I cannot believe how badly Howie and Doug Fed this all up.

If Lurie doesn't clean house of both of them he's dumber than I thought he was.  I don't blame Wentz in the least.

Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being a good/solid QB.  But I dont see ever being an elite one like we thought.

I fully expect to to return to his 2019 form. Don't think he's a winner, but he'll rebound nicely on the stat sheet. Will be well received in a smaller, more patient market.

I'm not buying this one for a second.

I think lurie has bought back Doug because he believes (wrongly in my opinion) that Doug can be the one to turn Wentz around.

Now Carson isn't dressing for tonight's game and this emerges? He's not dressing because it's a meaningless game, their DL is scary good and our OL is depleted and has struggled this year.

Why hate for Wentz? He wants to be a starter. Any former starter would feel this way.

Problem with his performance this year, yes. But he's also not said anything publicly and apparently been a supportive teammate.

Yeah this is a different type of city, fanbase and media.  They dont tolerate weak minded players that cant handle criticism.

Why did Hurts transfer again?

I don't have any hate towards Wentz. My only problem is his lack of thick skin and his temper tantrums on the field. Grow a pair

Got it ... we tolerate players that come here after doing such things, but not players  that do that here.

Come on man....you're really gonna compare the 2 situations?

One guy in his late 20's that's been in the league 5 years that has proven he cant handle a quality backup behind him.

Another guy transferred 2-3 years ago while in college.  I dont remember him making a fuss about it.  College kids do that all the time, dont they?

He was too fragile to play cause we drafted a QB and now he is too fragile to stay here cause he got benched weeks after anyone else would have. That’s mentally soft, so let him go "win” somewhere else. He hasn’t won anything here in 5 years anyway and is paid ridiculous money.

If I were Wentz I wouldn't trust anyone in this organization either. I said way back when the trust is broken and can't be fixed.

Last week, we had a shot to remain in the playoff picture. Our offense started good, and then fizzled. We had a QB on the sideline that has played his best football in those moments (season on the line) and we continued to keep him "benched." Benching a player was supposed to be a tool used to teach. All the arguments in favor of benching Wentz claimed he could learn from this action. When you look at how this played out, it's really not a benching --- it was a replacement. Doug committed to Hurts at the final crucial moment of our season.

Even though we don't have a comment or quote from Wentz at this point. The writing was already on the wall. This report is expected. Doug handled this entire situation incorrectly, IMO. If the team is sticking with Doug, we need to move Wentz.

Has he? You mean in 1 season? Because that's the only sample you have there.

TBH, I'm making fun of the notion that this fan base won't tolerate certain things. They absolutely will. Oh --- they'll complain no doubt. They'll complain about bad things and good things ... and if they have to, they'll make things up to complain about.

Wentz has played like ish this year. There's no saying he would've done this year what he did the last 4 games of the season last season. He straight sucked this year. Hurts has played better but has struggled in the 2nd half. Doug hasn't helped either succeed

Agreed. Wentz was utter garbage, Hurts was at least decent and at times was very good. It was an upgrade for sure.

To be fair, Carson is 1 for 1 when it comes to season on the line situations.

1 for 1? How so?

It’s comical that people are blaming Wentz after not giving him any weapons, drafting a QB in round 2, then benching him only when the whole team was struggling and continues to struggle after him. Who would wanna stay on a team like that?

Technically he was 4 for 4 in season on the line situations.

He balled the hell out 4 games in a row through our division to get us to that Seattle playoff game.  And had he not gotten that cheap shot from Clowney he very well could've gone 5 for 5.

If they lost any of those last 4 games they don't make the playoffs in 2019.

So wentz got paid a billion dollars, comes out and is one of the worst 3 qbs in the league, gets benched for his horrendous play, and now is mad about it and demands a trade.

This dude doesn’t have the mental fortitude or resilience to win long term in this league.

Yea you're right. I was looking at it as a whole rather than individually like you pointed out.

We were in the same position as last year. Wentz came through for us last year. Entering this season it was Wentz' team. He's the leader, the face of the franchise, the franchise QB. He had some poor moments this season and the benching was supposed to motivate him. It can't accomplish anything if the benched player doesn't get a chance to redeem himself with better play. What it really did was just punish him and hurt the team. We have a legitimate scapegoat.

This is nothing against Hurts. I liked some of the things I saw from him. He did do some of the things that were listed as reasons for the Wentz benching. I'll be rooting for Hurts tonight and next year when Wentz isn't here. Unfortunately, we already know what to expect from the fans here as a portion of us has turned on every starting QB we've had because there's some myth out there that a perfect QB exists. Right now, "the grass is greener" for Hurts, but in a year or two, some people will be complaining the moment he gets an extension. There will always be doubters, critics and haters.

As good a place as any (thread) to go down with my ship....................

I have said repeatedly the problem wasn't the QB or the coach as much as it is their visions simply don't mix.  One or the other.  *Both an option for me if the owner wishes.  Wentz was MVP of the league until the goalline at the Coliseum in 2017.  He didn't forget how to play.  Reich's balanced offense is what he needs to succeed.  They also draft better.  He'll be fine and win titles if he stays healthy.  Good luck Carson, thanks for the good memories.

Pederson's Reidball works best with a QB scramble his favorite run play.  The move for Hurts morphs-for a moment-from travesty to Godsend.  We all know full well how it always ends in this league for any scrambler.....we just have to hope it takes awhile and the Eagles can benefit from his contract to put the pieces back in place.  Injury history + contract soften the blow for #11 leaving no matter what.  What pains is Errand Boy remaining to run the rebuild.  No bueno.  I wanted him gone before it was cool.  Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Barely watched.  Glad it's almost over.  Off-season to do: Develop a proper "pasta plan" so I can figure out what to have ready to hurl through a TV on Draft Day..........

That's always what gets lost when people rag on Wentz.

He threw this team on his back and played playoff football for a month to get us into the playoffs.  Through 4 division opponents, with all the injuries, with Greg Ward as his #1 weapon.

And then there was 2017 where we were on cruise control with Wentz right up until that Rams game.

People seriously think he wants out because of Hurts?    He wants out because Doug and Howie are running this team into the ground and I don't blame him at all.
