complete baby and diva. all that locker room gossip was 1000000000% true

he must be a complete pain in the ass to deal with.

His miserable play is all on him. Everyone in the league has to deal with injuries and suboptimum rosters, but he's paid what he is, one of the biggest contracts in the entire league, to lead and elevate the rest of the team. That's literally his job. And he literally played like a bottom 3 QB.

Throwing the toys out of the tram and pouting because of his own failures is not what leaders do.

His interceptions/fumbles/sacks taken/general inaccuracy and other bone-headed decisions are no-one else's fault.

I can't blame him for wanting a fresh start somewhere else. He probably feels that it just will not work in Philly. The whole Foles thing, and now being benched for a Rookie.

We were in the same position as last year. Wentz came through for us last year. Entering this season it was Wentz' team. He's the leader, the face of the franchise, the franchise QB. He had some poor moments this season and the benching was supposed to motivate him. It can't accomplish anything if the benched player doesn't get a chance to redeem himself with better play. What it really did was just punish him and hurt the team. We have a legitimate scapegoat.

This is nothing against Hurts. I liked some of the things I saw from him. He did do some of the things that were listed as reasons for the Wentz benching. I'll be rooting for Hurts tonight and next year when Wentz isn't here. Unfortunately, we already know what to expect from the fans here as a portion of us has turned on every starting QB we've had because there's some myth out there that a perfect QB exists. Right now, "the grass is greener" for Hurts, but in a year or two, some people will be complaining the moment he gets an extension. There will always be doubters, critics and haters.

That’s the thing. Real well run teams stick behind their franchise QB for 1 year, support him, provide him with help. Look at Cleveland that stick behind Baker last year and he’s balling this year.

Meanwhile we had people here crying to bench our franchise QB week 8. Claiming that benching a QB and watching from the sidelines will "make him better”. Hope those guys enjoy our QB carousel next 5 years. What am I saying though, fans here have always needed a QB controversy for the last 15 years.

Funny cause he didn’t cry or complain at all when he was the starter. Not once. It was all the fans crying for their franchise QB to be benched 8 weeks into the season. And now their crying yet again that he wants out from a horribly coached team that failed even after he was benched

Guy has a decent season as a rookie, a great season in 2017, bad season in 2018, good season in 2019, and was the worst starting QB in the NFL in 2020. He has ZERO playoff wins and is barely over .500 as a starter. Meanwhile the Eagles gave him 128 million and this Fing baby is going to demand a trade because his feelings are hurt and he would have to actually compete for a starting job. F him and anyone defending him in the slightest. Between all of this, the Philly Voice article from a couple of years ago, the Alshon leaks, etc it's obvious this guy is a major problem and all about himself. Good riddance motherFer.

Sorry bud but this is BS. Benching Wentz hurt the team? No it didn't. It helped the team. He was in the bottom 3 QBs in the NFL. He was awful all year not just had some poor moments.

yes, because he got what he wanted. which was to be a starting qb. But people have to be liable for the consequences of their play. Blaming this on coaching and whatever else is just making excuses. It's pathetic. What does coaching have to do with inaccuracy and bone-headed decision-making? He's the quarterback, not Doug

Yeah Reid started McNabb the following week, so he clearly still believed in him. I would have liked to see Carson play again this year to see if benching him did anything. I guess Pederson lost faith in him.

Like you said before, I think it was you, this wasn't just a benching it was flat out replacement. Doug didn't even have the balls to tell Carson he was benched, Wentz said himself he thought Hurts was going in for a play or a series.

Why are we 1-2 and about to be 1-3 after him if it has nothing to do with the coaching?

Another report for the neanderthal portion of the fan base to eat up

All these tough guy Wentz haters would have never acted like such a p*ssy on their 1973 high school football team.  Theyd have taken state

Almost all the posters in this thread have wanted wentz benched since week 8 or whatever and have wanted the franchise to trade him and move on with hurts and now they are in here crying because wentz might have requested a trade????  Shouldn’t you idiots be happy??

How did it help the team? The inexperienced replacement made some plays, but his mistakes hurt us last week when we controlled our own playoff fate. He wasn't "awful all year" either. I mean, if it helps you move on to believe that, then whatever, but he had some good moments this year --- added a couple come from behind wins to his resume.

I don't want Carson traded as I believe he can and will bounce back. If he really does want out of Philly, well too bad for me and others of the same opinion

He was awful. He was awful every week bar a few good moments. It's almost a complete reverse of what you said. A few poor moments? Jeez.

Good Fing riddance to this loser.  He’ll never win anything anywhere I guarantee it.  Biggest THIEF since Bernie Madoff.

I just hope he takes these dope Washers with him!

Have fun rooting for your binky on the colts! 🤣

I do think before we start slating Wentz here we should wait to see where this report goes. I'm still not convinced it is true to be honest. The natural reaction is to slate him (unless you're a Wentz guy) but I think we need to see what else comes out here.

I don't have any hate towards Wentz. My only problem is his lack of thick skin and his temper tantrums on the field. Grow a pair

I've never seen him throw a temper tantrum and neither have you. I don’t blame him and wouldn't want to be around this cluster f of an organization either.

God I hate the media now. This is just like the story two weeks ago, "reportedly expected". That means they're just throwing ish against the wall. The clown that reported this will come out in two days and say everyone misunderstood what he was saying just like the other idiot

I'm a Wentz guy, see both sides, called the issue.  Eagles *purportedly* will have their talons forced.......  If that is indeed the case; just making a personal choice to look for the silver lining while closing my eyes to the storm clouds passing by.  Also making contingency plans to change my jersey to........"Van Brocklin"...............

I still love that INT on 4th and 20 from our own 15 that netted us almost 60 yards.

I've seen him bang his helmet down in frustration a couple times. It's a bad look and definitely immature. I think he's still about 2 or 3 seasons away from being a mature player.
