he would have crushed the pre-penalty FG given the chance. Cam Johnston - Does the job.
