Everything else is just TALK and HYPE. I had high hopes like everyone else concerning Mannion- even defended him. What I saw last night was a joke- they didn't even try to play football. Unacceptable on EVERY level. And Mannion showed us how to be shut out for and entire game, basically. Great offense there, evil genius. I didn't see the game but GEEZZZ was it THAT bad??
August 17Aug 17 Author lol at the overreactions to a preseason game! First, we never show ANYTHING in the preseason. Second, I wouldn't expect a polished product at this point even if we were ... expect lumps early and hope that as the season progresses it starts to look like what we expect. If come November 1 the offense looks terrible I'll become concerned.

But this may have been the 1st game where I've seen the offense do literally nothing for an entire preseason game. I've seen guys struggle and fail to make the team. Tebow played awful and was eventually cut. Clayton Thorson was awful, and didn't make the team. McCord was bad and didn't make the team. What should be concerning is we had Dalton, who is a proven player and McKee who has looked good or decent in virtually every other opportunity. This was Mannion's first game as a play caller and even with what he had to work with, was unable to get 1st downs, convert third downs, etc... Other teams are vanilla in preseason and manage to move the football. So fans should be upset with what we saw. If it wasn't for Payton's feet, we wouldn't have even managed 100 yards of offense (and those runs weren't called plays).
August 18Aug 18 It's pre season I'm not worried at all right now... If the season starts and the offense looks putrid AGAIN yeah I'll be worried... No starters... Vanilla offense... Back when we had chip Kelly and Bradford the offense was moving the ball with ease then the regular season started and they were awful... It means nothing

That's a bad sign for any new coach. His offense was non existent- there WAS NO OFFENSE. The WHOLE GAME. He is just making excuses. Where is the "evil genius?"He is hiding behind the curtain, just like in OZ.

Saturday at 06:16 PM5 days There should be concerns about the offense. Mannion is only one of them though, but to me not close to the biggest one. We have no idea how good or bad he'll be, but even if he ends up being the worst outcome, an OC can only negatively impact a team so much. If your players are good enough, they can overcome that. In 2025 the Eagles offense sucked not because Patullo sucked, but because the offensive players sucked and were unable to overcome Patullo. The OL sucked, the QB wasn't very good(and hasn't been since 2022) the WRs weren't at their best, Goedert looked washed in every aspect except the red zone, and the running game wasn't close to as good as 2024.I'm concerned about the offense because of all of those elements. But more the players than the coaching. I think people kind of overrate the Eagles offensive talent. They have maybe 2 maybe 3 elite players on offense? Barkley if he's still elite... RBs can fall off at any moment so remains to be seen, but I'll consider him still an elite RB until proven otherwise. Lane is elite. And Mailata possibly if he gets back to playing like he did in 2024 and prior, he certainly wasn't elite in 2025. I don't think Devonta is elite, I think he's a tier below, still very good. The OL has major questions, the WRs outside of Devonta have major questions, Goedert has major questions and if he struggles this year that position is gonna be pretty brutal, and the biggest question of all is the QB who hasn't had close to an elite season since 2022. I just don't think the ceiling is there for this offense to be great. I think their floor is a flat out bad offense, and I think their ceiling is a good enough offense to win a Super Bowl if the defense is as great as it can be.
